Heat protectants!! I have one that I randomly bought on Amazon last year, but would love a rundown of what to look for - which ones you recommend, etc.
Ok she mentioned Try Guys... now I gotta... Picture this- Try Guys Try Being a Hairstylistl. The guys would watch Kayley do some kind of tricky hairdo which they would recreate on their S.O. They could get one shout out(Kayley comes to their rescue) and one call in(watch a video of the hair turorial). Kayley would judge the winner
I have a straightener that I paid 10€ for and a travel curling iron that also was only like 6€ and is quite small. I wanted to buy a bigger one some time but it still works fine. I don't use them that much. I bought them in 2015.
Usually only buy hair dryer & Straightners when my other stop working but it takes me ages before I chose to spend my hard earned cash and end not paying stupid money and waiting to see if I can get it on offer and as for curlers cheapest prices possible as my hair does not hold curls even when I get them professionally done and most of the time I get a tight a curl as can get and by the time I get to wherever I need to be it looks at best wavy😭
I’ve watched Kristen Ess use this on her hair. I totally get it for THAT ONE hairstyle that a lot of people like and do everyday, with just the bend and whatever. I don’t get it, but it looked good on her lol
I love that you used the Rank King format! This is such a fun video! I also LOVE that you talk about the science, tech, and R&D that goes into the products. As a woman in tech who also loves hair, it warms my heart to see those worlds collide in your videos 😊
I noticed that a few years back, you used predominantly NuMe products. I subsequently bought my wand, flat iron, and hairdryer from them, and I've been using them ever since. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with them. Is there a reason why you don't use yours anymore? I didn't see them on this list.
Kayley, I have been watching you for years and years and I think your videos are better than ever (though they've always been great). The content is amazing and I just love to see your personality shine through. I love it when your sister is in your videos too and from a practical standpoint it's really helpful to see two different kinds of hair. Keep doing what you're doing! 💕
kayley once quarantine is over i’d love to see u have a budget of maybe $100 and then go to target and get products and use them for a week (even tho it would prob be all kristen was 😂)
Raise the stakes? £20 - £30 for a starter pack for hair things e.g. shampoo/conditioner of choice, bobbles, clips, dry shampoo, hairbrush, oils etc. Like if you were a dad who suddenly found out he has a 13 year old daughter who lost her hair stuff in a suitcase somewhere and she was like "can you get me some hair things?" What would you advise him to pick up? (Also sidenote that sounds like the start of a weird sit com)
When she mentions how it was so cool back in the day to have your Abercrombie jeans with your American Eagle polos and CHI was in your MySpace top 8 it hit me - I really need to get a new straightener...
I love this!! Please do more ranking videos like what styling products you use the most or what brushes/combs or accessories you use the most/are favorites. I'd also love to see a video for putting together a hair "wardrobe" on a budget like favorite budget straightener, curling irons, hair dryer, styling product, and accessories that you use a lot in your tutorials but are also really versatile. I love these videos that are a mix of brands because it really shows how different price points compare and how different brands hold up. I know all of this is a lot of work for you but I really appreciate things like this because it helps me make better purchases.
FINALLY!! I have been waiting for a hot tools collection video for years, thank you for coming through with this ranking! I will refer back to this video the next time I want to buy something
Your my favorite hairstylist UA-camr, you talk to your audience like friends I find that a lot of hairstylist UA-camrs talk down to their audience in a condescending way. Your videos feel so friendly but informative!
How this video is everything!!! Also all the graphics on the bottom are so helpful but must have taken super long time to edit! I see your effort girl(s) and I really appreciate it!
I bought the Amika years ago before they started selling in stores, when they were in the kiosks in the mall. Initially I loved it! BUT as time when on, it stated breaking my hair and I'm SURE it caused plenty of heat damage. The temperature stopped working, so it was just one temp... I finally stopped using it and no am searching for a replacement....
love this channel! I recently cut my hair and it has given me so many tips on how to style shorter or shoulder length hair. I found this Chanel a couple of days ago and have already watched most of the videos!!! Seriously such a blessing!!!
I'd LOOOOVE for you to do an in-depth review on the GHD Curve! I know you mentioned it in this video, but I've every interested in how it works and ways to style your hair with it!
Hi Kayley! I am DYINGGG to know your nail color! I’m obsessed with it, and I’m getting married this year and I’m looking for the perfect blush nail color and I think yours is it!
I don’t hit the bell because I get on UA-cam multiple times a day and see new videos before I see the email notification for it... it’s ok, Kayley. We still love you!
The Chi Spin N Curl.... LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! As a momma, it allows me to curl my daughters’ hair without the worry of burning them if they move. The look is that of hot rollers since the barrel is on the short side of length (if you leave it in until it beeps). I can adjust the temperature. Depending upon how much or little hair I section, as well as how long I leave my hair wrapped on it (immediately release, count a specified time, or wait for it to beep)... I’m actually able to create numerous looks from waves to curls. The only downside is that it doesn’t work as well for chin length hair or shorter, nor hair past the shoulder blades in length. Don’t dismiss this tool. It’s truly a must for busy mommas and tween/young teens beginning their hair tool adventures.
I own more hot tools than I need or use but my absolute favorite is my Amika perfect strand straightener. It’s so much better than my old cheap straightener (which overheats quickly) and keeps my fine hair from being too frizzy. I was so excited to get it in my fabfitfun box and to own a tool you used. I love it so much. It’s the best straightener I’ve ever used.
Love you Kayley! I miss AL, so let her know. You are so fun and helpful and beautiful! I am new and just learning to curl my naturally straight, virgin hair. I have the Kristen Ess one inch curling iron because of you. Keep being you, girl!
My face when I saw this video go up: 😮😃🤩😍🤗 THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I'm practicing more minimal streamlined routines and this helps me figure out what to keep/pass on/buy
I really love this video!! Honestly I've had the same tools for 6 years. Yes that includes the NuMe curling set, still going strong no issues. Being older and more caring of my hair I wish the heat setting can be change butttt I probably won't purchase anything new til it breaks. My "diamond" straighter does "stick" more so I may purchase an amica one once that dies. Does anyone remember way back in the day flat iron experts had it as number 1 to buy? Crazy how times change. Hair dryer i love it. 6 years and still amazing.
@@Deni-mt9bj yes but that one was like from very especific sets ... i would like to see all of them hahahha (im greedy) ... withe scale and everything i know it can be a lot of work ... just an idea :)
That 2inch curling iron will be better for someone with longer hair. I personally love that look and would would love to have a iron like that that gives that straight but not totally straight natural look. And I can't blow dry
I want to see an honest opinion about *LANGE HAIR TOOLS* from someone who isn’t a brand ambassador! They are EVERYWHERE on social media. Also- PLEASE DEMO AND REVIEW SOME *ROUND BRUSH HAIR DRYING TOOLS!* High-end vs Drugstore.
I loved this video Kayley! It's a great guide to measure against when hot tool shopping lol...I'm just a bit sad that there were no Nume tools to rank in it so I'm not sure about your thoughts in comparison to the rest xo
I used mine still, but yeah every yt beauty channel was repping them for a while. The biggest barrel on mine sometimes doesn't work, but I rarely use it
Ah yes I remember... back in the good old days when it as all about the NuMe curling wands and the sets that came with five hundred attachments that kinda looked like _toys_
In the 10% with notifications turned on! But thank you for this video. I’ve been trying to tell myself I have no need for the days on hair dryer, and you convinced me. Kristen Ess wins, I love everything else of hers already
I love this video so much. ♥️ I will say, I recently bought the KEH 2 inch iron, and I’m in love. At first it seemed silly, but I have long, naturally wavy hair. This helps tame my hair and add shine in a way I can’t achieve with my blow dryer (also KEH). I think if your hair was longer, you’d like it more...it’s definitely not worth it for short hair, or hair that doesn’t hold a curl well. 😊 Much love to you!
I’d love to see you do a “hairstylist rates L’ange products” video. They’ve been blowing up all over social media and I’d love to see your thoughts on them!
in my opinion, the kristin ess (the third curling iron) would be a great option for those who want a blow-out look but more long-lasting (blow-outs last a good 15 minutes on my hair for example, i have naturally straight hair)
I bought the conair wrap and wave double barrel curler because of you and still use it too!! It’s so great! I saved all my babysitting money back in the day for it.
HI MS.KAYLEY!!!! Since I’m only 5 Mimi only does stuff rarely to my hair but I LOOOOVE watching the cool tools!!!!! Love your biggest little fan!!!!! I hope you become my fan over here in Georgia’s world!!!!!! We love you and Ms. Anna Laura!!!! And puppies 🐶 too 🌎💜
I loved this because, anything you use alot on here you say "I love it" its nice to see your ride or dies. I am getting into hair more and its nice to see what is the best bang for your buck I am adding kristen ess blow dryer and 1 inch curling iron to my wishlist because of you.
This helps me SO MUCH. I'm in the market for a new hair straightener and didnt know where to start. Was looking at the Kristen Ess one but just wasnt and because I wear my hair straight 99% of the time, I need a good one. I have butt length thick af curly hair.
Thank you! I’m in the market for a new hot tool, and I’ve been waffling over just what to get and which brand. This was immensely helpful in narrowing things down.
This video is so freaking helpful. I’m currently on the hunt for some new products and this is perfect! Also shout out to hot tools, you totally influenced me to buy my first curling iron from them years ago 💕
I’m so shocked by the results but also not your videos have seriously helped me have something fun to do during quarantine. You should try the flat iron that is hot on the inside and outside
I've been thinking about taking some time to invest in better hair tools than the $20 walmart ones we have in my house 😂 I've really been hoping you'd do a video like this, because I think our hair is similar, and I wanted to know what works for you.
this is super great for me, i've been needing to invest in some new hot tools (i'm still using a curling iron and straightener that were hand-me-downs from my mother) but i've always been overwhelmed by all the options!
So glad you said that about the Amika straightener! I also got one in a fab fit fun box (the only reason I signed up for it), and I HATE it. It pulls my hair, and it doesn't straighten OR curl well. I'm glad to know their other tools are better than it, because I have been anti-Amika tools since then.
My CHI is 10 years old and curls my hair better than any curling iron I have. My curls last a week with it and a few hours with a curling iron. I haven't needed to buy a different flat iron because it still works great but I am curious about the Kristen ess now.
I was a little shook on the Kristen ess 2” iron because I was thinking about buying it! I have longer hair like Anna laura. I’m wondering if you have a technique with the 1” iron or flat iron to do a barely there bend on long hair? I want a super subtl e wave that looks like I curled my hair and then it’s 2 days later and there’s like one or two bends in there and it’s super relaxed and “cool” ya know?? I haven’t been able to nail it! Anyone have ideas??
Well, here's the thing, a lot of people LOVE that size! I can't really use it to it's full potential on my hair because it's shorter. AL didn't like that it was SO loose, for her it was like 3 days after curling curls. You can see it at the end of this video ua-cam.com/video/VnfMqkVr7iE/v-deo.html Not to toot my own horn, but I think some of the tricks in my instagram hair video from early 2019 would help with that goal. I do have a few other videos on barely there waves where I use a 1" or 1.25".
Watching Kayley rank hot tools as I straighten my hair for tomorrow. My iron sucks y'all like that straighten brush would have saved me 15 minutes. Although, Sephora has a mini version of that brush on sale I think...so maybe I will splurge in this time of quarantine.
You switched the ranking of the Kristin Ess irons and the GHD iron! Lol but I agree, I had such high hopes for the 2inch KE iron because of the amazing looks she has achieved with it. But as someone with shoulder length thin hair, it’s pointless. I could get the same or better effect with a blow dryer or flat iron!
Love this! I'm looong overdue for a new straightener and blow dryer🙈 This solidified my decision to get the Kristin Ess straightener and dryer. Love her curling iron!
Ceramic is for easy to style hair. If you have fine thinner hair and it’s easily styled, you’re good with ceramic. If you have hard to curl or hard to style hair, thicker hair, go for titanium.
I found that exact GHD curve curling iron in my cabinet today, along with their flatiron. These were major Christmas gifts to myself that I stored and forgot about! Glad you like the curling iron, I was considering buying a T3 but I should try this out first. I also have that Dry Bar one, but I've never used an iron with no clip. I bought it for my daughter but she only wears her hair straight. I digress. Great video! I just subscribed.
I have a heart condition , just had a pacemaker put in and I have been wondering about the Kristen ess bending wand as if it would be easier for people with disabilities who can’t keep our arms up as long . It’s too pricey for me right now but what do you think? Does it help not have to raise your arms as much?
Kayley, you are the Rank Princess. Eugene's mom is the rank queen 😉. I love you and your sister and I hope you both are doing well! Have a good day everyone! ❤
I have the double barrel curling iron (second one) that you mentioned! I bought it after you mentioned it in a video way back when! Crazy that they don't sell it anymore! Wow! How time flies

I'm glad to know their other tools are better than it, because I have been anti-Amika tools since then.
Do you still have the T3 hair dryer? I was wondering where you would have put that in the list.
As a 33 y/o with a Chi flat iron and Hot Tools curling irons, I feel very called out. I guess I know what's on my Xmas list!
Kaylee, this is the video I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED. SO INFORMATIVE. will def come back later as a reference
My CHI is 10 years old and curls my hair better than any curling iron I have. My curls last a week with it and a few hours with a curling iron. I haven't needed to buy a different flat iron because it still works great but I am curious about the Kristen ess now.
Looking at that hot tools curling iron took me back to Kayley with brown hair and ombré highlights.
Ok this is everything I never knew I needed. Kayleys opinion is the gospel truth people!
I was a little shook on the Kristen ess 2” iron because I was thinking about buying it! I have longer hair like Anna laura. I’m wondering if you have a technique with the 1” iron or flat iron to do a barely there bend on long hair? I want a super subtl
e wave that looks like I curled my hair and then it’s 2 days later and there’s like one or two bends in there and it’s super relaxed and “cool” ya know?? I haven’t been able to nail it! Anyone have ideas??
Well, here's the thing, a lot of people LOVE that size! I can't really use it to it's full potential on my hair because it's shorter. AL didn't like that it was SO loose, for her it was like 3 days after curling curls. You can see it at the end of this video ua-cam.com/video/VnfMqkVr7iE/v-deo.html
Not to toot my own horn, but I think some of the tricks in my instagram hair video from early 2019 would help with that goal. I do have a few other videos on barely there waves where I use a 1" or 1.25".
Kayley Melissa thank you so much!! You’re the hair queen as always 👸🏼 I’ll check them out!
I would love to hear your opinions on the Dyson Corrale straightner, it’s crazy expensive though 🙈
Daniela No I’m guessing that’s the upcoming Dyson video she mentioned.
Watching Kayley rank hot tools as I straighten my hair for tomorrow. My iron sucks y'all like that straighten brush would have saved me 15 minutes. Although, Sephora has a mini version of that brush on sale I think...so maybe I will splurge in this time of quarantine.
Had to go out and get the Kristin Ess blow dryer and 1 in curling iron because of this video. So far, no regrets! 😍
OMG that double barrel con air was SO MUCH FUN to play with. Still have it, will never let it go, so glad someone else remembers it lol
GIRL! Lol I have another CHI iron, and they really haven't been doing anything-they're pretty mediocre 🤣Love you, love this video, it was fantastic
I feel like I have been waiting for this video my whole life 😆😆
Love this! I'm looong overdue for a new straightener and blow dryer🙈 This solidified my decision to get the Kristin Ess straightener and dryer. Love her curling iron!
Loving your makeup look! Would love to see a makeup tutorial on it! 💕
Please review brooklyn and baileys hair accessories! Love u
What’s the difference between titanium and ceramic and other in straighteners?
Idk but maybe one is more eco friendly🤷♀️
Ceramic is for easy to style hair. If you have fine thinner hair and it’s easily styled, you’re good with ceramic. If you have hard to curl or hard to style hair, thicker hair, go for titanium.
Also titanium just feels better for me. No so sticky? Idk?
Hii
I bought the Kristin Ess 1 1/4 inch curler thanks to you. I absolutely ❤️ it and still use it. So pretty too
I found that exact GHD curve curling iron in my cabinet today, along with their flatiron.
I would love to see the airwrap take 2 ... now that it’s been out for awhile and people love it. Curious how it would work on AL
About to go add almost everything you liked to this list! All the way down the list to the DryBar curling iron! Thank you Kayley!!
I remember when you had the hot tools curling iron and that was the first curling iron I bought to replace my mom’s from the 80s
This is such a good idea for quarantine!
I have a heart condition , just had a pacemaker put in and I have been wondering about the Kristen ess bending wand as if it would be easier for people with disabilities who can’t keep our arms up as long . It’s too pricey for me right now but what do you think? Does it help not have to raise your arms as much?
Rank-Queen, Eugene would be proud 😄❤️ “I’m right, you’re wrong, shut up”
Kayley, you are the Rank Princess. Eugene's mom is the rank queen 😉. I love you and your sister and I hope you both are doing well! Have a good day everyone! ❤
This was amazing. Helps me hone in on exactly which tools are right for me.
I have the double barrel curling iron (second one) that you mentioned! I bought it after you mentioned it in a video way back when! Crazy that they don't sell it anymore! Wow! How time flies
I'm curious on your thoughts about the Kristin Ess 2 inch curling iron for those of us with medium to long hair? Thanks!
