  • Thank for watching.
    I made a checkering tool.
    Checkering tools are not in demand in Japan and are difficult to obtain, so I made my own.
    Since I am a beginner in welding, the quality is not high, but it is a product that can be used sufficiently.
    日本では需要がないのか入手困難なので、自作してみました。
    私はロウ付けは初心者なのでクオリティは高くありませんが、何とか使えるモノには仕上がりました。
    問題は、これを何に使うかです、、、

      @@46craftworks I think the guy was sarcastic. Don't worry thought, as an actual craftman i know what you did and i like your idea of using a small file to make the engraving part of the tool.

    • @mandrac2
      @mandrac2 4 місяці тому

      0:42 the guy take a small precision triangular file and sand 2 side of it using sand paper. 1:47 he makes a notch using a harder triangular file to mark his cutting points. The steel of a file is very hard so he pull out the diamond blade saw. 2:58 he cut the handle from what seems to be a 3mm thick 25mm wide mild steel bar. 3:24 if you want to save you the pain and time here you might just want to buy a narrower piece of steel. 3:35 i swear this mast have taken hours... 4:18 guy heat up the steel to make it easier to work. 4:44 he took so much time clamping it that the steel is now cold and hard again so he just wack it with a hammer, perectly valid technic, i would have skiped the torching and go directly to that step. 5:04 he apply flux to the part he's about to solder so that the solder stick to the metal better. 5:51 he deposit a small piece of silver solder that he proceed to melt, fusing the pieces together. 7:01 he mix epoxy glue for the wooden handle. 7:31 he clamp the piece of wood with C clamps and let the glue dry. 8:53 more epoxy for the other side. 9:22 he probably realized that the vise is less trouble than using multiple c clamps which can be a huge pain to work with. 10:38 he apply lin seed oil or something similar to protect the wood. The rest is self explanatory.

    Great video, thanks. A useful tip for the future; solder flows towards the heat, so point the heat at the object you want to solder, not at the blob of solder.

    This would all seem to be a complete waste of time as the cutting head will be annealed after heating up , after just a few lines cut in Walnut they will be blunt, the cutter head must be very hard to be of any use.And there do not appear to be any teeth left on the cutter head?

    Personally I would use a cut off wheel on a rotary tool or angle grinder to do all the metal cutting, and a grinding wheel to shape the sides of the file - but that's me.

    (5:36) - U didn't show us how this double rows of teeth were made.
    That's the most crucial part, not the tooth brush handle.
    U just cut the thin jeweler's small file in two pieces, then placed them
    side by side just B4 setting them on that steel handle? It would have been
    nice to show that step.

      Very handy idea that can have lots of great uses and can also be great in the medical area for people with poor grip for holding things. You could start your own business in buying cooking items and other things around the home and carve checkerboard grooves on to them and sell them online. You could even advertise through hospitals, physiotherapy offices and with doctors and clinics giving them all a link to your online contact so they can pass it on to patients who might need these for home care. You could even contact medical equipment suppliers that have their own online shops and offer to your ideas to them so they can order as required. Great idea lovely job
