nah u jus like to watch the world burn 💀
@@ohijordanbro, take a joke. The dude was making a joke, and no - most of the playerbase are toxic af.
What, you’re toxic to ppl if they try to kill you to prog? Damn.
@gamergang2686 because voidwalkers suck balls, go do deepbound ffs, not making me have to re fucking sail across the entire sea.
@Gigamaxgaming-jk1hp Void walkers are the devils minions, i get void walked every 2 minutes😭
Since it's always great to have a new deepwoken content creator, or a new player in general, I thought I'd help you out since you seme pretty uh.. confused. I'll start the ramble now!!
First of all, Deepwoken IS indeed a perma death game, but perma death is unique. You don't just have limited lives, you can actually only permanently die in one place, you reach this place by dying twice without powering up(I'll explain this later), it's called the Depths and you will know you're there when your health bar is blue tinted. If you're experienced enough, you can escape the depths and you can regain your lives.
Basically, healthy health bar is normal orange/red, after dying once, it becomes stained, not as vibrant as before, you can power up and fix your health bar, but if you don't, and die with your stained health bar, you're sent to the depths and have a blue health bar, being capable of permanently dying. Depths are also very dangerous, players and strong mobs lurk there, so be careful. But with danger comes opportunity, you can power up rapidly through grinding in the depths, but be careful of staying there too long, a status effect called "insanity" will start withering away at your sanity stat, which can be increased with willpower.
Wiping your slots(permanently dying) are to be expected, it's all a part of the learning experience, I wiped over 50 times in my first week of deepwoken! Play, learn, wipe, learn, wipe! At the start where you have nothing, your slots are expendable, used for gaining experience in game mechanics(mostly combat) When you're fighting, react to an enemy's attack, try to parry, but you can also block and dodge, each have their own benefits! Most attacks can be parried, but each have their own timing you have to learn. Learning where all the hard enemies are, which enemies give good experience, what areas full of dangerous players you have to avoid and so on are all a part of the game, often achieved by dying. you must die to learn as we have
Final advise, deepwoken players. Now, you're clearly a "freshie", a term players use to refer to new players who know NOTHING. Now there three interactions players have with freshies, either they hate their guts and grip them on sight, think they're adorable and give them free loot, or ignore them because they're annoying. Took me a while to find some common traits, but here's how you can avoid the freshie grippers(freshie killers) and how you can spot the nicer ones.
Firstly, the freshie grippers. The only way to spot them is by how advanced their build looks, most builds are made specifically for PVP(player vs player), they're bloodthirsty and like attacking anything. You can't tell who's a freshie gripper by their weapon, but you can tell who's NOT a freshie gripper this way. Meet the PVE(player vs environment/monsters) players, they just like fighting monsters and are rich beyond compare, which is why they give their riches to the poor freshies because they have plenty to spare. These players ALL have very large weapons, ALL of them being greataxes, like that kind player from the start. Of course, play it by ear, it's all a part of the learning experience.
video idea : making the chef man proud and going to the depths to get crab meat and making that crab pizza!!!
Also, please pay attention to which npcs are friendly, you gripped an etrean and navaen NPC at the start, they literally guard you at the starting area. It's on sight now little bro.
Good comment i feel like mine explains Deepwoken better tho but we are all here to help Jack play deepwoken and for him to have fun in it as well

bro typed a whole essay ... dubs to you my friend
Cool playthrough, it was fun seeing you almost get jumped. The game is REALLY good but heres just some things to know. (with minimal spoilers)
1. You can right click to feint attacks cancel the endlag of a roll. Right clicking also lets you quickly getup upon being ragdolled but not concussed.
2. The big blue bar at the bottom is ether, it is effectively this games mana system for spells (called mantras). The bar under it is tempo, a reward system that measures your skill in parrying and overall aggression in a fight. When in combat, you only gain ether back through your tempo draining overtime. You can also spend 60% of your tempo to vent (a burst) by pressing G to help you out of sticky situations.
3. How the permadeath works: There are three health states; Healthy, Injured and Drowned. Look at your healthbar early on (eg 10:00), its a single orange colour. This is the healthy state, dying whilst healthy makes you injured (11:30), your health bar is more rusted. Some players call it "spotted" health due to its appearance. Dying whilst injured drowns you (your hp becomes BLUE), sending you to this games hell, the depths. The depths is a super high level area with rare items, terrifying monsters and worst of all, dying there will end the run. To get out of the injured state, simply power up (a level increase), you can power up by spending all your attribute points (every time you levelled your strength, that spent an attribute point into strength). You get 15 attribute points every level, when youre at zero, you gain a full hp restore, lose the injured state and gain multiple hands of talents/mantras. To recover from the depths, the ancient city of celtor in the middle of the depths houses an elevator which leads you to a trial. There is a different way of entrance based on what part of the city youre in (which i wont spoil). In the trial, you will be judged by the trial voices, higher beings that dictate what peril you must face to prove that youre worthy enough to return to the world of the living from Scyphozia. If youre weak, they may take pity on you and simply let you leave out of disgust in their presence. If youre strong, they may summon a beast of the depths as your challenge. If you attempt to cheese the trial by bringing along many friends, they may see it as an insult and take matters into their own hands for your judgement.
4. The big ass lizard you saw in the water is a world boss called Cyranthil. You were smart for not bringing your boat near it.
5. Press F just before being hit to parry an attack. Some attacks are unparriable, signified by a red flash and a PLINK sound.
6. You have other training equipment than the dumbell that you spawn with. You get one for your attunement, highest starting stat and weapon. If you dont have an attunement then you get one for your second highest in its place. You need to get EXP in the stat you want to level then convert the xp into levels through the use of the training gear. Say you want to level intelligence? Pick new fruits or visit new lands. Want to level thundercall? Cast spells on opponents or consume the spark glands from other wielders of the attunement. Do note that every attribute shares a universal xp gained through COMBAT.
7. If you die, respawn at isle of vigils, that place has a training area to get you acquainted with the games difficult combat. The only benefit Etris has over it, is that it has a lot more places to go, quests and if you gain enough reputation, you may even meet the lord. (they are both considered territory of etrea though)
This one’s sanity must’ve already crumbled…
Please leave me alone ...
There's a lot of comments helping already but one thing you seemed confused about was the combat. The combat is very similar to Sekiro, with a parry/dodge and posture system. Parrying is done by pressing F at almost the same time as when the enemies attack is about to land. You can also block, which is done by holding F. Attacks that land when you're blocking will only increase your posture (however there is something called Chip Damage that some weapons have, that will deal little damage to you even when blocking) there is also certain attacks, like Critical Attacks and certain Mantras that will instantly block break you. After being block broken you are stun locked for about a second. There is also an evasive, called Venting. Venting is done by pressing G when your tempo bar is blue. Your tempo bar fills up by you landing attacks, or attacks being landed on you. The tempo bar also dictates how quickly your Ether regenerates. Ether is basically the Mana bar, you need it to use mantras. Then lastly you have the Dodging system. Dodging is done by pressing Q right before an attack lands, you can dodge forward, right, left, and backwards. You can also cancel your dodge by pressing right click when you're in the animation. If you dodge an attack and then cancel your dodge mid animation, you'll still get I-frames and won't be hit by the attack. There is certain Talents in game that give you a higher dodge window, making it easier to dodge attacks, or talents that can make you entirely invisible for a few seconds after dodging an attack.
sorry for the yap i hope this helped
combat is not even close to sekiro tbh

The game is permadeath, but it's a little generous since other players can attack you, so they give you 2 lives before you go to The Depths, which is just literally Hell. You can see after you died the first time your health becomes "stained" instead of a nice solid colour, this means you have one life, you can get back to 2 by escaping the depths after dying or powering up.
The dumbbell only works sometimes because you need xp for it, you technically could spam it, but you wouldn't needed to kill a lot of things, and it'll stop you every time you power up to pick some abilities. Power is just your level, and max is 20.
The progression is the most important thing so I'll try and explain, but I don't wanna make it too long. When you look in the top right of your inventory you can see all your stats, you can also see "investment points" which starts at 15 and goes down every time you level up a stat, once it reaches 0 you power up and get to pick "talents" and "mantras". Mantras are basically spells, and talents can be a wide variety of things, but are usually some kind of conditional stat buff, like "increase the speed boost you get after parrying" or something. Try not to go too high into any stats other than your type of weapon and your "attunement", or magic type, anything above 50 usually won't give you many more talents. You can find lockers in certain safe areas like where you spawn that let you buy training equipment for all the different stats, but don't buy stuff you won't need, like items that train attunements you don't have.
I'd honestly just recommend trying to find someone to teach you the game, it's the best way to get into it, maybe even the guy who added you to his guild. Most players are not very nice, but there are a lot of people willing to help new players too. Most my time on the game is spent walking around that starter island and saving new people so I can help them learn the game.

YOOOO JACK!! PLEASE KEEP PLAYING DEEPWOKEN AND MAKE A SERIES OUT OF IT THERES SOOOO MUCH CONTENT THAT YOU WILL FIND
Deepwater is my favorite game
Deepwoken*
@ dawg what
Hey, veteran Deepwoken player here, its great to see someone popular appreciate the game! I started playing back when it released in december '21, before the map, ship summoning, guild bases, the tutorial, pretty much everything that helped you get to where you are.
The game has a slight learning curve when you're super new, not knowing the fundamentals will lead you to 'wipe' (lose your character) very often.
For the permadeath, your health bar has 3 states:
Normal - The default deep orange you spawn with, dying will stain your health bar
Stained - The rusty pale orange you were on for most of the video, dying with stained health will 'drown' you and send you do the depths
Drowned - This health bar is what will wipe you if you die, you get this by being in the depths at all
Npcs are divided by static npcs, the ones that you only talk to, you can't attack these, and they're mostly used for quests and services, they don't often move
Combative npcs are the ones that can fight, most of them move around on a set rotation, so you could sneak around them.
Monsters, of which you only saw one (the sea monster, aka the World Serpent or Caeranthil's Doom), these are usually somewhat strong and very animated. they have special attack patterns unique to each of them.
Certain npcs are aligned with factions, this is why they will or won't attack you. All factions have a way to gain reputation with them, through jobs, bounties, quests, or aiding them in combat. Some factions are hostile by default.
There are two types of exp, power exp, and attribute exp. Power exp is what you get from "gripping" (executing) things or killing monsters, most power exp comes along with some attribute exp.
Attribute exp directly comes from other sources, you get strength exp by parrying or chopping down trees, agility exp from running around and climbing, fortitude exp from taking damage, willpower exp for going insane or killing people, intelligence exp for discovering new areas, and charisma training from selling items (not very much, don't recommend) and using the "How to make friends" training book
Every 15 attribute points invested you will power up, max power is 20
Powering up gives you 4 card hands, 3 for talents, and one for mantras (spells/abilities) or traits (stat increases). Mantra and trait hands cycle every other power level
Talents are cards that give you special abilities or buffs, these have individual stat requirements and are mostly random to roll, but you can weigh the odds very easily.
An example of a talent is the rare talent Exoskeleton, which you can roll for 40 fortitude, it gives you +5 hp and 10% physical resistance in the form of a secondary armor bar
At the end of the day, Deepwoken is a pvp game, you get abilities and fight people. There are also some very fun pve challenges, but there is more content for pvp by far.
For some things in the video, that purple light in the ocean was an artifact, one that you can pick up and turn into bankers for loot. To make crab pizza you have to get crustacean meat from a large crab, one that is only found in the depths. The chef recipes are in your recipe book when you get the quest, and turning in the pizza will get you chef-related loot.
My personal favorite part about Deepwoken is the ability to make many unique and powerful builds, you can invest into charisma and fortitude to get talents to tank hits and help your friends, or agility and strength to chase down and deal heavy blows to your opponent.
You would be sent to the depths after two deaths, if you die there, you are wiped. Depending on your level, it becomes more difficult to exit the depths.
LMAOOO I JUST SAW THIS, I'M THE GUY THAT ADDED YOU TO MY GUILD
SORRY AGAIN FOR JUMPING YOU BROTHER
This one sanity has crumbled
By the way, all music is original and specifically made for this game to use, It's on the naktigonis channel, You shouldn't get copyrighted. You don't have to mute it.
Alright, here's the guide for deepwoken (or the basics):
Let's start with stat point allocation..
There are a total of 6 CORE attributes, 1 ELEMENTAL attribute (usually just 1, you only have 1 atm), and 3 WEAPON attribute types.
CORE ATTRIBUTES: Strength(STR), Fortitude(FTR), Agility (AGL), Intelligence (INT), Willpower (WIL), and Charisma (CHA)
These can be levelled up thorugh using training gears after obtaining exp by defeating mobs, it is reccomended to put points into fortitude and agility. Hover over the attributes to see what they do for you.
ELEMENT: You have chosen thundercall, this is one of 7 elements (i think) in the game, putting points into this make your mantras/magic attacks do more damage, it also allows you to unlock higher tier magic attacks and talents/PATHS
an element path usually changes the cosmetic and function of the elemental staus effect ex: flame changes from applying a burn status -> causing mini volcanic eruptions. For thunder there is a blue lightning path that is cool
WEAPON: It is reccomended to atleast have 75 wep stats allocated for most high tier weapons, but allocate points as you see fit, more points -> more weapon dmg.
Deepwoken enemy types:
Humanoid -> enemies that aren't monsters/wield weapons
things to know: MOST HUMANOIDS are friendly, like the people around the campfire you attacked, and the people at the town, they become hostile if attacked or depending on your race, as each race is part of a faction and factions have enemies/rivals of sorts (Check factions tab to see which humanoids are hostile to you). SOME HUMANOIDS will attack you no matter what, like the brown coated bandits/the assasin-dagger npcs that attacked you.
Monsters -> monster like enemies (such as the big serpent u saw in the water)
Players/voidwalkers -> if you encounter a player with black and orange clothing, they are most liekly out to attack you for exp(due to an ingame ORIGIN(like etrea or isle of vigils) that unlocks pvp progression style), players in general tend to be either REALLY hostile or REALLY friendly, i would reccomend hiding your server name (listed at the top) if you plan to stream the game (up to you though)
Starter Guide:
**It is HIGHLY reccomend to test out the mechanics listed below on a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the isle of vigils**
OR
**If you are feeling up for a challenge, i would go to minityrsa (snow island on the map) and seek the Trial of One to fight most deepwoken enemy types to learn their patterns**
There are two LUMINANTS, the gate you entered in the end of the video takes you to the higher level LUMINANT/the eastern luminant, it is reccomended to stay in the etrean luminant until you are power 10 (lvl 10), as the enemies in the eastern luminant do lots of damage.
Now... the mechanics.
**DEFENDING** (ALL ABOUT TIMING): you won't get the gist of it right away, as its all about learning the timings of various attacks in the game):
F to parry: this is your best friend against every single mob, most attacks can be parried and after parrying an attack (this attack can be multi hit so you may have to parry more than once, but if the attack is VERY fast there is "auto parry frames"/you only have to parry once) you are almost guarenteed a free hit on the enemy after parry an attack.
q to dodge: This is used for those "loud red attacks"(MONSTER/MOBS will do this, there is a clear indicator) you may encounter and also for feints (a clicking noise used by most HUMANOID enemys/enemies that wield weapons). If you press q then right click is somewhat quick sucession, you wont dodge super far which lowers ur time window for dodging an attack slightly but makes you recover faster allowing you to get more attacks in
F to block: you will almost never use this function due to posture (the yellow bar above your health) being broken causes you to be stunned and take heavy damage, but i would reccomend using it against "feints" as discussed earlier
G to vent: If you are taking a lot of consectuvie attacks, the light purple colored bar direclty above your toolbar will fill up, once it is passed a threshold, you can press G to send enemies attacking you flying backwards,
**ATTACKING**: probably the easiest mechanic to learn in deepwoken:
m1s: Clicking left click on your mouse swings your weapon, depending on your weapon type (heavy,(HVY) medium(MED), and light (LHT)) you swing at different speeds, the slower you swing -> the higher the dmg is the tradeoff (USUALLY). It is best to m1 swing AFTER a successful parry/dodge.
Criticals/"R" key: this is used mostly on HUMANOID enemies if the enemy keeps parrying/blocking your attacks
Mantras/tool bar magic abilities: every mantra does something different, mantras come in 4 tiers, no star (like the one you have), 1 star (requirement 20 points into your element), 2 star (30 points), and 3 star(40 points). Mantras are used via the consumption of ETHER (a blue bar below your hp)
Feints/"right click": if you right click while swinging your weapon, you will stop swinging it causing your enemy to be confused/ stunned for a VERY brief time, usually meant for pvp aspects of the game. you can do the same for mantras by right clicking AND left clicking.
I may be missing other niche things but this should get you started, enjoy.

Bro Jack, I’m totally sure anyone that plays Deepwoken would like to play with you, because I feel this game is kind of like a game to play with friends and I see that progressing is kind of hard

I love seeing freshies play its funny to see when somone is mad confused or helpless but good job you did archive alot for a new player
never heard of this game, but im here for Jack playing more roblox
this game is amazing i would 100% recommend it
You should try it but you should get friends to play with because its abit hard at first when playing solo
the items that guy gave you were legendary items and you should really store them at the banker because well, they're pretty rare of course, and you have 3 lives in this game if you die 2 times you go to the depths where you will have to do a trial to go back to the main world and you gain a live whenever you level up (only when at the main world)
please keep playing and make a series out of this, this video was really funny lmao
not gonna lie you’re one of the starting youtubers that in my opinion understands better the game. Most of then dont know what to do. Btw you need to get xp by fighting monsters and THEN invest it using gear like the dumbell. meaning first you fight then if you want to lvl up strength you use the dumbell
quick FYI
you can parry pretty much EVERYTHING in this game unless the attack has a red glow around it.
nice cliffhanger ending, cant wait for part 2
They definitely need to include venting and basic systems like ether and tempo, and where to see your notes as well as what knowledge is in the tutorial
the eye of malice is overall the strongest weapon in the game
if you dont die then u can store it in ur safebank at the bank
Bro bouta take dookies every second the moment he dies a 2nd time 💀 Deepwoken Is by no joke, a semi horror game with the fucking monster designs and the music
What?
Love you Jack, I went from watching you watch Naruto to seeing you play the best Roblox game of all time. It's so cool to see how you are trying new things as a youtuber and how you have branched out from just reacting. Thanks for all the fire content man!

no way bro found the eastern lumenient before even killing a bandit of erisia
You can’t hide jack
You have to parry attacks to attack back, your attack animation is supposed to be long otherwise you could intercept the attack of someone else.
you'll probably want to bank all your valuable weapons and equipment in the bank since you lose items on death
Next video : "hey guys I heard this duke guy is pretty strong so i'm going to go fight him! surely I can do it!"
went a entire first video without getting sent... down.
thats impressive
In the game you have 3 lives the first Is Normal 2nd Is wounded But their is no difference. You can tell you have the first life when your health bar is plain red and wounded Is shown when you have a stained health bar. When you die with a stained health bar you Go to the depths where there are strong monsters and you have to escape back to the surface to regain all your lives. If you die in the depths you wipe your character and go to the "Fragments of self" in which you can pass down 2 items (This can be upgraded with echos) After you pass down items you go to An npc that Resets your character and gives you echos based on your ingame achievements e.g defeating bosses cooking food, catching fish. With these echos you can upgrade your character in certain areas such as unlocking new starting weapons for your next build.
Everyone is forgetting every other aspect of deepwoken, go to a snowy place and search up how to go to trial of ones, and its a place that gives you treasure , there will be a lot of guards to stop you fr, you also have to do it at level 1.
he already sunk points in so he cant go in the trial so he'll just have to pick it from the character creator whenever he wipes
The skill tree is more like a skill ocean.
Crtl + run to slide
Slide + jump to hop
M1 then m2 after to feint
Press G while in a combo to escape it
Choose 2 flaws to pick autodidact and maverick
Crtl + m1 to uppercut
F to parry, don't go attacking everything, fighting is how you get exp aside from certain unorthodox methods that really won't get you enough exp to progress more than 1 level, avoid all players unless you wanna risk dying, don't take other people's loot or boat or they will jump you.

Your archmagesty, another youtuber playing deepwoken has hit the community
if your gonna keep playing i suggest heading your way to isle of vigils and fighting the training guys to learn how to parry and roll all these attacks for the most part all moves in this game are parryable with a few exceptions mainly from bosses but your not there yet
I am very frustrated with you because you did not try to parry ANYTHING but it was a learning process for everyone so I’ll provide you some tips
1. That thin multi colored bar above the blank one is your parry bar and the the blank one is your posture that will fill up when your attacks get parried or when you block an attack when it fills up fully yellow you get posture/guardbroken
2. That giant monster you saw is *The Doom of Caeranthril* a new boss apart of the recently added world events you will need to be atleast a decent power level to kill it and a bunch of friends to kill it but when you do it drops a bunch of good loot

OKAY, this is gonna be a loooonnnngggg comment.....
So, first things first, you have a total of 3 lives in this game: 2 lives in the normal world, which you can regain by leveling up, and your last life in a place called "Depths." To escape the said depths, you gotta go to the middle of the map and enter an elevator. Watch out for the mobs in the depths; most might one-shot you.
Alright, to learn the game, you have to go to the Isle of Vigils, which is the second spawn. There, a trainer in an underground dojo will fight with you with different weapons without the consequence of dying, which is a great way to learn how to deal with humanoid enemies in this game.
The mechanic they didn't teach you is Vent if you are being attacked you can press G if you have a blue small bar on the bottom of your screen that will knock away whatever is attacking you.
Leveling is something hard to understand without guides and i will try my best to expain it here basically there is 6 basic stats Strength, Fortitude, Agility, Intelligence, Willpower, Charisma all of them give you diffrent "talents" when you level up the said talents can give you passive or active buffs to your character and some talents might lead into even better talents with a higher rarity i would recommend going for 50 agility for an easy to get "oath" i will expain what that is in a second but i will continue with the rest of the stats first so there is your weapon stat which is heavy weapon you level it up to get more damage and equip better weapons you can level it up with an item known as weapon manual and second to last thing is your element you chose a really good element thundercall it has many good mantras (skills) for beginners and is quite usefull since there are many easy to land and big aoe Mantras (skills) the skills which are called mantras can have an advance level that is determined by stars you start with 0 star mantras and once you get 20 thundercall which you get by using an item called Self-Conducting Loop you will get 1 star mantras and after more grind at thundercall 30 you will get 2 star mantras and after getting 60 thundercall you will get 3 star mantras which include thunder cloak you know a minato/ssj kinda thing mantras can be leveled up at a guild or a trainer for notes to get the max upgrade lvl 5 you gotta get 80 thundercall and to get 80 thundercall since your element is capped at level 75 at first but after beating a boss which i dont expect from you you can unlock your element to get 80 thundercall okay that was long but last thing about leveling is the Vitality, Erudition, Proficiency, Songchant.
Vitality every time you add into it gives you 10 health Erudition will increase your temp(vent) and your mantra penetration and either(mana) Proficiency will increase your weapon scaling so basically damage and Songchant will make your mantras do more damage also you need 15 investment points to level up you can check how much you got in the middle of your stats.
Oath is an important thing to get I would recommend getting jetstriker which is an oath based on speed it changes your dashes and gives you a couple of skills to use in combat to mainly close gaps or start combos the reason I recommend it is because it one of the easiest to obtain and most useful to you since you can easily run from things when you are low you get it at Canada.. i mean minitrysa sorry i get those two mixed up some times its a snow island i cant tell you the exact location of the trainer since that would be hard so i would recommend getting a guide or som you also gotta find some white orbs for the passives and skills tho so its something you cant do without chat or a guide but i dont expect you to get an oath in the next 2 videos anyway.
I think that for now, I might edit this if I think of anything more that I can teach you to remember to block parry, and dodge I am expecting another episode in the next 2-3 business days
