Neighbors on edge after home with 7 people inside shot into

Neighbors in the Steele Creek area of Charlotte are worried after a house was shot into late Wednesday night.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Asheton Creek Drive, near Steele Creek Road. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said seven people were inside at the time. But this stems from a larger issue; CMPD said shootings into occupied dwellings were up in 2024.
