With all the missiable news and not so good breakfast TV shows.turning on to London live to watch programme like the baron and the prisoner ,has really cheered up my morning and see star's in there earlier TV career who went on from doing the baron and 60s hairstyles and clothes and how smart looking they where.
Do you mean the following? They followed his car, lost it then the officer in the car said to her "We'll find him" then they found The Worker's Club but I agree with you. She couldn't tell them. We seem to have been expected to accept they somehow picked up where he in his car had gone. ( They needed mobile phones ) If you don't mean the part I referenced as you said detectives not officers, forget it.
The storyline is full of holes: 1. When the informant ran out of the cafe and into the fog at the start, amazing how the crooks picked the exact street he went up! 2. When the criminal had been committed for trial and was leaving the police station the police inspector, having spotted a man staring blatantly at the police station, just said "it's probably nothing" !!!! 3. At the end when the crook's apprehended, how's The Baron going to DRIVE HIS CAR with the bad guy just sitting calmly beside him? It beggars belief!!
I know but who cares. It's entertainment and very enjoyable. I think the editors and directer don't care with these quickie TV series sometimes and just get the product out. It's a show piece really and rather innocent fun.
I don't agree. He's cool - laid back just like his brother Dana Andrews. Laurence Olivier was a ham actor. At least that's what his wife said - Vivien Leigh.
Randall and Hopkirk meets On the Buses - fascinating stuff, much appreciated!
Excellent episode. Thank you for posting.
This is one of the best episodes of The Baron series.
yep - 37:00 - and then the baron arrives like the cavalry.

14:33, Lonie gets second thoughts about revealing where Marty is.
I'm not a huge fan of "The Baron" but this episode is a good one!
27:08, Mannering goes to the Workers Hall to meet up with the assassin.
That's Mike Pratt of Randall and Hopkirk Deceased.
Here he is playing a Bad Guy.
Mike Pratt deceased.
25:19, Mannering doesn’t tell Cordelia where he’s going; so how did she know, when she met up with the detectives?

Jerome Willis from Within These Walls
13:28, one of the thugs looks for Cranwell.
Captures another world, long gone... Show has a certain vibe even if the story lines are weak...

I'm sure they used the same music in The Saint!

The London Police Department is certainly incompetent in this episode. It is a laughable episode.
Thanks.
It all looks so dated now. One series wonder.
Steve Forrest was a ham actor.
Elstree studios most of it I'd hazard a guess 🤔
