I enjoy Adam's lessons not only because he explains everything clearly, understandable, but also because he has great personalities ~ funny, happy, positive, humorous, approachable like. Adam, one of the best teacher ever👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I am a Taiwanese English teacher. (我是一個台灣的英文老師) The reason why my English is so good in comparsion with most of my fellow Taiwanese is that I have been constantly learning and practicing English. (我英文能力之所以比其他台灣大多數同胞來得強是因為我不間斷地學習與練習英文) Hopefully the average Emglish ability level for Taiwanese can improve a lot in the very near future. (希望台灣的平均英語實力能在不久的將來大大地進步) I have finished watching this video completely. (我已經完整地看完了這個影片) This video is awesome!!!! (這個影片棒呆了!!!) It is bloody useful!! (真是夭壽實用!!!) Big thanks to the teacher and all the fellow students around the world. (大大地感謝老師與所有其他國籍的學生)
I am an international student who is studying in the U.S. This is an awesome lesson for those who are struggling with their English, and I really appreciate to you.
You're such an amazing teacher!! You explain things so well that I always understand what you say. Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge in this simple and interesting way 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I admit it was great. I've recently searched for some video like this, but I couldn't find it and was stressed that I can't learn CAUSATIVE. So now I'm thrilled that I've met you. You're a lifesaver.
Do you meant to said. "This teacher is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever seen." Also, you can aways say. " This is an amazing instructor to learn from."
I passed a lot of years without watching engvid. The videos, the making of, has changed dramatically. Now, I’m trying to get the B2 in settembr and I realised that’s these videos never will seem old fashioned. In fact, they are my first source to study. A shame that a lot of teachers left the channel. Whatever, thank you everyone, all of them.
The video you showed us helps me a lot especially that it's a little difficult for me to speak English fluently. Enjoy making educational videos. There are million of people out there getting benefits from watching your videos.
I am in Turkey. This year we learn this grammer. I listened my subject but I don't understand. Tomorrow we will have an exam and watch this video. I understand this grammer. I say thank you so much. I hope you will succeed
I'm so happy to find this lesson. At last I have understood the different causitive verbs. Tell the truth, in this case the passive is more familiar to an Hungarian. But I could understand how to use the active causitive verbs, which are very strange because of their word order. Thank you very much.
I am grateful for your explanation. These structures are so challenging for me because I am only on the beginning of B2 and it's not as easy task to achieve upper- intermediate.
great lesson. I already knew how to do the passive causitive but nothing about the active and the use of the verbs make, let and get. this one and all your other videos have been really helpful for me since I started to learn english 8 month ago. thaks
You made the lesson easy Adam , thanks a lot . I am having m'y Friend cut m'y hair . I let m'y Friend drive me to the parties . We had Adam explain the lesson . I had m'y phone fixed
that's a great video.. as an English teacher for ESL students in Brazil, I always use your explanations in class... I've got a vast material to use with them but everytime I put your videos on, it's fantastic to see how they understand everything amazingly..
I think causative verb should be considered advance level grammar lesson. Although Adam's explanation is clear enough, but I am still kind of confused.
Adam, would it be correct to say that the active form is used when you want to emphasize "Who" or "What" performed the action, and the passive form is to emphasize what action was done? Your answer will help me even more. The explanation is concise and clear. Thank you.
Hey everyone, I would like to ask something about this lesson. We did not use preposition TO for first three actıve sentences but at the fourth sentence, we used TO SEW. May someone explain this? I'm confused
+Kemal Gunes It's just the way that particular fixed expression works. The problem is that Adam really didn't explain very well what "get" means in this particular expression. In this expression, "get" means "to persuade." So we could also say "Jane persuaded her sister to sew her a nice dress." Verbs such as "persuade" and "ask" take the full infinitive ("to" + base verb) after them, not just the base verb. So "get," when used as a synonym for "persuade," also requires the full infinitive rather than just the base verb. Does that explanation make sense?
Hey Lee Cox! We should make Adam hire you! hehe.. Seriously, you explained what I was looking for, so, thank you and thank Kermal Gunes for asking such specific question.
Excuse me, if I say "The cat licked the plate clean" or "He ate himself sick" what is the name of this verbal construction in English Grammar? I need the technical name as grammar topic. Thank you, My greetings to you.
such a great teacher you are adam. i just want you to know that you are the first people i can understand completely. after listened your lesson and understood it all. i d got my self confident and able to make great conversations. 😀
I HAD the barber cut my hair (ho FATTO tagliare i capelli dal barbiere) VS I had my hair cut (by the barber) (mi sono tagliato /(fatto tagliare) i capelli)
From Syria Thanks a bunch for such an amazing explanation, Actually this topic isn't an easy one, but you have made it easy to understand and apply. Keep it up Adam 💛
I love the way you teach, I really like your videos! This one was so useful to me, thanks a lot. The explanation about the active and passive uses is the key, I hadn't found that information in other videos. That's what makes the huge difference as well as the good examples, you put them in a context what helps you to get familiar with them quicker.
Thank you very much for the topics of English grammatics you explain. They are always out of my ability to understand. Now I feel much better with it. Thank you many many times.
I am from India, assam. I have been understood by you that how to make causative sentence. So, i am gland to the class. Thank you my big brother. Good night
Thanks Adam, I have being watching your English lessons , and Iam really glad, because I understand everything you say, I will keep listening and watching your videos and I sure I am going to improve my English soon , thank you very much.
This is the best explanation posted. You answered something I was wondering about. In "I had her cut my hair," is the objective verb "her" actually the subject of the verb cut? That would seem odd. But you referred to it as an agent. Apparently an agent need not be in the subjective case.
I enjoy Adam's lessons not only because he explains everything clearly, understandable, but also because he has great personalities ~ funny, happy, positive, humorous, approachable like.
Adam, one of the best teacher ever👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
