    I am a Taiwanese English teacher.
    (我是一個台灣的英文老師)
    The reason why my English is so good in comparsion with most of my fellow Taiwanese is that I have been constantly learning and practicing English.
    (我英文能力之所以比其他台灣大多數同胞來得強是因為我不間斷地學習與練習英文)
    Hopefully the average Emglish ability level for Taiwanese can improve a lot in the very near future.
    (希望台灣的平均英語實力能在不久的將來大大地進步)
    I have finished watching this video completely.
    (我已經完整地看完了這個影片)
    This video is awesome!!!!
    (這個影片棒呆了!!!)
    It is bloody useful!!
    (真是夭壽實用!!!)
    Big thanks to the teacher and all the fellow students around the world.
    (大大地感謝老師與所有其他國籍的學生)

    I passed a lot of years without watching engvid. The videos, the making of, has changed dramatically. Now, I’m trying to get the B2 in settembr and I realised that’s these videos never will seem old fashioned. In fact, they are my first source to study. A shame that a lot of teachers left the channel. Whatever, thank you everyone, all of them.

    I'm so happy to find this lesson. At last I have understood the different causitive verbs. Tell the truth, in this case the passive is more familiar to an Hungarian. But I could understand how to use the active causitive verbs, which are very strange because of their word order. Thank you very much.

    Adam, would it be correct to say that the active form is used when you want to emphasize "Who" or "What" performed the action, and the passive form is to emphasize what action was done? Your answer will help me even more. The explanation is concise and clear. Thank you.

    Hey everyone,
    I would like to ask something about this lesson. We did not use preposition TO for first three actıve sentences but at the fourth sentence, we used TO SEW.
    May someone explain this? I'm confused

    • @legaleagle46
      @legaleagle46 8 років тому +1

      +Kemal Gunes It's just the way that particular fixed expression works.
      The problem is that Adam really didn't explain very well what "get" means in this particular expression. In this expression, "get" means "to persuade." So we could also say "Jane persuaded her sister to sew her a nice dress." Verbs such as "persuade" and "ask" take the full infinitive ("to" + base verb) after them, not just the base verb. So "get," when used as a synonym for "persuade," also requires the full infinitive rather than just the base verb. Does that explanation make sense?

      @Naacho87 6 років тому

      Hey Lee Cox! We should make Adam hire you! hehe.. Seriously, you explained what I was looking for, so, thank you and thank Kermal Gunes for asking such specific question.

    This is the best explanation posted. You answered something I was wondering about. In "I had her cut my hair," is the objective verb "her" actually the subject of the verb cut? That would seem odd. But you referred to it as an agent. Apparently an agent need not be in the subjective case.
