- Today is the day for Elga to take flight! 🐥 At 83 days old, Elga was flapping her wings and going back and forth on the branches and nest. She heads to the left branch and takes off with purpose and flies for the first time! at 03:49 Elga will return to the nest about 6 hours later! She heads to her spot on the right branch and then Inesh drops in and joins her! Beautiful coverage of the siblings perched together at sunset ♥ Congratulations Elga!! Now both eaglets are free flying juveniles! Thank you for watching!

The eaglets are banded H29 for the boy and A85 for the girl (oldest). ♥ Elga hatches May 29th and Inesh May 30th.
The project is conducted by the staff of the Nizhnyaya Kama National Park.
The camera in the nest was installed as a part of the project "Conservation of eagle populations living in the territory of PJSC Tatneft operation". The live stream has been live since 2021. The project is also actively supported by birdwatchers and volunteers. The project manager is Rinur Bekmansurov.
The previous couple of eagles had names Altyn (male) and Altynay (female).
In 2024, there was a change of female. A new female received the name Nova. Thank you for watching!

Well done, beautiful little Elga🤩. It's always nice to observe the behavior when the young birds are about to take their first flight. The picture of the two of them looking side by side into the sunset is incredibly beautiful and really touched me🥲

Congratulations mom and dad , and Elga you are awesome. I wish I had seen more of this nest. I was watching many others this season, but I missed the majority of this one. Through this wonderful video and montage I can capture the power and the grace of these wonderful Eagles, and also the magical moment of the sunset with the siblings together - Inset and Elga truly powerful. No matter how many times I see one fledge it always brings a tear to the eye as they are beginning a new journey, and a new path ahead. I always think of them thriving with like their parents one day it makes letting go easier. According to the livestream of this nest (the English text) the name of the girl is Yelga, not Elga. But what’s in a name…., what matters is that she fledged and is free to fly❣️

Happy to see Elga fledge !! Praying Inesh will be ok after consuming ketchup container. I will say l have never seen an eaglet land with their feet so far apart but maybe it’s just something l never paid attention to. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the days ahead.
