Are gambling licenses such a bad thing? We talk as if it's a big no-no, but i could think of a lot of potential game improvements that might need a gambling licence. For example a P2E draft mode that you can win free entries for in reward boxes etc.. Would it kill the game?
Don't have a lot of knowlege about this, so there's probably a bunch of legal rigamarole that would be problematic

They are bad because they are expensive and would be required in every country they do business in.

They already did nerf. The boxes got nerfed into shit. Not half way through but 2 months later. Why is this so much different then if they would nerf the cash reward amounts?

Nerfing essence and nerfing cash is very different.

@@soraredatashow Both were advertised as a part of the reward system. Both have monetary value to them. Sure, one has less then the other. But if the amount of value is the key factor. At what amount is it ok to false advertise to sell a product. With a false promise to be able to get that reward? (Essence amount is much less now to craft cards. Which have monetary value.) I don't know what is the dollar amount. But pretty sure for many people the essence difference is several dollars a GW (for limited) . Count that up to the remainder of the season and when you play limited that is quite the difference.
They put the reward system out in summer. With the essence amounts. We bought cards based on that. They changed it 2-3 month later.
It doesn't matter if it made sense for them to change. In my opinion its no way different then to change the cash amounts throughout the season. The only difference is the value. But that begs the question at what value do you draw the line? If they changed the cash amount by lowering them 1%. Would that be ok? 2%? 5%?
