This clip reminds me of a 'nonsense' rhyme my dad used to tell us kids. I got told off for saying it in class, lol! "As I was walking down our street, I thought I smelt some kippers. I asked a lady what it was, she said she'd peed her knickers".
This is brilliant. Dennis Norden is not the best interviewer but good guests make it so funny. By the way We had a slightly different version the limerick about the man from dundee: There was a young man from Dundee When stung in the arm by a wasp And asked did it hurt he said not at all He can do it again if he likes.
Well hardly anyone who makes television today would even know Denis Norden's name, shame on them, but he and Frank Muir both together, and apart, made some of the best comedy of their era. Plus Denis on here plus It'll Be Alright On The Night, Frank on Call My Bluff, and both of them on My Word and My Music. They just don't make them like that anymore, more's the pity.
iwas at tottennham court rd studios with mr nordon for a show with val guest jimmy tarbuck and beryl reid fantastic time trying to dig up more episodes and jimmy tarbucks father great chap
Then you don't get how tv works, everything Norden asks is agreed in advance, he is 'feeding' segways into each of their 'bit about's not randomly trying to find small talk
Denis Norden must have had something go wrong in his brain to have Castle and Barker on the show; the former so full of himself it's a wonder he never exploded and the latter a snobbish turd.
Roy Castle was one of the most humble and down to earth people I have ever known and I knew him very well. That's why it's best to keep one's own ignorant prejudices to oneself.
People were so genteel, civil and intelligent in their manner, demeanor and conversation - just so much more human.
Happy days 👍🇬🇧
Roy Castle was so nice. Met him in Liverpool many years ago. Lovely man.
they were all good but ronnie barker was so clever when it came to words very gifted
I love Ronnie Barker's pismronounciation sketch and I remember the limerick told by Roy Castle
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 76yo Aussie fan.
All you Yobbos,try interviewing yourselves.
Somebody should put up the whole series. It's a gold mine.
At last I realise that feeling I got watching Richard Hammond. He reminds me of Roy Castle.

Ronnie Barker is too modest here. Like his impression of Richie Benaud in one of the Two Ronnies sketches. He got the vocal tics and rhythms.
Yeh, Don't forget Patrick's younger brother (The sky at nite), that was so funny...
Interesting show
Ronnie B has such a lovely smile. Sadly missed 😔
ronnie is funny!

I used to love this show. Shame about the missing clips.

2:34 A confusing edit. It seems Ronnie is talking about cataloging people when he's talking about postcards I guess.
CHALLENGE:
Spot the live one!
and now i know where graham norton got the idea from
I was on a TV show with Roy Castle.
Roy Castle was a pain in the arse.
Janet Brown was great as Maggie Thatcher or was that Faith Brown?🤔
Barker, a very brilliant but cold man
not bad, shame norden wasn't that good at interviewing people tho
Then you don't get how tv works, everything Norden asks is agreed in advance, he is 'feeding' segways into each of their 'bit about's not randomly trying to find small talk
Ridiculous comment. Norden was excellent on this.
All of them. Completely dead.

Never funny . Thought he was . Crap English humour
Racist!
Any chance you can repeat that in English? 🤔
Bloody Micks
