Hi Edgar, I know for a fact that they are genuine EMG’s as it is illegal to sell counterfeit goods and I am sure Thomann would not do something like this. In regards to pots and wiring, I am not 100% sure, so I will open the cavities to find out. But if I am completely honest, I believe that the pots aren’t EMGs neither is the switch and all of the electronics are hardwired and not solderless. However, before I make assumptions, I will found out myself and make a video on it showing everyone how the components are wired. Wes \m/
@@WesleyGuitarWebb thanks man, i am thinking about getting same Explorer, but i am rly confused which one to take. With rosewells and swap them by myself, cause good sets like emgs or fishmann fluence they are selling them as a pack, there is a good wires and pots for pickups. Or take this one already with emgs
Edgar Kurm I had the same thought process as you. If you want EMG 81/60 then I’d recommend getting this particular guitar as it will be cheaper to buy the guitar as is. However, if you want a different set of EMGs or Fishman in the guitar, I’d recommend getting the Roswell Model. I hope this helps 😄 Wes \m/
Hi, I’m not sure about the old ESP or Gibson as I’ve never owned one before. But I would say they are similar to the new LTD explorer shapes. However it is smaller than the Epiphone 1984 reissue
Not noticeable from looking at it but when you play it, there is quite a difference. It’s not too bulky and is a hell of a lot lighter haha I believe epiphones are the same size as Gibson’s, but I could be wrong
My pleasure dude! If you are thinking of purchasing one, please consider using my partner link in the description of this video, it doesn’t increase any costs to you but it will really help me out making future videos 😄 Cheers Wes \m/
Hi Nova, I’m not quite sure. I don’t believe they are but I will look into this for you ASAP and get back to you in it 👍 Wes \m/ P.s sorry for the late reply
Great review but a trick missed. At the beginning you are standing and playing and during you mention neck dive. With Explorers, Firebirds, Vs etc it can be a battle to play them, I would love for reviewers to just let go of their left hand (in this case) and see how whether it slightly droops or full on crashes to the floor!
Thank you for your feedback! Leave it with me and I will make a short video showing the neck dive. The reason I didn’t show the neck dive at the beginning was because the strap I used was suede underneath and would not have moved. However, I will purchase a nylon type strap to show how far the neck drops 🙂 Thanks for watching 🙂 Wes \m/
Hey! Great Rev! I have questions - Do You think this guitar will be good if I wish Play the Bands Like G"n"R , Bon Jovi , Skid Row Slaughter , Def Leppard ..but I wish Play yet Megadeth ,Annihilator , Metallica Savatage.I have Squier Vibe 50 but I want changes .And This HB84 EMG ..stolen my heart ..What do You Think ?
Only thing putting me off from this guitar is the smaller explorer body i like full size explorers ( tried a Chapman ghost fret for example and it's the exact same dimensions body wise and didn't get on with it at all) and the smaller horn just something about it, but the price is so right for something like this! I'm so torn between not bothering to get one and suck it up and buy one lol would you honestly recommend it wes? Especially with all that info i just told you
I completely understand where you are coming from and I was hesitant too as I thought it might look strange on me as I’m 6ft, but in all honesty (I’m not being paid by anyone and I bought this out of my own pocket) it is probably one of the best guitars that I own (I own a Gibson and a PRS). I can’t put it down and I use it for all of my Metal guitar covers or related videos. I even use it for some clean stuff as the Neck EMG pick up just sounds so nice with a bit of reverb and delay 😍 It is so easy to play, the Frets are well polished and the neck is comfortable to play. The tummy cut is also a big bonus for me as sitting down with it just feels so natural and comfortable! Honestly as solid 9.5/10 in my book! I hope this helps and thanks for watching 😄 Wes \m/
@@WesleyGuitarWebb I'm 6'5 haha hence my almost need for a normal size explorer, I had haloguitars ( strongly recommend fucking around with the custom builder thing on their website it's very addictng being able to choose body shape, top options headstock, colour, pickups, bridge, hardware colour all that fun stuff) they were slapped on the wrist by Gibson about their explorer shape, but I custom ordered one and the first thing i put in the special options I was like make the guitar a fourth larger than a normal size and it's enough to notice but it doesn't look silly, so I'm just totally wary of the ghost frets and these EX's but I trust your opinion and that's what i was saying it's so right for the money! How the fuck am i supposed to not like it lol but maybe I'll pick one up in the next few weeks, ill return too the comments here if I do or message you on socials, you got Instagram?

how tall are you? want to know how big the guitar would be in proportion to me.
Hi Balle, I am 6ft. The guitar hight wise is probably 3-4ft tall (give or take)

Is the 2021 version I ordered any different in any way? Do you know?
Hi Diego, that I am aware if there should be no difference between them 😄 if they did there would have been very slight improvements 😃

@@WesleyGuitarWebb sweet! Just hope the vintage white isn’t too white. Looking forward to the EMG’S.
8 weeks away now! But I am in the U.K. so Brexit will likely slow that down.
Why does it sound like ass when he's playing at 6:00 ?
Are they using original Made in USA EMGs with original emg pots and wiring?
Hi Edgar, I know for a fact that they are genuine EMG’s as it is illegal to sell counterfeit goods and I am sure Thomann would not do something like this. In regards to pots and wiring, I am not 100% sure, so I will open the cavities to find out. But if I am completely honest, I believe that the pots aren’t EMGs neither is the switch and all of the electronics are hardwired and not solderless. However, before I make assumptions, I will found out myself and make a video on it showing everyone how the components are wired.

I hope this helps 😄

@@WesleyGuitarWebb yes, thanks!
Hi, how much smaller would you say it is to a old ESP or Gibson one?
Hi, I’m not sure about the old ESP or Gibson as I’ve never owned one before. But I would say they are similar to the new LTD explorer shapes.
However it is smaller than the Epiphone 1984 reissue
@@WesleyGuitarWebb Okay, is it very noticable or just a little? i think the Gibson and Epiphone have the same sizes not sure tho!
Not noticeable from looking at it but when you play it, there is quite a difference. It’s not too bulky and is a hell of a lot lighter haha
I believe epiphones are the same size as Gibson’s, but I could be wrong
@@WesleyGuitarWebb thanks for answering definently getting one!
My pleasure dude! If you are thinking of purchasing one, please consider using my partner link in the description of this video, it doesn’t increase any costs to you but it will really help me out making future videos 😄
Cheers

are the pickups quick connect?
Hi Nova, I’m not quite sure. I don’t believe they are but I will look into this for you ASAP and get back to you in it 👍

P.s sorry for the late reply
hey, a little late to the party - how's the action in terms of soloing? thanks
However, I will purchase a nylon type strap to show how far the neck drops 🙂
Thanks for watching 🙂

Hey!
YEA, FINALLY A BUDGET GUITAR GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY HANGAR 18 ON
Only thing putting me off from this guitar is the smaller explorer body i like full size explorers ( tried a Chapman ghost fret for example and it's the exact same dimensions body wise and didn't get on with it at all) and the smaller horn just something about it, but the price is so right for something like this!
I even use it for some clean stuff as the Neck EMG pick up just sounds so nice with a bit of reverb and delay 😍
It is so easy to play, the Frets are well polished and the neck is comfortable to play. The tummy cut is also a big bonus for me as sitting down with it just feels so natural and comfortable!
Honestly as solid 9.5/10 in my book!
I hope this helps and thanks for watching 😄

How the fuck am i supposed to not like it lol but maybe I'll pick one up in the next few weeks, ill return too the comments here if I do or message you on socials, you got Instagram?
this thing is so good clean, but, distortion just got fuzzy to me. Maybe it's my speakers. Sounds spot on, just fuzzy.
Когда Илюха еще не снял обзор на эксплорер от HB...
are these real emg pups??? or Chinese knock offs? for that price it makes no sense???
They’re the real deal! It’s illegal to counterfeit products and I don’t think Thomann would risk getting sued 👍
But yes they are indeed real 😃👍

What amp are you using?
I use the Hughes and Kettner Black Spirit 200 that plugs directly into my presonus then straight into my iMac 🖥
Thanks man, sounds great with the emg 81, one of the best metal tones ive heard 🤘
@@bernardthehaster2016 no worries dude! I love my H&K, there are so many factory presets even ones specifically for EMG!!
That thing looks beast! Great playing, too!
