Brilliant idea and superbly built! 👌
Thank you very much! Regards JP
I've lived seven years in this house and was never curious enough to have a look in the roof cavity until I watched your video. I'm in awe of what you achieve up there in such a small space. Subscribed
Thank you. I am glad I provoked your curiosity. Regards JP
Electric Hot glue gun (attached to DeWalt battery), PVA glue, Grooves with floating tenons, and Pocket hole screws! All in a space the size of my bathroom? What wizardry is this!!!? I'm both baffled and deeply impressed. Well played my friend... well played.
Thank you Aaron. Regards JP
Very nice!
Thank you Mike. Regards JP
Can't believe I found this video, Im just about to make a folding workbench in the loft I converted into a work shop!
Hi Andrew. I am thrilled you found it useful. Regards JP
Great design and execution, mate!
Thank you Garrett. Regards JP
Looks really good John you are giving Peter Millard a run for his money with a fold up work MFT work bench 😁
Thanks for watching. His latest video did convince me to buy the Festool!
I love innovative ideas, well done 😁😎
Thank you. Regards JP
I just found your project of foldding workbench...one of the nicest (if not the most)!!! I love your ideia
Thanks Nuno. Regards JP
Hi brilliant idea
Steve
Thanks Regards JP
I love it. Great job
Thank you. 👍
Que buen trabajo, mi enhorabuena.
Now, that was a great video. Maybe when I am skilled enough, I will try this project.
You can do it!
Hi, recently found your channel. This is a great build, thank you, it has given me some ideas.
Excellent. Enjoy your build.
Nice Job Fun Build
Thank you Henry
😁 You've got to use a cup of tea to christen new work benches! It's the law in this country! What a fantastically designed and made bench. When you lift that cup up, you'll find the true definition of "benchmark"! 😁😉
😂 Thanks for your comment regards JP
Nice build. Found you via Grumpa and really impressed by your channel 👍
Thank you John for your kind comment. Regards JP.
great concept & nicely finished, John. I only wish you hadn't sacrificed your blueprints as you drilled the dog-holes !🙃
😂👍 regards JP
Love your ingenuity in making use of an otherwise junk space in which to be creative. Some great ideas which I shall shamelessly be stealing when I make my workbench after I move house next year. Just wondered what the overall dimensions of the finished bench are as I have a mini bench already designed to go on top of the main bench and want to know if your bench would be wide enough. Like you, I have all my plans in my head, so I'm prone to making the odd booboo from time to time. I think we should show our mistakes as we learn from them and they can become OPMs for other people. (OPM Other People's Mistakes)
Hi. The bench top was cut from 2 x 12mm x 1220 x 610 sheets. The finish size is 650 x 1150mm with the nosings. The base is 600 x 1000 and stand 900mm high. Mistakes are all part of the process. I've dropped some real clangers in my time. OPM are a bit cheaper! :-) Regards JP
My brother! Great video! This would be a cool DJ table. Is it stable to hold DJ equipment. I like how it folds! Great design! Sending you positive vibes from San Jose, California
Thank you. I can sit / stand on it easily and I weigh 72 kg = 154 pounds. Would that work?
Hola amigo !! muy bueno tu banco desarmable !! ideal para espacios pequeños o solo sacarlo cuando uno lo nesecite , Saludos.
Gracias. Saludos JP.
Hi John, another great video thank you. I’ve only recently found your channel (and subscribed) and I’m really enjoying the content of your videos.
I wonder if I could ask a question? At 00:44 you mention fitting your “grooving blade” in your table saw. Would you please let me know where I can get one of these blades because I’ve searched the internet looking for “flat ground blades” and always drawn a blank. Many thanks if you can help but no bother if you can’t. Cheers.
Michael. I bought in on Amazon. Please find the link

I also made a video about this. ua-cam.com/video/UL1R2T-35Zo/v-deo.html
Thanks for your comments and sub. Regards JP.
@@Smallbarnworkshop Many thanks John, much appreciated.
Nice bench mate👍where did you get your grooving blade and what is the radius, curf and the bore size? Info will be appreciated.
Hi. I bought it on Amazon. Its a 6mm kerf - I think they also sell 4 and 5mm. I made a video about it here ua-cam.com/video/UL1R2T-35Zo/v-deo.html. Thanks for watching Regards JP
Great design. Narration too soft, music too loud, video sometimes too jerky, some details not clearly visible. But, I subscribed anyway. Likely to build this, or a close copy.
Thanks Edward. It is one of my earlier videos and I was trying to figure editing out. Regards JP
Brill build....brill skills...brill idea!....the pleasure is in the making !!
...but a ply version in avaliable on ebay for 160 quid ish!...
Not bought one or seen one so can't say what quality is, bit thay look fine.
G
I saw those benches on ebay when I was investigating buying my latest MFT top. I'm sure they copied my design 😁 regards JP
@@Smallbarnworkshop narr been on ebay for a few years ....seen loads on UA-cam USA home builders....no copying...but yours is good
Even though your joiner by trade, 10 out of 10 for the way you utilise the space and the ideas. Was wondering if you could give any info on your saw set up. Ive got the top, the same fence and a track square. Also got 2 large dogs that slip into the track so was wondering is your track permantly there? Sure i seen you slip it out of the wall & a table on another vid. Any info would be a massive help. Good luck. Keep it up.
Hi Steven. Thé Benchdog square and fence lives almost permanently in my fold down MFT along with my 800mm track. I use the 1400mm tracks for cuts elsewhere. I have the height set at 21mm so the saw just hovers over the stock I’m cutting. The front end of the track is supported by my diy rail support. Thank you for your view and comments. Regards JP
Thanks alot for taking time out. Im only 7 months into my journey so i fully appreciate your info. Keep them vids coming.
No worries Steven. Keep racking up the experience. 👍
That clamp that you bolt onto the top do you have any other info on how that's made? Like the folding workbench.
Hi Pat. Thanks. This clamp?

@@Smallbarnworkshop This is the one I thought you made it. I have a torsion box top so these wont work for me.
Pat. I use the rail clamps and a rachet rail clamp on my torsion box. Regards JP
How many kilo does it weight ?
Good question. I will come back to you on that - away with work at the moment.
Hi. Not sure if you prefer KG or Pound? So pounds in brackets. Base 16.3 kg (36) top 9.3kg (20) out of interest why do you want to know weight?
You're a Festool Guy who drilled at 100mm centers... The Horror! 🤣
Hi. I made this just before I got into Festool ( my TS55 was delivered during this build) and understood the joy of 96mm centres 😂 Regards JP
@@Smallbarnworkshop I know they have a reason for 96mm. Anyone else would round up!
Sorry, but what is MFT?
A web search comes up with around a hundred MFT acronyms, but none seem to be relevant.
Hi John. Below cut and paste from Internet is best description. Regards JP
An intersting element of the Festool system is the MFT table (MFT for multifunction table), actualy in version 3. It is both a workbench and an precision tool. ... A set of jigs to drill accurately your table top. A set of inexpensive DIY clamps to enjoy your multifunction table.
you didnt show how it folds
Hi. it’s in the intro at the beginning. Regards JP
