Keeping a well stocked pantry definitely eases my anxiety- yesterday i tested positive for covid and am very under the weather (yes, i am vaxed and boosted- my personal choice) I live alone and hate to lean on others. Because my pantry is well stocked, i have all i need for myself and my kitties and don't need to ask for help. The only commodity that cannot be replaced is time Tori- and your precious little ones are only this age once- i applaud your efforts to spend more time with them and wish you all of the very best! ❤

I quit my job 22 years ago when I had my first child. It was a leap of faith as it cut our income in half. We have not regretted it for one day. I consider my job to be saving money by being fugal and creative in the way we use our funds. Sometimes it was hard, but we never went hungry. I have homeschooled all of our children, my youngest daughter has one more year 😢. None of them have ever complained that they were homeschooled, they are thankful. I have been truly blessed to be able to spend all of these years raising and teaching my children, it was the best decision my husband and I have ever made. You will love it! And I am sure you will be a great teacher!

@@MountainMommaLiving Thanks. I like to leave an encouraging comment when I hear someone is making a decision to homeschool. It seems like there are plenty of people who question a parents’ ability and wisdom that I like to let people know (from a person who has actually done it) that it can be such a good experience, not without challenges, but so fulfilling and rewarding. ❤️

Great job prepping and preparing! My advice is to just take one year at a time with schooling. It might work for a year and you decide to do something different the next year because of location change or anything else. The best advice I can give is to not think too long in the future. Take each season as it comes. It’s hard not to do that but try to keep that in mind. My biggest worries are when I’m trying to plan too far in the future. It adds too much stress and honestly, it’s pointless. Things will work out.

I’m so glad it helped. I think I need the reminder at times as well. It’s just something we all want to do - plan plan plan .. but we can’t always do that. Try to be prepared, yes. But let things play out also. 💕

We only food shop at Kroger. My son used to work in produce there and is very good at looking for sales and mark downs. When my husband retired from one job, he assumed he could find another job right away. He was out of work for 6 months. We had a nice food stock pile and that is what we lived on during that time. He is now a true believer in keeping a good store of foods so we are both on the same path. My son does our grocery shopping for us becuse he is very thorough in finding deals, sales, keeping an inventory or foods on hand and such. My husband and I worked opposite shifts for years to avoid daycare and when I quit work we actually broke even due to commute time, lunches out, etc.

At Kroger this week I got:
    Grapes .99/pound
    Apples .99/pound
    Chicken .99/pound
    Avocados .57/each
    Tortillas .97/pack
Those were my stock up items this week from our kroger. And I also stocked up on...oh...i to get the name...but the heat things that you use for catering. I bought 25 of them.
YES!! I open my pantry and I like pat myself on the back....I've worked my tail off stocking that pantry....which has legit overflows to other places😂😂😂 but we are basically prepping for 5 adults....(I'm including my daughters fiance) everyone needs to have some stuff put up....I mean...look at Shanghai 😭
You will do great being home. It's amazing the money and time you will save!! I loved being home and can't wait till I'm home again. My problem now is.....I love my patients!! But when I'm home...lol....I love cooking, gardening, having the house in order, I love having dinner on the table when my husband gets home....I even love laundry when I dont have to rush😂😂😂 plus .......a homeschool day is much shorter than a school day...and kids dont have to spend the whole night doing homework on top of being at school all day. Plus....there are usually homeschool groups...for kids to get together and do field trips, sports or picnics etc.
Tell me how those bowl things are from walmart. I picked them up...but put them back for something else.

Several years ago my husband's company was ready to do a lay off and we knew the decision was going to be between him and a married man with two children in being kept in that department. I told him to quit and let the other man keep the job. I told him if I needed him to find work I would let him know. We learned we saved more than expected with him no longer commuting to work, maintaining a professional wardrobe, etc, that we are only down maybe $50 a week. I was easily able to make up for it and even on just my income, we have never done better. I know you will do this!

Hey Tori, I love your talks with us. I think it’s great that your going to be able to grow with your kiddos as you stay home with them & teach them. You will find that you won’t really be missing that much monetarily. You will be saving on gas, eating out at lunch, babysitter, wear/tear on vehicle etc. but even with that, the special bond between your family is priceless and well worth any sacrifice. I haven’t been big shopping in a bit so haven’t checked out sales flyers but I did a little shopping this morning. I was so shocked that the carton of 18 eggs that was less than $2 a few weeks ago, is now over $4 at Walmart. Anyways. Thanks for caring for others and for sharing your lives with us. Hey Mountain Momma Living, I just wanted to say I love your videos! I'm graduating with a SPED teaching degree in December and I'm also really into long term food storage. We also grow some of our food and raise chickens. Plus I have a 2 y/o son. I'm in NC, but I feel like we'd be good friends if we met or taught at the same school. Haha I love your vibe! Keep putting out awesome content, I'm here for it!🙌
Edit: During my student teaching(in hs), I've seen a lot of kids that are hungry. In my classroom I keep a basket with granola bars, crackers, and stuff like that. I get the stuff for free or very little cost through couponing. I also keep another basket of hygiene items like soap, toothbrushes, and pads. When I'm on lunch duty, I see lots of kids that are coming up short to pay for $3 meals from the cafeteria and to be honest, these meals aren't providing the nutrition a teenager needs. It just breaks my heart so I'm trying to do what I can to help my students.

Hi Tory👋👋👋 Great hauls, you intrigued me with your Ice Melt IPA drinks, I’m very clueless about them but see those types of beverages, whenever I’m around my nephew & his wife, they enjoy them, I’m gonna have to taste them next time I’m w/them, which should be relatively soon bc my 1st “great niece” Delaney Rae is scheduled to be delivered on May 4th, I’m so excited, her original due date was the 17th but she’s ready, anyhoo, very interesting drinks🤔 I’m proud of you for making the decision to stop working, at this time, bc why work when the only monetary benefit of it covers the cost of childcare and the gas, that’s crazy, IMO so rather than doing that you get to spend the time w/your littles and save that money for whatever, besides it doesn’t mean that you won’t go back to teaching, in the future, after your littles are established in their schooling, so bravo👏👏👏 You also can see how much more you can do with your online shop etc, you’re so talented👍👍👍 I enjoy you so much, you’re such a kind soul🫶 I hope you have a wonderful weekend, enjoy and be happy♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️
