I am a die hard bass fisherman but you have definitely opened my eyes to catfishing. I may have to try out the Detroit River this spring... Keep the videos coming .
Steve you rock the catfish boat ole buddy! ! Thanks to you and your videos I'm now the proud owner of two new tangling with Catfish extreme poles and two Catmaxx reels just like my Hero. Robert J. Oliver Photographer thanks for dropping by to leave a comment Robert, I have tried to get lisa to fish but she doesnt have the interest in it she said, she likes being behind the camera she says. But I will show her your kind comment, she is an awesome camera person and works hard to get the shots.
Another great video Steve. Watching these trips brings back memories of trips to Lake Norman with my uncle in his old bass boat. That was where i caught my first decent channel cat and ever since then I have loved to fish. Thank you for your example of good sportsmanship and respect for the beautiful creation God has given us to play in. Hopefully some day I can afford a decent boat to try some of these techniques on the rivers near me.
Couldn't have found a better way to spend my lunch than watching some fishing. Been too hot here lately around Pickwick for me to get out much so I appreciate the video Steve!
Steve that was an awesome video of drift fishing 🎣 may God bless you in every way Steve be safe on the water 💦 thanks for taking the time to make the video sincerely Bryan Crigger from Newark Ohio
Thank you for the video Steve. Your tips really have helped me up my fish count. Between you and Kris from muddyrivercatfishing I have learned more about catfishing than I ever thought possible. Keep the great videos coming!
Hi Steve, I am running a little late getting to watch this video but I finally made it. Just got off the Ohio River. My brother and I caught 7 this evening. Thanks for all the instructional videos that made that possible. I have been using a lot of your instructions and doing well. As always this is a great video to watch. I like to save and replay these when there is a foot of snow on the ground. Stay safe and we will be watching for the next edition. Tom
Hey Steve, just wanted to stop by and say what a inspiration to me you are. me being 16, I really look up to you and want to catch some cats as big as you do one day. I like your longer videos aswell. thanks for all the tips and tricks you have taught us over the past year. Keep catching the big ones buddy!!
Steve love the videos you are an awesome at what you do. Love seeing the awesome action and tips you give to us and help us out. Keep it up and look forward to more videos.
Always enjoy watching Steve's videos. I have made an observation, & would like to pass along an experience, may save my fishing bruthahood a little grief. I used to wear sandals , or clog type shoes while fishing. Kicking them off for comfort (can be a hook hazard). 1 evening, I got up to check a rod or possibly throw the net for bait, whatever, & a sandal type shoe, halfway came off a foot, causing loss foot to slide & trip me. I came down on the gunnel HARD with a shin & knee impact. Fellas, I'm tellin ya, it hurt like the devil, & was painful for quite some time. It finally stopped bothering me, but had me concerned about damage for a good while. It's laced on boots ,shoes, or bare feet for me now. Good fishin to all.
I enjoy watching your fish videos, Steve. You've taught me a lot. I live near Portsmouth. I like to kayak fish but haven't got up the nerve to fish the Ohio other than off the bank. I'm not sure what I'd do if I cough one those monsters. I wanted to go to your conference last month but need to be with my mother who is a Hospice patient. Maybe next year.
Great video, really like to see spots I fish on regular basis. Lol lets me know they are there even if I can't catch them. Always looking forward to the next video. Thanks Steve
Hey Steve, really enjoyed this video and liked how you said in the beginning and end, have some fun, and mostly have some patience. So many people I fish with are ready to leave if they don't catch a fish in the first 15 mins.
I enjoy watching your fish videos, Steve. You've taught me a lot. I live near Portsmouth. I like to kayak fish but haven't got up the nerve to fish the Ohio in it. I'm not sure what I'd do if I cough one those monsters.
I must say with your skill and your cam guy I would rather watch you than any fishing show on TV always like seeing your vids in my sub box. keep them coming.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I fish the Ohio river about 40 miles south of Louisville ky every chance I get. My results are quite different than yours of course. But I really appreciate you taking the time to explain what your doing and why! Love your new boat btw!!
Im doing good steve. Hope you are doing good steve! I hope get to go fishing this weekend catch some cats ,some biggins that would nice. Have good one steve.
Hey Steve, great video! Nice cats your catching! I haven't been catfishing for while im ready to go now after watching this video. Think mit hit the river this weekend do some catfishing. Keep catching the biggins and keep the videos coming.
great video steve. ive been keeping up with your videos the last 6-7 months now, i would like to see you fish from the bank one day tho! thats all i can fish right now, working on getting a boat, out here in texas. keep up the good work!
o i guess your turning them all loose. lol. my mistake i thought sure you were going eat some . still love the feel of this vid it has a different component that most of us average guys can relate to. good vid. keep them coming
Nice video Steve. I went to the weight in at Metropolis the boats were way down this year. Catches no where near what they were last year being the rivers were so high and falling. Maybe next year.
Awesome video Steve! don't hold me to it, but I'm trying to get everything in the works to fish the monsters on the Ohio this October! Im down outside of Gatlinberg So its goin be a 3 or 4 day trip! But I hope to meet you an Lisa there an shake hands!
Shad don't cost much if you have a cast net, and learn to throw it. Also, if you live near a dam on the ohio river, you can catch skipjack right now on sabiki rigs. They are a blast to catch. There are videos on this channel on how to catch em. I was catching 2 at a time today.
we have a couple of honey holes for cats in south carolina. we have santee cooper and lake monticello. i go to each one, have hooked some bigen and have now upgraded my equipment. my goal is a 100 lb fish. might not never get it, but if you dont try, you definately wont. i met my other goals-51 lb striper, freshwater, 3.5 lb crappie, 10 lb largemouth. It gives me somthing to strive for. i may well get it on monticello.
+Michael H it is. I'm in Oklahoma too and am itching to get on the water and catch some catch. I fried up my stash in the freezer of catfish meet and need to resupply.
Awesome video Steve! I would have loved to be in the boat that day. I still don't understand why you don't keep ANY. There had to be a size that you'll keep for dinner.
Cordell Travis the smaller ones would have been fine to keep for table fare but the main reason is im too lazy to clean fish after i have been out on the water all day. lol
The only time I fished the Ohio was in winter, about in '90/91 (from bank). Very cold. Wheeling.W. Va. Didn't even get a bite, but that place has flats written all over it, so tried it anyway.
Hey Mr. Steve, awesome video, keep em coming! I went down to golconda a few weeks ago and current was pretty crazy. Looks like a lake where your at. I may head back down there soon and see if it has calmed down. Have you been on that part of the river lately? I am new to fishing the big rivers and trying to learn the best way to go about checking river conditions and currents etc. before making the trip down there. Maybe you have a vid on that already but if not i would appreciate your input on that. Thanks
Loved it Mr. Steve....I would however, like to see the camera not being shoved down at lake level when the fish gets brought in. But other than that,Great Video.
Another great video Steve! I have had some really good luck with circle hooks also. I have had some instances with them hooking back into the bait when using live bait. I try to hook them shallow but still had some issues. Any suggestions on fixing this? Thanks for sharing.
as always steve another great video keep them coming. i also wanted to know if you have posted anything about the fishing trip raffle this month Aug. thanks,Big A.
Steve as always ...love the videos,my Question is can you do a video on your down time on the Rod Holder...why use them ,or will the pole jump out in the water ..etc.... think it would be a good video explaining to alot of folks Thanks as always your Friend Greg
Rod holders will make you think you have a new boat. Frees up room on the decks & floor & certainly helps with the housekeeping in the boat. I make my own bases. Love the rod holders. Also, picked some arm rests to put on the pedestal seats, OH BABY ! Not only comfortable, but a bit of a safety feature too.
