I miss mantles, too many fireplaces without mantles.
I love it but also like a mantel out of wood. Also love the sink under the window with a view. Bored of all white or all grey kitchens.

I like the results, especially the fireplace. Not to crazy about the wine rack. It looks like an accident waiting to happen. I live in california and one good shake, I'd be cleaning wine and glass up.

The living room looks dull. The kitchen and dining are nice.
Of course, it looks better than it did. It looked like a house under renovation before. The all white walls and kitchen, open shelves, and wine rack on the wall are big no's for me.
Ohhhh yeah,beautiful for sure. I know American like the white kitchen a lot but a darker colour would also sweet a bright light house. Green is very trendy here

I was thinking the same thing. I like the idea of turning storage into "art" but I don't drink and can't imagine keeping that many full bottles of wine just hanging on a wall. I think if wine is an important part of your entertaining then sure, it could work. But isn't wine supposed to be kept in a cool, dark, place to prevent it from going bad? I think framed & glassed-in shadow boxes of heirloom or curio objects (shells, old photos, postcards, grandpa's broken watch, grandma's doll-house furniture, medals, unusual crystals or rocks, antique tools, etc.) would be both interesting for guests, personal, sculptural, and easier to dust.

How are the drawers under the overhang in the kitchen island even functional? What a waste of storage space if you can’t even use them.
We had drawers under our island at our previous home they come with extension pulls. I had extra cutlery etc that you generally use when you have family friends etc around. I found them really handy to get to and put stuff away
I would have whitewashed the brick. It looks too sterile. The kitchen is 😍, although I would have put the sink in front of the window. I like looking outside as I wash, and I also like an island with only counter space.
I agree with you about the sink. That is a perfect dishwashing space under that window, and I hate to see a beautiful kitchen island space interrupted by a sink or cooktop.

Mantels! Where are kids supposed to hang stockings for Santa? Would be fun to see how many people run into the wine rack, and how many bottles they break. Cleaning an all white kitchen is a nightmare, especially with kids. The whole place needs more color and warmth. This is a home, not the waiting room at the gynecologists office!!!
I'm pretty sure the owners took part in deciding the color pallet. No need to look for fault in everything; when someone spends that kind of money on a remodel, they know exactly what they're getting before-hand.

@@janewasson4845 I live alone in a 1400sqft house and I cook and maintain my own household by myself, but way to make assumptions.
@@devinwalker9202 Good for you! I live in a 1400 sq ft apartment, lost my husband-also a good cook- to a cancerous brain tumor 4 months ago. So we both manage our homes. Without a white color palette everywhere, and badly situated wine racks.

Hi just watching this very project on HGTV right now. I refuse in Asia. Wgen you build an outside kitchen abd an outside seating area, how do people manage with the outside furniture abd equipment installed outside?

Building with little knowledge, no experts, no permits was dangerous. Wonder if after it was completed, it then collapsed killing someone ? THE, money saved would not be enough for the lawsuits
