The Fountainhead completes ‘Kakar Residence’ our signature turnkey project; A contemporary five bedroom urban villa in the Panchkula suburb of Chandigarh.

Client Brief: The client brief was to create two fully independent, yet integrated units for a modern NRI joint-family. The client wanted to preserve the Mango, Neem and Chandni trees on the site and preferred an inside-outside concept to let the nature come in. A key ask was to provide for parking of 4 large SUVs in the driveway. Having lived in San Francisco for 20 years, the client wanted a high degree of automation and a future ready home with international build quality and materials.
Design : The Fountainhead design team created an open plan with two double height living rooms featuring 18 feet high windows to allow maximum natural light and a view of the foliage and trees. The two floors are connected internally via an internal staircase, but an external staircase was also provided allowing independent access to the first floor. Wood clad fabricated canopies replace the conventional ‘chajjas’ providing protection from the elements. Clean straight lines and a pure white and charcoal grey(granite) façade lend a contemporary look to the elevation as per the client brief. The setback has been utilized for utilities like washing, drying, power stabilizer and also a barbecue station. The servant’s housing has been segregated on the second floor accessed by a spiral staircase at the back. We were very happy to be able to carve out a 750 Sqft. Garden and a 900 Sqft. driveway to allow parking of 4-5 large cars inside the gate and yet provide a covered area of 6000 Sqft. of livable space.
Execution : We used ALCOI double glazed aluminum windows for thermal insulation, the flooring is Italian Botticino Classico sourced by RK Marble, Rajasthan and the Kitchens were sourced from Alea kitchens with Blum fittings and Bosch appliances. There is 30 Tons of hot and cold air conditioning in the house, designed and executed by Daikin and the lighting is from Jaquar lighting. We furnished the villa using our subsidiary ‘FountainDreams Furniture’ and the leather furniture is from Domicil Germany. The ground floor sports a contemporary style where-as the first floor has a traditional or rather eclectic styling. The stone cobbles in the driveway and Spanish handmade tiles on the terrace lend the house a timeless look. The wood veneers and bedroom flooring is American Walnut, and the rugs have been sourced from Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus and Shah Arts. Our team used the client’s travel photographs and collectibles like Turkish kilims, masks, collectible plates, vases, books and African metal sculptures and turned them into Artwork. The brass chandeliers are custom made. The paintings are renditions of the works of Jackson Pollock and SH Reza done by local artists and prints of Mario Miranda and Bhim Malhotra’s watercolours. The client wanted a professional caliber audio system filling the same music in all the living spaces and we created a whole-house multi-room audio setup with the help of Bose audio. We sourced the drapery automation from Forest-Netherland, and the Gate automation is from DoorHan Russia. The entire water management and pumping system is automated using Grundfos Denmark. There are 8 network centric CCTV cameras to keep a check on the house from anywhere and all the geysers and key switches are automated , scheduler enabled using Oakter’s technology.To keep the house environment friendly, we installed a solar power generation unit on the terrace, and have used H2O Stainless Steel overhead tanks instead of Plastic(PVC). The project took 6 months to design and 18 months to execute.

So that means he never followed Ayn Rand that well and deregulation has been going on in world economies since a long time and not just after the advent of Ayn Rand . The libertarians were propagating the idea long before Ayn Rand came to picture in US . And as I understand you havent understood her properly when you said that blind happiness following line of yours and I don't know the reason for it. Maybe you don't have brains as she is pretty open and straightforward about being moral and keeping your promises and truthfulness. As my usual experience with the criticisers of Ayn Rand , you talk without homework and you are already biased about her for unknown reasons. As I said , I would not had been so harsh if her philosophy was to be esoteric and complex . She has created two nice stories where the world and the protagonists follows her philosophy and people still dare to be stupid and misinformed about her .
