Was planning to get the Viofo A229 pro dual channel. Would you recommend getting this over the A229 pro? I mean the specs for this are kinda better on paper compared to the A229 pro but do you this is as good as the A229 considering it's cheaper than what they're offering for a higher price?
As said in the video, I haven't personally received the dashcam yet and still yet to try it out. On paper though it looks like a better deal. Do wait for the detailed review video which I will put up as soon as I get my hand on the dashcam.
@@traveltechyoutube Any update on F77 review. Were you able to get your hands on F77? When can we expect the video? Also can you make comparison video of F77 and VIOFO A229 Plus? Thanks
Hi, I subscribed to your channel today after seeing this video and the Viofo 229 Plus. Keep up the great work. I recently bought Redtiger A4 dashcam and returned it because I faced a peculiar issue. The cigarette lighter charger is not fitting in the cigarette lighter socket of my 330Li. Perhaps the circumference is smaller on the 330Li because the same thing fits in a Dzire. I am about to finalise the Redtiger F77 dashcam but I am told all Redtiger cigarette lighter chargers are of the same size, which means, I will have to use their OBD hardwire kit or buy another cigarette lighter socket extender to see if it fits but it will also clutter the cup holder area. In my car, the OBD port will not stay on after 8-10 min, so battery drain is not an issue and the kit has a voltage cut off option as well. I am also assuming that Port 16 on my car would have constant 12V supply. However, I am not sure if using the OBD port for charging is safe in the long run and BMW also will advice against it if I ask them. Of course, I could buy another company's dashcam like the Viofo to see if it fits, but I am keen on the F77. They have it in stock. I have a cigarette lighter socket with 2 USB ports (which plugs in well), but since that would be only 5V it may not be suitable for such a high end dashcam. 12V is recommended by Redtiger. But I just now saw the Viofo 229 Plus' charger. That seems to be having 2 USB ports with a detached cable for charging. Would that be supplying 5V or 12V to the dashcam? I mean, can it be used to charge a phone or only dashcam? If it is the former then I could use my socket for the dashcam too, right? Since I have already returned the A4 dashcam, I don't have an option of taking the F77 and returning it again for a refund, if above options don't work. What would you did if you are in this tricky situation? Would appreciate if you can clarify the above points.
I would be interested about long term reliability of eMMC due to wear down with years of writes. Does the dashcam allow writing to SD card as an option or is the slot only to backup from internal. Their Amazon listing and manual kinda implies card slot is for backup only. Hope you get around to testing this once you get your hands on the unit.
They are working on an additional memory card slot to get additional storage option other than the in built 128GB. Hopefully a 512GB upgradable memory card option will serve the best and will be close to perfect.
I’ve read the manual and the SD is basically just an option to use to copy files onto it doesn’t automatically save videos, I was a little bummed about that too at first I thought it was optional to use a memory card or the eMMC, but I’ve read up on the eMMC and it’s supposed to be much more reliable and long lasting so, I’m hoping that is true, not sure why they didn’t make it optional.
Good afternoon and thanks for your really good videos! I got the Redtiger F77 with hardwire kit recently from their website. Please advise me whether the car warranty will get void if i install the hardwire kit too? Thanks and regards
Does your F77 have an additional memory card slot? Regarding your query about hardwiring and warranty, here is the answer: ua-cam.com/video/XEPeijhTyHA/v-deo.htmlsi=lF2hg8sOP2tSAoRL
Thanks a ton! The Redtiger F77 does have a SD Card slot. Also, the hardwire kit from the company is not the socket BYD(?) type but fuse box type. A very interesting item in the box is the electrostatic sticker that is to be stuck to the windshield before the actual camera stand sticker. I'm finding it difficult to understand the wifi connection to my mobile app. It asks for internet - from where can I provide this? Also the clarity is very poor in the mobile app with head lights making it saturated. Is there any setting? Best regards
what do you suggest when we compare it with 70Mai 810, another concern is the durability of Emmc and lack of ADAS. Also as per your comment the company is working on SD card slot, Do we need to wait for the upgrade and when the upgrade will be available in market. Also hardwire kit with fuse or OBD, which is better? Thanks in Advance
Modern Emmc storage is much durable. Not to worry about that. And yes, Redtiger is working on the upgrade to add an additional memory card slot, since 128gb might not be enough for everyone. The upgraded model will probably come up in December at the earliest. Hardwire kit with OBD2 is better, but it's currently out of stock I think.
Thanks for the quick reply like you always do😇. So it's better to wait for the next 2 months. Plz suggest which one to choose between Redtiger and 70mai 810(maybe can respond on DM ).
I have jeep compass trailhawk 2022 , please guide me how to connect hardware kit f77 , which fuse ?? Even jeep service centre don’t know and local mechanic also they don’t want to risk of fittings, please help me to solve the problem.
instead of spending 28K for this dream setup, would it not work if I setup two units of 1 channel dash cam with 4K each ? what features will be missed in such a setup? or is it not technically possible to do such setup ?
You will need two separate power ports, two separate memory cards, and will require two separate app connections (cannot connect simultaneously). Additionally when required you will have to manually sync front and rear camera videos. I find this all to be inconvenient.

They haven't specifically mentioned this anywhere, but I think it is super capacitor based.
