This actually has 4 sources of max HP:
Grasp
Sion's W
Heartsteel
Overgrowth (Minor rune, gives you both flat max health and a % bonus, so it really scales with this build)
Overgrowth probably gave about as much hp as grasp.
he didnt take overgrowth, he took the shield and healing rune

I actually like going Abyssal Mask on Sion for solving his mana issues while also giving health and MR
You should try the same buld but on sylas for dual scaling. I havnt been able to make it work quite yet but it's a fun concept.

oh you just made me wanna play my boy Sion again. i've been playing way too many mages for a while, next time i play i'll bring this build into the rift
I've played sion with demonic and sunfire cape, both would benefit from each other. as the burn would activate demonic (even just swinging the q does it), and the more HP you get the more ability power you gain from demonic, aka more damage YOUR W AND E does, and yeah just heartsteel it for the win, stack that HP.
You can slap an abyssal mask to have a little defense against magic damage and some mana, get close to people and due to how much HP you'll be having, being near enemies will already shreds them 25 magic armor off from abyssal.
Which means your burns will deal a considerable amount of damage.
Then I won and couldn't build any further, that was spooky my shield explosion and the roar dealt quite the chunk, wanted to get a shadowflame just to further add damage to the burns but eyyy, might try that later.

Lethalistar is sneaky with how much damage you do and also it's kinda funny seeing Ali with Dusk blade disappear and reappear and blow up a group
Abyssal Mask, good for health, MR and mana, also amps your magic damage from bami's and your W, good item against ap, but easily forgotten

At around 7:54-ish, the ASol was trying to q you while flying-though I have no earthly idea why he thought that would work on a half health sion at 8 minutes into the game, lol.
I think abyssal mask actually might have been better than Demonic.
With the amount of bonus HP you had, it would reduce MR by 84.
Your Shield was already hitting for a shit ton, and reducing your opponent’s MR to 0 would probably give you more damage than the ~68 damage you get from Demonic’s AP.
Plus, it would have fixed all your mana problems like you mentioned.
I'm pretty sure Abyssal Mask has a MR reduction cap of 25. Otherwise any tank with enough health would just deal true damage with any magic damage (Mainly looking at Cho'gath here)

I think that Warmog's might be better than Demonic in this build🤔 It gives a lot of health so it would give you more ad with Hydra and ramp up on-hit damage with Heart Still
Demonic doesn't do much as most your dmg is from aa sunfire and hearthsteel
You should have bought an anathemas chain for Aurélien. The main threat. Also buying it coule make a 2nd Armor item viable. Maybe a randuin if triste get fed into lategame. They have 1 main ap threat so goinf for this item allows you to kinda ignore mr while getting cd and more hp

Sunfire into hextech belt and abbysal mask into demonic embrace is pretty funny to. You are tanky, got massive magic pen and still make insane dmg
Steraks gauge gives you a massive health shield as well

You actually don't need to start w to get the maximum hp possible.. The game keeps track of how many stacks you would have gotten, and gives it to you when you put the first point in to w

It is called retroactive effect, and no, Sion`s W does not have this effect, In fact no skill in League has this effect, I believe league don`t have have the "mechanic" of retroactivie skills implemented onto it.

I played against a Sion like this yesterday. By late game it took all 5 on our team to kill him and he's still take 1 or 2 of us with him. We could either let him take objectives or let the rest of his team take objectives. Those were our choices. The game is so out of balance right now, and Riot just keeps making it worse by adding more champions.

Hey Zwag, you should try this mid singed strat from Korea. You basically continuously shove your lane, trading health if needed and then immediately heading for a gank to either side lane. It’s actually pretty cool and a lot of fun!
