The first video giving birth to the famed "Bad Bitch Puerto Rican" fan chant. Timeless
These pre-debut dance videos were a big part of promoting ATEEZ. Their company, KQ, was only 10 people when our guys became trainees. The company wasn’t even looking for trainees but they gave Hongjoong a chance and the rest is history.
The company went into major debt doing absolutely everything they could to promote the group. It worked.
These 4 dance videos (3 group videos, 1 Yunho solo) were a huge part in gathering a following. KQ took the group to LA to train in dance with some of the world’s top choreographers. San didn’t even know how to dance at that time. It’s hard to believe BUT they’ve confirmed that theirselves. Now San is one of the best performers in kpop.
KQ knew what they were doing and they did it well.

People who remember these videos don’t know they’re Ateez. They picked up a lot of dancing styles in LA- Jongho for an example is an amazing dancer. He still has the LA hip hop style of dancing- if you search his LA dancing you can see how different it is compared to onstage where he belts out his part.
The second has main vocalist Jongho at center. We don’t often appreciate his dance skills but they are mad good.
There is also a 3rd performance video and Yunho solo.
This was the first introduction to KQfellaz aka Ateez and most of us were hooked just from the choreo alone.. We saw instant talent.!!Jongho became the bias. Sincerely, this bad bi$h Puerto Rican. 😂🙋♀️🇵🇷

yeah, I guess now that we know Ateez for crazy performance with their own song, looking back on them dancing with someone else's songs (besides the tiktok challenge stuff) kind of feel different, but I always adore how they adapt the song to their style (like the performances they did on Kingdom episodes too). Thank you for reacting to this!!😊

I revisit the first video REGULARLY. it is everything. Our boys at their peak and readiest.
Before they announced the name ateez whilst training they went to la to practice and so nobody caught on to who they were or gonna be they were known as the kq fellez kq because of the company they are with. you should watch the kq fellez yunho solo. He was the only one asked to do a solo with other dancers by the director because they thought he was that good ❤ love these reacrions xx

NO WAY HOW EXCITING!!!!!! this performance shows their unity with dance even pre-debut, before they even had their own songs to dance to, although hongjoong produced #3 plus yunho solo pre-debut bias wrecking in #4. So I strongly recommend those. Loved this!

FYI-According to Cardi it's being lucky.
5:58 Quarter lick is slang/street lingo. I think it means like really lucky? Cardi said it's like when you find a $100 bill, or you're gambling and you roll the right number, or you make a big deal. If you Google quarter lick a little video pops up.
She says "Looking like I caught a lick". "Catching a lick" is AAVE (african american vernacular english) and it means coming into some nice money (often lucky and unexpected). Whether you find 50 bucks, you win 500 bucks, or you close a 50.000 dollar business deal, you caught a lick.
So, by saying "looking like I caught a lick" she means that she looks confident and perhaps even a little cocky, as if she just earned a good amount of money
