That’s true thanks for bringing it up because being Filipino is a privilege ❤❤❤❤❤❤ our natural nature back home is richer than any country we are that country who was raised to have each others back even just stepping outside the airport you could already feel home how welcoming our fellow Filipino are. Reminds me of snother culture that gets overlooked, Guatemalan culture, but my girlfriend radiates so much pride it makes me SO in love with the culture her love for it is tangible, and honestly like you kind of show everyone should be like that with who they are and where they come from
I've had a lot of amazing friends of Philippine heritage. One woman allowed me to live with her intermittently in the 90's when I was between living arrangements. I regard her as one of the most wonderful people I've ever known.

I just broke up with my American boyfriend because I sometimes heard him talk trash of my Filipino people, he hated the karaoke culture because it's loud he said, he's being rude and I realized, if he can't respect my culture as a Filipino then he's not gonna respect me in oir marriage. He's a very proud republican and air force veteran, but I don't really care about is background if he talks shit about Filipino culture.
This is true in Malay culture as well. We call strangers ‘uncle’, ‘auntie’, ‘older brother/sister’, etc.
