I have the Halifax account. On the 2nd of every month I have a standing order to move my entire student overdraft into it and then another standing order moves it back the next day. As for the £500 spend on the debit card, I top up my Lifetime ISA and then pay a credit card bill. Free money

you only really need one current account for all business/personal use factors; I've had all sorts of highstreets bank accounts etc but the best one I've found so far to be ethically friendly is nationwide; the people's mutual. It's just what I choose because there's a branch to go to in case you get financial difficulties or something go wrong with your account; you have someone to talk to at the branches unlike Monzo, revolut or even starling, like the security of talking to a banker opposed to these challenger bank apps that want to erode away the need for a bank staff member to be there...
Since seeing your video I’ve transferred my Santander current account to a 123 lite account instead, makes sense as this is the account all my bills come out of.
The bills spaces from Starling is absolutely brilliant, you can even set it up to automatically transfer the money you need into it at the beginning of the month. Chase are now offering 1.5% on savings too!
You mean the bank where you still have to use a stupid card reader to pay someone new? You have to use chaps just to transfer over 10k in one go. Not to mention transaction fees abroad on their debit card.

Andy, I forgot to mention.. BA refunded me £105 +51,000 avios points the other day. There is a very very long story behind the refund which I won't bore you with.. however initially BA told me they were'nt able to refund me and that I was stuck with the travel vouchers .... However out of the blue last week they messaged me to say they'd give me the points and money back within 5 days and they did. I have since swapped them for Nectar points. Just thought I'd share that, cheers.
Excellent video and you explained things very well indeed! We need you in Secondary Schools! I’m currently with NatWest but I’m switching to HSBC as they’ve got a £200 switch offer right now. I don’t know why, but HSBC tends to be my favourite High Street Bank! NatWest was excellent for customer service and again their presence on the High Street but I thought about switching to HSBC as I heard they are one of the best high street banks for investing. HSBC’s App tends to be very good as well and they are very secure!
I have been with lloyds since my early days & I mostly use online app to manage things where there are no option to mange things such as alert or card limit or paying amount in full but I also don't wanna go for only digital banking. I also don't wanna switch every often but stick to just few.

Bills will just be automatically deducted from its specific space. I also don’t need to spend a day just to budget and stuff monthly funds to it’s allocated budget envelope (which i was doing for years!) With starling, i set a monthly schedule to transfer funds into every spaces I have.

Natwest and nationwide don't seem to bad just dont go with monzo or starling because you can only deposit £1000 annually and that's it and then you pay fees when youre depositing

Not Andy but offering my advice. If you work or have regular money coming in, set up a standing order into a savings account (pick a sum that comfortable suits you at the moment) and try and make a commitment not you touch for a year unless emergency. Hope this helps

The problem with digital banks also known neo banks is ATM withdraw can be very unfavourable because of withdraws fees and withdraw limits. But if you have traditional bank such as HSBC is more useful if you make large amount of cash withdraws.

Monzo is now on all credit reference agencies, while Starling is missing just one (Experian). Re mortgages - it's best to shop around and see what deals are out there. You might want to use a mortgage broker too as they'll know which lenders might be best for your circumstances

My credit score is very poor currently due to opening several current accounts even though I'm not in debt. On average do you know how long it could it take for my credit score to go back to its original very good, but not excellent score?
It could take up to 6 months for your credit score to recover or longer but that depends on how many hard credit checks has been done on your credit file.
It shouldn't take too long as these are small changes. One larger impact could be if you switched away from a very old account as that impacts the average age of accounts on your report
I loved my Cashplus bank UNTIL I applied for a loan,then i am told i have gotten the loan until the last step! Then I am told my account can't be verified SOO I try three more loans and the exact same thing 😡

I signed up with Starling, it's alright, but you still need to have a good long term relationship with at least one high street bank. Why not talk more about Lloyds, Barclays, and Natwest, they are the major clearing banks in the UK.

The monthly account fee for the Santander 123 current account is £4 not £2
The 123 Lite is £2. If you have the full 123 account ditch it ASAP and downgrade to the Lite version
