This was the closing act on friday. That's why there was a lot of pyro en fireworks! I was there and it really was amazing. I'm almost 63 years old and I was stunned by the experience (and glad I wore earplugs!!!) Thanks for the reaction!
You’re right, it was planned. At Harmony of Hardcore, a fan got on stage & security tackled Sefa, thinking he was the stage invader. So he brought back this memory & also used it to bide time so he could change into his suit & the next phase of his set could begin.
They dont do this set every year, this was the closing set on the red on friday, but there are official after-partys on the indoor stages. This set had especially much firework because it was the spotlight, the lights effects etc arent done by the DJs but by the Team of Q-Dance which makes it even more impressive bc most of it is live.
OHHHH! Finally, I was waiting for this. I expereinced this in person and it was a memory for life, it was so insanely well done and amazing in person. The energy throughout the crowd was godly, and everyone went wild when the stage caught fire. 😂 But this is all done by Q-dance, as others pointed out, as this is the Spotlight set which one artist gets every year.
And yes, the Fan part during the beginning was staged, as a reference to an older act of Sefa where the Security mistook him for a fan and tried to pull him off stage. Everyone was confused by that, haha.
Oooh, I did something very similar, preferring Celtic Rock/Irish Folk etc. and a bottle of beer ... so good and the clean up was so quick 😁 At least partially ... would have worked better if I hadn't always found myself some instrument to play along in between - had to give it up 🤣 But isn't as much fun anymore ...
I work in IT in software development, and whenever i want to get things done fast (when in the office), i turn on my earplugs with some Sefa, and i get things done like a whirlwind. Literally like 5 times faster than normal 😅 also great for working out... Sefa makes life just a bit more efficient 😂
When I saw your reaction to sefa at defqon I subscribed 😅 I was at defqon 1 from 2006 till 2019 (only missing 2009 edition because it was sold out). Now you know why we are the healthiest people on earth😂

I rushed through the video and was in awe about the mix of music styles and classical instruments and how well they pulled it all together. I resolved to return to watch the entire video ... and never did ... I was there, standing on the right bank near the stage, this set really took me by surprise, he starts with the harder stuff doing his set in reverse. Normally you'd build this up but he did it backwards. The emotions and energy that was in this was incredible.
The spotlight is the end to the Friday (different dj every year) Saturday is the endshow and the Sunday is closing ritual. All these shows are pre planned, the tech guys behind it don’t get enough credit. I think it was 2022 or 2023 where they spent over 500k on pyros alone. The last song they played in this set is going to be played a hell of a lot once it’s released
Wow I hadn't seen this year's show yet so this was a great opportunity. What strikes me most is that Defcon 1 clearly got a director on board who really knows what they are doing. The show has always been incredible and one of a a kind but never have I seen the after movie fit so well together. A fantastic improvement on an already amazing formula if you ask me.
So there is some little firework at daytime too, but this time of the year, it is not even fully dark up there in the netherlands when those shows are starting. The red stage is opened from friday to sunday until 11pm and then they close. So you have like maximum 45min of time each day to enjoy the lasers/fireworks in a kind of dark enviroment. And i have to say something about the Sound Systems too. Compared to other festivals, is is not the best sound (big differences there), maybe due to limitations of the netherland goverments, or whatever. As example, festivals here in Austria like Electric Love (Harddance Valley) have wayyyy better sound whilst beeing louder as well. It always depends where you staying but i dont found the perfect spot at Defqon.1 Red, Blue and Black Stage. But overall, it was my first time in 2024 and definitly not my last time. I freaking love the festival, no matter how long it's dark or how the sound is. You cant find that anywhere else, not even close!
Sefa combined parts of previous defqon shows. The hard start represents 2019, the emotional parts represent the theather in 2023 and the choir and instruments represent 2022 where he opened the red stage with a huge show
Hi Paul, yes it has effect on you, lot of frequencies have. Maybe try it in the morning, first get a good cup of quality coffee. Then sit down and put up some nice dj set. It will wake you up quickly and you feel really energetic. Regards from Amsterdam.

The fan was not supposed to run to the stage. The cdj throw was staged. The stage started burning. Sefa has his own orchestra. You can see the defqon lightshow from space. And sefa did the endshow for the first day thats why he had this enormous Lightshow Complete if i missed something😅

When cleaning the house i always turn on Defqon one, it makes it a lot faster. Also useful for running and cycling
