I hope it´s the same way for Arteon. I was going crazy today because I was not able to remove the rear seat -.- But I didn´t try to push it back -.- My seats look similar it have to be same way I hope so much :/

After removing the rear bench were you able to fold the backrest sections completely flat? Or something else is still holding them on an angle?
I do not really remember but I think it was possible to get them completely flat.
