Hey Jon you should purchase the usb c to lightning, micro, and usb a adapters. They would save you a ton of room. I use them in my travels and they work really well.
Been crazy about boxes since childhood. But for some reason this one doesn’t really do it for me. Nonetheless it’s an excellent review and Jon, you saved me some money. ♥️Keep up the great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Good review. Had my eye in a Nest for over a year but can’t justify £100 at the moment. A lever gear cable kit would work really well to reduce space etc. But good review.
yes, depending on circumstances - the issue is if the mains socket is a distance from where you need it to be - then longer cables are going to be needed
"Quite a long time later" made me chuckle 😁 You could utilise some small adapters e.g. USB C to Micro USB and/or Lightning, to eliminate some of the cables, potentially
True, but if you have at least two cables potentially you can connect/charge two device at the same time. Not sure how to work that with cable and adapters(maybe wireless). Great, great Channel !!!
@@JonGadget many thanks for replying Jon. I’ve seen you using alot of compact lights in many videos. Which one would you recommend in terms of compactness, battery life & power? Would like to buy a few or them to use in a number of places
orbitkey should make it without the wireless charging pad. you have battery bank inside as well as cables and an AC adapter if you needed to plug into an outlet. without the pad it would reduce the price.
If this would somehow fit my MX Master 3, it would be the perfect fit for putting it in my locker back at work (when we return to that "office" thing).
I’ve seen reviews commenting on the fixing of the charging pad and socket, claiming that both come loose thereby removing this useful option. What’s your experience so far?
It's great, I keep my EDC rotation inside and charge the phone on top. My least favorite part is the cable tbh, I think Jon mentions that in the video too, it's not really standard and it's a bit short, do it limits a bit where you can put it.
@@RafaRodriguezOfficial Thank you for responding. That's great, I might just cop one soon. I think the wireless charging pad is meant to draw power from your laptop while you work, and that's what it's so short. Do you think that's the case, or will the laptop not provide enough power to charge your phone? The wireless charging capability is one of the main features of interest for me.
@@SalawuIbrahim I couldn't try with my laptop because the other end is a USB type A. I think there is a high risk it won't work that way, because most computer USB ports output just 2.5 Watts, and the wireless charger aims to output 10 Watts for normal charging.
As always I liked the review very much 😊 In my opinion, for that price? I'm not sure it's worth 110$! It should have more functionality for that price. For example: have its own built-in battery, charge airpods and apple watch simultaneously, a built-in tracker, some data transfer capabilities - just to name a few. Have a great weekend Sir 😊
Hi Eyal, I totally agree this is a pricey option, I am sure the price will put a lot of people off - but it is really well made and nicely designed.......😃
Good review but it looks like the tin my school geometry set came in back in the 70s that's been used for a kids project. Way too expensive - stick with the Belroy, it holds way more. All the bits and bobs of other tech adapters you put together though were interesting!!
Top notch review - thank you. This will go on my wish list for sure. Question: With the gear that you are able to stow in the Nest, how are you getting power to your laptop?
@@JonGadget absolutely. Also, i tweaked everything on my pixel 4a phone, so battery wont go passed 95%, it does charging based on when you wake up, no bluetooth and gps unless needed etc etc. So now my little battery lasts 3 days. Pixel is vanilla android without enormous interfaces and other crap. Already speeds things up considerably
@@JoeGillian0 hi, currently in Android it's build in under the battery settings. Requires a reboot after and then it just shows 100%, but really it is 95% or 85%. In android 11, there is an entire battery section and on 10 it's under device care. They keep shifting menus lol.... Ibm / lenovo laptops have used it for years, and it really works. Good luck!
Baffling to me how they haven't released a version without the charging capability. That would reduce the price and overall make it more appealing to a lot of people...like me.

I honestly find it big, I prefer a softer bag plus damn it is pretty expensive! Thanks but no thanks…but still a fantastic video Jon, good job.
Great review! This looks great for travel, and hope this will get past airport security in a carry on.

Maybe you will be so friendly to introduce us these beautiful yellow - orange light bulbs in your cosy studio.
Grettings from Austria.
I prefer the folding mains adaptor that has 2 outputs (albeit USB A) - I can charge 2 devices at once.
makes sense 👍

it is expensive - but nice 😃 - Lever Gear might lack the length if socket is a bit remote - say on a train....
It is £213.68 on Amazon right now!? Think I'll stick with my Bellroy tech kits.
@@roqsteady5290 that is ridiculous!!
Hey Jon! Thanks so much for your review of the Orbitkey Nest. We're glad you're enjoying it!
you're welcome 👍

Thanks for the kind words 🙏 - I’m new for this year so channel is young but hopefully will continue to grow 🙂
I just ordered one, the price was a bit much but I can't wait for it to arrive
What size is the notebook?
As that would be a good use case for my work situation.
Cheers in advance.
I think with a Lever Gear Cable Kit you can save some space by carrying less cables and maybe make space for some of the things you had to leave out
yes, depending on circumstances - the issue is if the mains socket is a distance from where you need it to be - then longer cables are going to be needed
The incharge Max or XL would be a better option. Every type of connection and a 5ft length, all in one cable.
Found one for 65£ tempted to pick this up
Surely if you have to still pack a powerbank and cables the wireless charging aspect is pretty much redundant. Or have I missed something?
it's just a nice to have for when you have access to power ie. office or desk at home perhaps?
Cool video. Thank you for reviewing
thank you 🙏
Nice watch
Waheyy! I was hoping you'd get your hands on one of those! 👍🏻

direct is much quicker too

Exactly. Not sure I understand the charging part as all the items I need to charge my device would be inside the compartment anyways.
110$ for a bulky lunchbox. That elastic band will deteriorate over time
Looks like you need a few dongles of all the usb-_____ to usb-________. Then you can cut out half your cables.

Nah, don’t think so, especially for $110!
I agree the price can be a barrier here
Way too limited in terms of space, you almost have to get the gear you plan to put in it before you get the organizer.
$110!? I can glue a wireless charger to an edc pouch for a lot less!
£95 for a box! My god. It's cool but not that cool. I do enjoy your content though :)

Are you still using this overpriced box? I can’t imagine so.
overpriced pretentious accessory trying to b e a solution to a problem that doesnt exist
May be, but some love it and quality is good. I’m not using it now though.
Just curious why you need a 15w charger and a powerbank when you already have a wireless charger in the case
Powerbank for when mains power not available. Charger to power wireless charger (and allow direct charging of gear)
What notebook is that?
