I fail to see how that was impressive.
With that DT skill or without he had the reload advantage and should have fired a blindshot anyway.
Then get into cover and repeat until enemy shot one back and then move in to finish him off.

I was playing in the Caliban. I thought my platoonmate would drive the other way around the rock to win the game. gg QB
yup. Shows that you just can't rely on your teammates. Such a situation is pretty much always winnable when attacking at the same time. One has to sacrifice himself, but then the other can take the kill, and also win the game then. It always enrages me when I see teammates who don't understand this simple concept.

@@chowder99100 It definitely has something to do with that. Of course even the best players can't ever be 100% sure but they for sure can make an educated guess that will give them an advantage.
This match really showed me how missed a single shell can seriously change the game. Because if the caliban died that French tank would have most likely been able to hold until QB and the jagdtiger arrived. Making it a possible 3v1 against the borsig after dealing with the 50tp
(I’m not sure what tank the French one was, I was not paying attention but it looked French to me)
Tell me about it, to many times RNG will leave an enemy on 1 shot potential, or get a stupid bounce. And then a couple minutes later into the game that same tank kill like 1 or 2 of my team or comes back to get me. And It's like if I would have gotten them sooner and RNG didnt troll me then we would have won the game. But such is life.....

I am actually surprised that QB took the hit from that AFK TD at the start. There's a good second or two when you can see him "wake up" and start moving his gun around that QB could have pulled back.

Yes I noticed it too but often in the midst of a fight you miss things that look obvious in a replay.
@@marasenha how can it be tunnel vision? It can be not paying attention or just excepting the hit or thinking somethings wrong with the players connection... but it can not be tunnel vision
@@mzilec in my opinion it was tunnel vision, he was just so focused on the place where he was aiming that he didn't noticed that Ob. 704 was moving his gun. I don't think that Quicky was willing to exchange hits in that moment.
@@marasenha rewatch it. Tank came alive, turned the gun and fired... and QB was looking in that direction. No way he didn't see it. But what could he do? Reverse up the slope? I don't think so.

7:30 As a side note, there are actually certain advantages to using the stock turret on the AMX 65t. Sure, you have 100 less HP, 100 less DPM, 20m less view range and worse aim time with the stock turret. However, you can still use the competitive 100 mm gun without losses to the dispersion values, have 10 degrees of gun depression (2 more than the top turret), and the single cupola weakpoint is much smaller than the many large weakpoints on the top turret.
Honestly, designated target is such a slept on skill. Extra 2 seconds on a target is such a crucial extra information. You could predict if the enemy would fallback or stay with that 2 second window. It's just that like the old intuition, you either don't notice or just other skills are just better. Same goes for eagle eye actually, but for a different reason being super situational. Knowing the enemy has a broken ammorack for example makes pushes easier. I don't like the crew rework, but I want a crew overhaul like equipment 2.0. Just merge these 2 skills together as one skill and it's at least going to be more useful and popular. Knowing your enemy is key after all.
Designated Target is a skill I make mandatory on all my light tanks, and I try to get on my mediums once I get enough crew xp to start working on extra perks/skills.
Designated Target is so powerful, but almost everyone sleeps on it. I've caught people so many times because I can see them starting to come out of cover when they think they've gone unspotted.
im considering sacrificing one other skill to take designated target earlier now... just to mess with the people who are too used to it being rare
Same, literally so many time enemies drive out in front of my gun because they are too impatient lmao
I use it on TDs mostly. Enemies come back to the same bush and get one sneaky semi-blindshot
I had a boss whose brain was too tense - yeah, "too tense" the size of a normal brain. We would joke that he gave us the "seagull treatment." He'd swoop in, squawk without meaning, crap on people, then swoop out.
0:54 For those that want a little more detailed information on this: A total of around 333 examples of both stock T-55s and updated T-55As (T-55As being modified to be able to fight/survive in a nuclear zone or irradiated area) were ordered from Poland by the East German government from 1965 to 1973. And were donated to the Bundeswehr post-German unification. However by 1991 the T-55 platform was definitely showing it's age in both firepower and protection so the remaining T-55s were probably either scrapped, sold off to somewhere else, or donated to museums and private collections.

When I started playing WoT, I had to rely on armor to play. I simply couldn't play medium tanks like the T-34 (which I was excited about getting because of the dpm) because I didn't have the skill. Not long afterward, I found QB's video about the P26/40 and P43. The P26/40 quickly became one of my favorite tanks, with that gun that rips apart opponents with the crazy HE dpm. Skip skip skip and not long ago, I decided to brush off the dust on my T-34 and play it. This time, I performed much better, enjoyed it more, and I'm hoping to get my mark of excellence in it. I guess the P26/40, being a medium tank and all, trained me to play medium tanks. Thanks QB for that video.

loved the deep dive commentary, it is always so informative and enlightening to see and hear explanations of high level decision making and knowledge of mechanics to outplay the opponents, 10/10 keep it up
The potential removal of designated target gameplay is symptomatic of the game in general trending towards just being a shooter. It seems to have been going on for many years. I miss light tank and spotting gameplay, which is largely removed by excessive view ranges on every tank.

Love the T55a. Main downsides are the low pen on the base round and the lack of gun depression. Everything else is right on point.

That plan against the caliban and 50-TP was great just planing ahead and projecting how long they were to take just didn’t give them enough time.

The major difference between the T54 and T55 is the T55 has a CBR system.
For those who are unsure, CBR stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological.

I once used 6th sense to tell when an M10RBFM is in a bush (no one else could spot me). I blind hit it twice :)
I am not a fan of pushing slower tanks for just the reason you alluded to. Often when I was playing my T95 people would push me and I always asked them to stop because it was stopping them getting into position quickly.

Have designated target on all of my TDs. Always annoying to see the enemy disappear the moment my gun finishes reloading :\
if you have them on ur tds that's a bit dumb imo. DT only works if YOU spotted them and you have to like aim lock or something on them to make it work. it works best on LTs rather than redline tds who can't spot for themselves.
@Yurack Jung Games these days are forcing me to spot for myself or for the team if the lights die early in game, refusing to spot or no lights at all. I play mostly fast and lightly armored TDs like the Kanonenjagdpanzer or the Amx cda so I don’t sit way back and snipe. Also I got other perks researched so yeah.

In RL the T-55 has a NBC system and a turret basket, neither of which were part of the T-54. Of course none of that applies in WoT fantasy world.

A scenerio like that is exactly where the new outline mechanic is going to ruin any sense of experience. Both with feathering, but also through bushes where there is cover on the other side that can not be seen, but you know is there based on experience or the feathering you do in the engagement. Even though I will probably also get higher dmg games overall with the mechanic, I truly hope it will not come into the game, or at least WG will take it out if it proves to be not good for the playstyle.

Hey qb first of all love the vids and keep going and second of all i have a video idea: you could do a video where you look at world of tanks blitz and world of tanks console and world of tanks pc and compare them all and let us know what your thoughts about all the games is
QB , with Current WOT rules , if you see 2 different tier vehicles as a platoon , that is in game platoon , you don't need to check your team has similar platoon or not .( that is wrong way to check unless that platoon is a same tier platoon)
History wise, T-55 was very similar tank to T-54 and there was a possibility for countries that already had a T-54 to upgrade their T-54s to T-55s but its was to expensive as the price to upgrade from T-54 to T-55 was like 80% of the T-55 price. Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia had about 1600 T-55 and T-55A tanks. Some of them are made in SSSR and bunch of them came from Warsaw Pact nations like Czechoslovakia.

On console WG changed the 5 degree gun depr gun and it now gets the same pen as the obj 140 at tier 9

Most players would have just sidescraped against the borsig and overmached it anywhere but that would leave a very small chance that the borsig would have found a shot on their turret. QB doesn't like to leave anything up to luck. GG

Nice game. The designated target skill is one of those skills that comes into play very seldom just like in this game. Most of my crews are maxed out on skill except the commander at times. Seems like on most tanks the commander has double the skills compared to the others. That radio operator is awol.
Changing ammo types during battle is kind of intuitive, isn't it.
7:25 Does pushing slow vehicles really make a difference on their speed? I kinda feel it doesnt make any difference.
It does, usually depend on how heavy the tank that push or being pushed. Like 1-3 speed increased. But no use if you're an LT or lightweight pushing a T95.
