I’ve been complaining about the price of this card for the past week, I just don’t understand… and then about an hour ago I pulled it. I’ve never betrayed my beliefs so fast
Thankful for this video - was offered a Leafeon vmax for 180 which now after learning the 1000 vs 2000 pull rates you discussed, sounds much better than Pikachu ex's possible price consistency right now.
Because of the insane demand for Moonbreon/Sleepy Espeon, I have a feeling the Prismatic Umby/Espy alts will be promos in the super premium collection box later in 2025. Kinda like the alt Jolteon/Vaporeon/Flareon boxes from Evo.
You can open up a Pika, but you also have to deal with Pokemon control quality. So you might need multiple cards just to get a 10. I think even at $3,000, it's worth it just to get the psa10 than buying 1000 pks.
Only 48 pikachu illustrations in existence mate for the #238 i say hold for sure. What you have here is a card that has a chance rate to pull of 0.10% thats not even a fraction of a percent therfor its not just a keeper its a holy grail. Looking at the stellar crown which has a 0.22% chance of pulling an illustration rare. Its defenetly no question about it. Sexy card
So PokéOz… I’ve got a 36-pack booster box of Surging Sparks that I paid nothing for. Given that I have no skin in the game (and know nothing about Pokemon cards) what do you think I should do with this box? Sell it immediately or hold onto it? Thanks.
I think the pull rate of 1:1000 vs Evolving Skies 1:2000 will depend on the printing of the set. I think Surging Sparks will be printed less than ES will. Less available boxes supplied to the market could make it on par with the ES rate of 1:2000. Depends if Pokemon Co want the printers to go brrrrr or not.
Vivid Voltage and Surging Sparks both came out in November. Both had the "Pikachu". VV Pikachu was pricy asf in the beginning but it eventually went down to "normal prices" at 110 bucks currently. The demand is completely artificial for it to hit 600 raw / 3k PSA 10. VV Pikachu is also the only rare worth anythingin Vivid Voltage. SS Pikachu is being pumped up because it is hard to pull and scaplers are buying out inventory... AND NOT OPENING. So this makes the SS Pikachu so much harder to get. If people are truly buying the SS Pikachu at this rate, the scalpers are winning.
Comparing vivid voltage to surging is legit a joke, straight up idiocy. There is zero things similar about their situations outside of having a Pikachu as the chase, use your critical thinking skills. Vivid voltage literally had 6 reprints because of an epidemic event that happens once per 1-200 years in human history. Stop coping
It really wasn’t. You need to just accept the bull market we’re in right now and how heavy demand for Pokemon is rn. Pikachu is literally THE mascot of the biggest media franchise in history, you think it getting its first ever big chase SIR/alt art wouldn’t be hyper sought after? Cmon mate
I couldn't stomach paying that price for a card that just came out. A card I really don't even think looks that great. I'll just keep buying older SV booster boxes and go about my business.
Hey bro natural damned yes. But you are betting on the fact natural demand will stay this high, look at Pokémon’s history there has been times when nobody cared (2003-2012) that first ex era was a ghost town. All these over printed over hyped modern cards are not rare in anyway-as soon as Pokémon has a small dip in popularity prices on these over printed modern cards will drop greatly and a lot of these stonk chasers leave the hobby. With the money of these modern chase cards you can by actual rare cards that are actually hard to find and get.
I just went and got SV base, PR, temporal, and a single stellar crown. 2025 will be the last year of booster boxes under 120 a box for the average guy.
It’s happening because people want it to happen. Hardly any normal person would buy a card at that price. It’s all people hoping to cash in on it becoming even more expensive whether it be raw or as a graded 10. This is all fine, but it’s not due to natural market moves. Sort of like GameStop. The company was barely holding on before the roaring kitty stuff happened
Want a story? Happened to me today. I'm not into Pokémon cards for a long time. Went to the gas station and saw this booster box in front of me. Didn't even know it's pretty new. Watched UA-cam about the old days and booster box opening came again . I thought to myself , eh why not , miss these days a bit and pulled literally one pack. One pack. Guess what I pulled. I thought ,oh that's a pretty card , and googled it . Dude ,how ? Played also the lottery for tomorrow 😅
Finally hit its break point. Usually when cards hit big round numbers people finally back off. Happened to giratina v at 450, happened to gengar vmax the first time at 300. Happened to Umbreon vmax at 1000$ the first time it boomed to that. 600$ seems to be the limit, however demand is so high and there’s so much money in the market we’ll see how sale velocity continues and if stock is bought out again

Funny how it grows on people as the price goes up.
It hasn't grown on anyone, people are just saying they like it. Pikachu looks like my ex on only fans.
Social creatures using their brains to assign value be like: “That’s popular 🤩”
Funny how no-one wants a collection with 0 value
I’ve defended the card from the moment it was leaked and it’s a Pikachu card. Pikachu power is not to be underestimated
Its artwork is still Meh just like Moonberon is very meh to me but I still want both in the binder.

Thats 2 of us LUL.took me 6 packs..Going to buy a lotto now.
Nice work!!
Same here. Took 12 packs
😂😂😂
The box I opened had an error pack, pulled two gold pika’s from the same pack? …couldn’t believe my luck
Top video mate🤙
A 260$ pack! Congrats bro
That's so good mate, pumped for you!
My advice would be to keep the minting errors may even be worth more than the card in its best condition.
INSIDER INTEL:
Jake Paul will be wearing the VV Pikachu on a necklace at Friday’s fight and Vivid Voltage will become the new Evolving Skies.

Packed it last week, the Pikachu is so mid, doesn't even look like an SIR. I prefer my Greninja and Lugia SIR's by far
200 HP + 300 DMG = 500$
😅😅

I'll snag a Japanese SAR if it it gets close to a $100 again.. just not worth it. I'm investing in collecting 2025 sets 😶🌫️

If you can get it for $500 I buy 20 now
Sparks is straight up Vivid Voltage 2. The PIka will be a $200 card in 2 years and the rest of the set is questionable
