Hey Ryan! Thanks for playing the full version of Psych! Psych was our first big title to set foot in the horror world. From a "how hard can it possibly be to develop some sort of Slenderman" to "oh no, we need the seventh voice actor now!" it's been a very exciting journey. We are all the more proud that we were able to entertain so many people with Psych! We also always listen to feedback and ideas to be able to develop together with the community. Currently, we are even working on a co-op horror game with hackers and thieves called Midnight Heist! Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your experiences on Psych with the community, it really, really means a lot to us! 👾
if you ever need an extra voice actor for anything, lmk. i’m still a beginner and would love to voice for anything. i jus wanna practice, because it’s something i enjoy and want to persue ^_^
The fact that the protag is trying to save his sister but won't swim through chest-deep water, won't jump a stack of pallets, and would rather steal from a homeless person than jump a train gate. Bruh.
What an interesting game. I remember it from when you played earlier, simply because I always thought the "bird man" (button-eyes hoodie guy w/ knife) design was beautiful. I was so happy there was no actual sister who tragically died because of the MCs actions, that storyline is very common. This was cathartic. This is the most mundane depiction of psychosis I've seen, and I mean that as praise. No evil murderer etc, just confusion, worry, paranoia, and stalking. And one delusion is a loved one! Not a monster! I have one more sibling than my human siblings do, it's an absurd situation. I met him as teen, and even when I stopped seeing him, the delusion never left. I can't do anything about it. I can rationally admit he's not real, but even after a decade I still know he's there. I mean when the Sun sets, it doesn't mean it stops existing, it's just on the other side. Seeing the confusion, lack of logic, and inability to form coherent memories is just simply cathartic. I'm not saying this is a perfect depiction, but psychosis isn't a one-size-fits-all anyway. In summary, I just really like how "mundane"/"normal"/"day-to-day" it is compared to other psychosis depictions I've seen.
Your comment doesn't get much recognition but I completely agree with you, my view changed when our subconscious was really telling the gutter truth. sam never existed yet only as a figure to cope for his trauma.
Nothing have happened so bad to me as the protagonist had, but when he said that its always feels like 1 step forward and many backwards i just broke to cry. Im on meds for mood swings and stress causes by everything and i feel myself that way: 1 step forward and many backwards. That broke me.
Maybe take a break and stop watching these things if such a thing will trigger you to cry. For your own mental health. So nice that you can get on meds but take the time to rest from these.
This game was truly something else. At first I thought the game was just going to be about a killer trying to kill us, but as the stoy unfolded and it was revealed that the MC's sister never existed and we were just following someone, it shocked me! I was not expecting that. I also liked how they portrayed delusions here; not wanting to believe anything but that and how it feels like the world's against them. Then again I have no clue what it's like and will never understand. If anyone wants to correct me, feel free to do so. Overall wonderful job to Mediatales! ♥
It does get quite annoying, but maybe it's because he has a young fan base? UA-cam does seem to have a problem with comments being repetitive and lacking much thought.
I be looking at the comments to see what people would say about the game, and all i see is the same comment, maybe im going delusional, i don't think these comments are real.. are they?
Personally Ryan, I love your "longer less edited videos" exactly the way they are. The amount of editing you do is just low enough to keep on-point and not so excessive it becomes boring, or the bits become stale. Longer episodes are great for viewing pleasure, I want more of it!
I had PTSD for a year after an incident caused me lung failure and left me in a coma. PTSD is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced or could have imagined. It would trigger and I’ve never felt such fear, anxiety and a sense that ‘all hope is lost’. The episodes couldn’t be predicted and yet were regularly occurring, and the fear of having an episode was constantly present. PTSD is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. What got me through it was friends and family members who went out of their way to support me during those episodes. As awful as the episodes were, what got me through that time was through trusting the right people, good friends and family who would watch over me so I didn’t have to be alone when I had a PTSD attack. Seeing someone I love (and who loves me)during those episodes helped keep me grounded inside of the episode and made it easier to break away from the panic and fear that was so crippling when I was alone. Thankfully after a year the episodes stopped and I’ve not had one since.
@@ДмитрийРубежов-э1б I am happy to say I’m doing great now and the PTSD is long behind me now. As hard as it was, I wouldn’t take it back either. It lead to my dad and I reconnecting/becoming close. Couldn’t have gotten through it without him and now I can honestly say my dad is my best friend. Thanks for asking 😊
I always love watching Ryan play, and his longer videos are such a treat! The game was good and definitely had an unexpected ending! I was confused for a bit since the newspaper said someone was in the car with Alex, but then I realized that even *that* was part of the mental loop. It was tossed in there to throw the player off and make us think Alex's sister died in the accident -- a nice touch that gave the ending more impact!

I'm loving these longer videos ! Also I have PTSD but I do not have a traumatic brain injury. It was really something to see PTSD incorporated into a video game !

It's so funny seeing these games from like to years ago resurface on yt because the full game is released, and it's honestly so awesome to see how these promising games become fully fleshed out.
What a cool game! I wonder how many different endings there are- for example, is it possible to catch up to Sam at any point? What if you have a perfect run, not getting lost and getting to the box in under 3 minutes or make it to Sam in the 2 minutes. Or maybe it's impossible to, and that's just how the story always goes?
I'm not a big fan of this game but I appreciate the video. I don't like the game design, the story's supposed to be confusing (ala Rule of Rose, or undependable main character perspective) but it never really works, and all this on top of hammering down on people with the negative stigma of psychosis/PTSD. We're getting consistent false flashbacks, sequences that don't really lead up to anything, a lot of "plot twists", scares that jump but don't do anything else, and all of this just doesn't glue together well into anything I'd consider good or even average. I know its super indie but it's just weird to me to see so many UA-camrs have an interest in this (personally, particularly meh) game.
Thank you for the honest feedback! It's true that we could do some things better that way. Psych was our first big title and we really wanted to create something big. At the same time, the learning curve in many areas of game development was super big that some things didn't turn out as well as we wanted them to. However, with all the people's feedback, we learned a lot and will make our next games better! So thank you very much for the honest words!
at the halfpoint of the video i can sort of see where the plot was going but gaw damn that ending. this was a really cool Psychological horror game, an actual interesthing plot and not repetitive. thx for showing this to us and also thx for the devs for this amazing horror game
somehow this felt like Sam is someone which is a positive thoughts while the Unknown is the negative thoughts. but in the end there is still hope so i'm surprised.
Things like this is what make me want the Psychonauts to be a real thing... Imagine not only being able to diagnose someone, but going into the construct of their psyche to help them unto the right path of recovery, being able to see what they see. Like the doctor here, but without disconnecting.
I love that Ryan talks to game characters like I do. When that guy said, "You can have her when I'm done with her." Ryan threatened him at the same time as I did 😂
I’m at the part when he had to go to the phone booth and one thing i noticed that the unknown caller sounds a lot like the guy he is playing? Like it’s his inner thoughts trying to make himself feel guilt over the accident
First of all, little note (kidding it's LONG)! Don't say "psycho mode" or "dark side". This tends to portray mental disorders as evil, which there are not. It's not because someone is not thinking rationally or thinking/saying unusual things that they are "evil" and "could kill you". The brain is sick and is not entirely working like a mentally healthy and stable brain would. When you think, you consider a lot of things at once like ethics, laws, others feeling, the situation, etc... Mental disorders can interfere in this reasoning which, from the eyes of stable people, can be misinterpreted as "weird", "confusing", "selfish", "scary", etc... So healthy reminder that people who suffer from mental disorders are not to be feared, and certainly not to be made fun of (in general, don't make fun of people plz). Treat them with an open mind and a helping hand. Okay, now about the game. I'm legit curious if the dev did some research about PTSD and how it's dealt with medically. I appreciate that the story wasn't about "a mental ill person becoming a killer" cliché we see about everywhere. Tho, it would have been better if it wasn't that shoved in your face. The game wants to make the player feel like Alex, experience what he is experiencing. However, with Alex constantly talking about what he does, what he feels, what he thinks, there's a gap between the player and him. There should be more visual and sound design that implicitly convey the idea. Except from whispers, things disappearing and switching places, there aren't any other. And you can see that in the video. Ryan does not talk or feel like he is Alex, but rather like he is controlling his actions. The objectives and Alex's will is making the player do all those things and not the player's own will. Sure, it's a game and that's how games work. You do this to go there and do this, etc until the end. But for a game that is trying to show how a man suffering from PTSD is seeing and feeling all these things, it should try to be less explicit. Like the woman and the kid in the sewers that were representing the kid who died in the Alex's car accident and his mother. (tho you only understand it's them if you read the article and only once the woman says "give me back my son"). But what are the mannequins? Who is the hooded guy in the metro station who's mourning his wife, daughter and son? Is this supposed to be Alex? Alex is not married, nor have any kids. Is it supposed to be his father? Or the kid's father? It's very confusing. Nonetheless, it's an okay game. A bit too long and too much "walky" (it's not a word but you get it lol). Voice actors are eh. As Ryan said, it's not bad (like Banban bad) but it's not good either. Overall, too explicit in its story. Would have worked better as a short horror film (eve animated) rather than a horror adventure with some puzzles video game. TL;DR: Take your time and actually read for once lol
Hey! The developers of Psych here! First of all, thank you very much for your honest words and the very constructive, extensive feedback! Psych was our first big title and we still wanted to make the effort to create something bigger. That's why it seems a bit long in some places, for example in the third chapter where you had to search for valves in the sewers. Feedback like yours makes us realize that we could have done better and indeed we learned a lot, a lot with the development of Psych! What didn't show up for Ryan because he had played before, but what does come with the first launch of Psych is a warning regarding mental illness, that this game is about PTSD and that we take mental illness very seriously. Nonetheless, we're super grateful for any feedback to make the next games better. We thank you very much!
@@MediaTale Hello ^^ This is great to hear and see that you've talked about such serious mental disorder in a respectful way, kudos to you. And I wish you the best for your future projects. Looking forward for them ^^
And lo, since I love Ryan's videos so much, I spent a literal hour and a half writing this story of my take on CHANNEL SEVEN lol , and for the jokes including the most horror games played in a day and the most games completed without getting jumpscared YOUR WELCOME lmao XD - *8-Bit Ryan was no stranger to the eerie and macabre. He had conquered every horror game that dared to confront him, his heart never once succumbing to a jump scare. On this bright summer day, he decided to take a break from his gaming setup and venture into the real world. His simple plan was to meet his beloved sister, Sam, at their favorite local park. The sun bathed the park in a warm, inviting glow as Ryan strolled along the winding path. Birds sang their harmonious tunes, and the scent of freshly bloomed flowers filled the air. It was a perfect day for a family reunion. As he approached the park's central fountain, Ryan noticed someone standing beneath the old oak tree, their back turned toward him. The figure bore an uncanny resemblance to Sam-same petite frame, same long, chestnut hair. "Sam?" Ryan called out, his voice filled with anticipation. The figure turned around, revealing a face that was both familiar and deeply unsettling. It was a grotesque mockery of his sister, its features contorted and twisted into a nightmarish visage. An unnaturally wide grin stretched across its face, revealing rows of jagged, razor-sharp teeth. Ryan's heart raced, his instincts screaming at him to flee, but his gamer's curiosity urged him to investigate further. "Sam, what happened to you?" he stammered, unable to tear his eyes away from the horror before him. The creature's voice was a sickening imitation of Sam's, a discordant symphony of torment. "Oh, Ryan, dear brother, I've been waiting for you," it hissed, its unnaturally elongated fingers reaching out toward him. Back in the virtual world, Ryan had faced countless monsters and demons, but this was different. This was real, and his gaming prowess meant nothing here. Panic surged through his veins as he stumbled backward, desperately searching for an escape route. Just then, a real voice, a lifeline, called out to him. "Ryan! Over here!" It was Sam, his true sister, rushing toward him from the opposite direction. Confusion and fear gripped him as he watched two nearly identical figures approaching-one the embodiment of his sister, the other a grotesque imposter. "Ryan, don't listen to it! It's not me!" Sam yelled. Torn between his gamer's intuition and his sister's pleas, Ryan knew he had to make a choice. He couldn't let the imposter win. Summoning all his courage, he backed away from the creature that wore Sam's skin. "You're not my sister," he declared with newfound determination. "You can't scare me." With a guttural howl of frustration, the imposter contorted and writhed before vanishing into a cloud of dark smoke. In an instant, the park returned to its peaceful, sunlit state. Sam reached her brother, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know what that thing was, but I'm glad you're safe, Ryan." Ryan embraced his sister, his heart still pounding with adrenaline. He had faced many horrors in the gaming world, but this encounter had been a stark reminder that reality could be just as terrifying. As they left the park together, he couldn't help but wonder if his gaming skills had somehow prepared him for this unexpected real-life nightmare* . And there it is lol, I hope no 6 year olds read this, or they may never be the same again lol, but apart from that, hope you enjoyed the story, and if you are wondering yes I am an author lol, I am writing a story called long may they stand with 37,000 words atm, AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT AUTHORS GAME 23 hours a day lmao XD 💀💀💀

The most out-of-context moment ever by ryan: 40:29
I have been waiting for Ryan to play the full game for over a year. Also keep up the good work ryan.
As A Person With PTSD And Depression Due To The Inner Conflict Of Questioning My Actions I Understand The Main Character In 21 Year Unfortunatelly.
at the halfpoint of the video i can sort of see where the plot was going but gaw damn that ending. this was a really cool Psychological horror game, an actual interesthing plot and not repetitive. thx for showing this to us and also thx for the devs for this amazing horror game
1h and 55 min of watching Ryan, literally heaven on earth. Also this game is kinda scary
1:44:00 this is what i love about these videos, the honest and non fake reactions
Never in my life did I think I'd hear Ryan say "tripping balls" and its the most hilarious thing I've heard today
After a tough day, watching ryan's vids is the BEST thing. Thank you for making my day a little bit better!
Love you Ryan keep up the good works been a fan since the beginning
45:55 Felt that one coming from so dang far away man
This is just what I needed! Thank you so much Ryan, your videos always put a smile on my face x
(also trying not to be distracted by Ryan's' arms)
🤨
Same tbh
Ryan Intros are just the best, gets me soo hyped for the video
somehow this felt like Sam is someone which is a positive thoughts while the Unknown is the negative thoughts. but in the end there is still hope so i'm surprised.
I loved this game, the story and everything is amazing. It was so interesting to see the whole thing unfold 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Good job to the developers!
Omfg that was SO good! Such a good concept. Made me emotional...
Thank you so much!
luv how ryan is consistent and hardworking, thanks man
Ryan has the kindest soul on the planet
Ryan: bro can I use your phone please
Me: I’m using my phone to watch the video
Ryan, I really appreciate these longer episodes that you make.
45:44 *_I love how we could just recognize a room with CCTV monitors as “FNAF”_*
THIS GUY IS LATERALLY MY CHILDHOOD, ITS KINDA NOSTALGIC WATTCHING HIM NOW HAAHAHHA keep it up ;)
He’s my childhood too, I love this guy
I'm a bit under the weather and THE LEGEND, THE KING HIMSELF uploaded an almost 2 hour video. THANK YOU RYANNNNN😭😭😭
When ryan receated the run from the game i started dying laughing
This is the energy I was looking for. You got +1 sub
Ryan roasting Alex the entire game is funny! 😂😂😂
Things like this is what make me want the Psychonauts to be a real thing... Imagine not only being able to diagnose someone, but going into the construct of their psyche to help them unto the right path of recovery, being able to see what they see. Like the doctor here, but without disconnecting.
Bro, he's back at it again! This put Psych in my radar again! Also, LONGER LESS EDITED VIDEO! Wish you the best Ryan, keep pumping out bangers!
Ryan is a little goofy and ruthless today and im here for it
I love that Ryan talks to game characters like I do. When that guy said, "You can have her when I'm done with her." Ryan threatened him at the same time as I did 😂
It's always good to have those longer less edited bits of 8-bitryan
I already know this is going to be a banger
Honestly if ryan just didnt even edit his video at all id still watch it all
Game: "life is so damn exhausting"
Streamer: "yEaH I CaN feEl ThAt"
1:44:43 "who's hitting the tattletale notes" I'm surprised you remember that game
@@MediaTale Hello ^^
This is great to hear and see that you've talked about such serious mental disorder in a respectful way, kudos to you.
And I wish you the best for your future projects. Looking forward for them ^^
"You are, as i think people say, Tripping Balls" 💀💀💀
And lo, since I love Ryan's videos so much, I spent a literal hour and a half writing this story of my take on CHANNEL SEVEN lol , and for the jokes including the most horror games played in a day and the most games completed without getting jumpscared YOUR WELCOME lmao XD -
*8-Bit Ryan was no stranger to the eerie and macabre.
And there it is lol, I hope no 6 year olds read this, or they may never be the same again lol, but apart from that, hope you enjoyed the story, and if you are wondering yes I am an author lol, I am writing a story called long may they stand with 37,000 words atm, AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT AUTHORS GAME 23 hours a day lmao XD 💀💀💀
wow.
@@mr.nothappy301 Wow indeed, thanks took me about 1 and a half hours to write this alone lmao XD ;D 💀💀💀

@@lore4264 Im not a self promoter, but good try lmao XD this is all for ryan hehe 💀💀💀
@@TheHollowGuy I've seen you in tons of gamers' comments whipping up short stories, so idk what you're trying to achieve, but you certainly are an enigma. Not trying to argue though, take care.
My cat always comes up to me when i watch your video's, he loves it sm and watches intensely even though he has a short attention span.
The fact that the edits jumpscared me more than the game concerns me 😂😂😂
"I think this dude has some form of trauma"
*Ryan gets told he has PTSD way before*
Thank you Ryan.
I sweaw, Ryan's edits give me more jumpscares then the actual game...
Ryan's videos are the best. My little escape from reality for the day. Thank you ! Game was cool too. ❤
As a Detective Conan fan, seeing that the drug he's taking is APTX-4869, the drug which made Shinichi's body age 10 years younger, makes me happy 😍 1:21:20
