    Congratulations. I have the Wildfire version. Same manufacturer. Thinking about getting the aluminum inserts. I love where you installed your compressor. Might do that with mine too.

      Thanks Patrick. Congrats on your lift. The compressor being mounted up high is less vibration and noise. Rubber pads under the mounting feet helps also.

      if it's the same manufacturer, why does Wildfire use roller bearings instead of bushings for the cable pulleys? I thought Wildfire was a copy cat...

      @@davekwd12 Thanks -
      It went okay, he said it should be able to be done. The main issue is measuring space to see if the side garage motor will fit as the space there is a tight squeeze, so he's getting back to me on that.
      Unfortunately I do have to raise the garage door as expected so the overhead storage would have to go to waste and all that stuff would have to come down.. which idk if that negates anything since I dont want more clutter in the house/garage lol.10k installed for everything and that price point I'm just trying to debate if it's worth it or not.

      @@TofuProductionCinema I am sure if you are like me, I spent many years on a creeper as a Diesel technician and was never happier to work overhead. No more cold floor. That doesn't sound like a hateful price considering today's inflation!! I picked mine up at the warehouse that is about 1 1/2 hrs from me. Myself and a buddy had it set up in a couple of hours.

    Nice video! Thank you. Which BENDPAK did you compare? BENDPAK has a GP9 that looks similar. Is your lift made overseas? How was packaging for shipment? Any scratches or chaffing?
    Thanks again!

    • @davekwd12
      @davekwd12  3 роки тому

      Eddie,
      I believe it was the GP9 if memory serves me correct. The lift was packed in a steel frame work that you would need to unbolt the runways. The only scratches was on the bottom of the lift plates that ended up on the floor anyway. The only other scratches was around the bolt holes that would attach it to the floor if you do so. All in all I was very pleased with the packaging. Yes this lift is made over seas. And again what lifts aren’t anymore. BENDPAK is imported also. Thank you for watching and the comments. If I can be of anymore help please let me know.

      Thanks for the quick reply David! I’m kind of torn in the middle... BP is local and I can easily pick it up where I’d have to have the Advantage shipped, motor freight and risk truckers damage.
      I like the idea of supporting American and going with Advantages parent company, Steel Valley too. Maybe that’s why I haven’t bought one in the last two years of trying to decide.
      Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate it!

    Have you lifted your F350 with it yet? I'm thinking about the same lift with rolling jacks. Also and from time to time I'd like to lift my F250.

    • @davekwd12
      @davekwd12  2 роки тому

      James,
      I have lifted the F250 a couple of times. I no longer have that truck however the F150 limited is a little wider than the F250 was. I have also had a Chevy Durmax crew cab serval times now and experienced no problems whatsoever.
      The rolling air jacks are a must. You won't have any issues lifting your F250.

    Hi David, I also have an advantage 4 post xlt9000. When I have a car on the lift, I noticed the treadplate that is supporting the tire patch has about an 1/8 inch flex. I put a straightedge on the underside of the ramp below the tire patch, and the treadplate is concaved slightly below the tire patch. Can you check your ramps and let me know if yours are the same way? I have contacted advantage and waiting for a response. Thank you

    • @davekwd12
      @davekwd12  2 роки тому

      Shawn,
      I don’t have that on mine. I do see that the runway has a slight curve to them when loaded with a car. If you sight across the length of the runways on the top side you can see it front to back. I would believe this is the way it should be so as not to crack. It’s sort of the same principle as flex in a bridge. If if didn’t give it would break. Let me know what answer you receive from them please.

      @@davekwd12 Thanks for the reply. Would you mind placing about a 2 or 3 foot straightedge running the direction of the ramps directly under where the front tire patch sits? It's easier to do underneath the ramp without the cylinder. I get a 'seesaw' effect with the straight edge placed on the bottom side of the ramp, below the tire patch. Thanks David!

    • @davekwd12

      Nick yes you can. The lift would have to be on the upper most lock and the ramps removed. I have since traded that truck on 2019 F-150 which is not as tall. I haven’t tried it on or under the lift yet.

      Awesome! Thank you for the information David. I’m looking for a lift and I think I have it pinned down to the 11000 lb model by advantage which has one inch less clearance according to the specs. Did you ever raise the ford in the video on your lift? If so did you still feel comfortable with it near the lifts capacity?

    • @davekwd12
      @davekwd12  5 років тому +2

      Nick I did lift it and was pretty confident in the lift handling it. The F250 with 6.7 L weighs around 7400lbs. I have also had a friend of mines crew cab Chevy with the Duramax in it also with no problems. This lift is one of the best purchases if you compare the Bendpak and others with the stamped steel columns. The rolling air jack is a must have. Thank you for watching the vids.
