Haste is a predominately red keyword ability in Magic: the Gathering, but that doesn't mean it's the only color that gets creatures who can attack the turn they come down. In this video, I take a look at the 10 best non-red Haste cards!

An idea: "Top ten oldest creatures that still see play" ie, the oldest creatures that still are "gaining points" in competitive formats.
That's awesome! Old creatures really suck relative to old non creature spells, whereas newer creatures are getting so strong that many of them jump straight to Vintage (**cough** Lurrusnadubowmastersragavan)

But that might be a good idea.
Did you know Questing Beast gets a new ability every time you read it.
"Hmm, 'Pay 7 life - Draw 7 cards'? When did Questing Beast gain _that_ ability 🤔?"
Also: "whenever it deals damage, draw a card" and "whenever you draw a card, every opponent sacrifices a permanent."
Uh also "whenever you tap a land, you win the game."

My favorite bit of trivia knowledge in magic is the fact that there is exactly ONE white card with haste, that being og Akroma. There are the cards with suspend that get haste when they leave suspend, but i dont really count those personally.
The first non-red creature I thought of with haste was Akroma, Angel of Wrath. Saw it earlier today in an angel deck.
That's who I thought of as well. I was saddened to not have Ms. Purple Bush make the list.

You should do a series where once a week you talk about cool pro tour stories. Like an off meta deck winning, or how some people have won tournaments without putting in their win conditions in their deck because they rely on the opponent scooping when a combo goes off assuming they have won. Maybe cover cheaters in the pro tour, or who you would consider rookie of the year for different years of pro tour.
I am surprised than Gingerbrute didn't make the cut.

Anyone who played Standard during ELD KNOWS every single last letter and piece of punctuation on Questing Beast… A ridiculously versatile and deviously potent 4 drop if I’ve ever seen one and I’ve been playing since ‘93. Sorry, the quip about remembering all the text sent a cold bead of sweat down my spine as the traumatic memories of Questing Beast flooded my brain.

Fleetwheel Cruiser first saw Vintage play because it was the best colourless / shops answer to Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Before that, they had to play Slash Panther, which is worse than Fleetwheel Cruiser in several ways.
I run a westvale abbey in my Titan Field deck in Timeless on Arena. Every now and then it's easier to sac 5 zombies than it is to dig up craterhoof
I built a silly legacy deck around Goryo's Vengeance - play and swing on the first turn with Dark Ritual, Cabal Therapy, Goryo's Vengeance, and Nicol Bolas. This was long before most of the other mentioned reanimation targets existed yet, haha... it would just be better now with more discard/mill outlets (instead of Cabal Therapy) and more diverse targets to reanimate.
Bloodghast is such an insane card. It’s top 3 in both non-red haste creatures and top 3 vampires

I loved seeing Legacy Reanimator, the entirety of Dredge-Vine appearing on the list, followed by Hogaak, and then Eldrazi Winter. What a throwback.
Haste is literally just the ability WotC uses to prevent "feel-bads," but inevitably, it *ALWAYS* comes back to bite everyone in the ass. Maybe they need to stop making haste creatures that aren't red 😂
With the whole "no land animators" thing I was worried we'd get a few mind control effects as they often give haste for mechanical reasons too.
Now I'm not sure they werent considered or none made the cut.
I think the only non-red card that does that is Ray of Command, and it didn't have enough points.
I know it doesn’t really have competitive history, but the first non-red haste card I think of is concordant crossroads
It actually does have a bit of a competitive history -- it's been played in Legacy elves. But yeah, not enough points for this list.

I remember when questing beast was spoiled and a friend and I were going crazy over how much text is on the card. It's hard to think that cards on its power level might soon be outclassed with modern card design.

I was sure Whip was going to be here, being Goryo's Vengeance on a stick.
Unsurprisingly there are a lot of creatures that reanimate themselves if certain conditions are met on this list.

Ahhhh non-red haste, personally, the more non-red cards I see, the better. I don't really like red much. In a way, it's the exact opposite of "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
See you thought I would make a joke about being here quickly, but I wasn't quick enough.
I'd be interested to see just a top 10. People who think it would just be the power 9 are wrong, it would be old cards that have remained legal in multiple formats.

hmm, you exclude cards that animate lands with haste. But you keep unearth like abilites. Seems unfair to me.
Because unearth like abilites are essentially the same.
It isn't the same, because haste serves a mechanical purpose on those cards.
It doesn't on land animation, which just used haste as insurance against making thr wrong choice.

I mean, they are. Red gets the most haste by a very wide margin, black and green get it sometimes, white and blue almost never
But how does -1/-1 counters cancel out +1/+1? Sure, the strength stays the same, but it then just has both and the effect shouldn't trigger, right!?
Nope. The rules explicitly say they cancel eachother out. That's why it and countless other combos with undying/persist work
I think it was around Lorwyn block when they added this rule change. Everything was getting crowded and confusing with both plus and minus counters on the same card, so it was simplified.
