Great saw especially ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxnKxcY0vm4xjW8xkPbjaHuKt10gr-wG_ considering how drastically cheaper it is than every other track saw on the market. Only things I would mention is replace the blade immediately, the 24 tooth blade supplied leaves a lot to be desired.
I went and grabbed another Festool today to add to my very small and modest arsenal. I held this HK literally for 35 minutes.....trying to justify the purchase. Couldn't find a single reason. I have all of there saws. All of them. This was a bit redundant....and heavy as hell, might I add. Still cool as all get out. I will find a reason and get it next week. Lol...
This review of the Festool HKC saw started out good then cut to the kid that knew nothing and could barely speak. That being said i love my HKC for framing.
I buy tools to save myself time, not to save the homeowner. If I'm going to buy an expensive piece like this saw, I sure as hell am not going to be charging any less.
+Brett Kowalewski If you can save time it means you can do more customers and more customers means you can then charge less. It is the reason why Henry Ford built an amazing business. I will let you in on a little secret it is called efficiency and customers love it.
Excellent video. When the carpenter was using the contractors saw, I was wondering how the vacuum turned on, then I realised it was the corded version. The 18 volt hk 55 is a great tool and well worth it. I have the cordless and turn the vacuum on manual.
5.28 . You pay a few hundred dollars for a saw and the selling point is that it saves your customer money because they don't have to pay you so much. Presumably because you are charging them by the hour. That isn't a business plan it is suicide. Either take the job on price or charge the customer for tools and equipment.
The homeowner was so pleased with the, non pressure treated, kiln dried lumber railing I installed on her exterior stairs she invited me back to install this molding. With a tool that is clearly not very stable for cutting small moldings. I absolutely love Festool but I'm not buying into this video.
A solution to a problem nobody has. Speed squares have been used on the jobs for decades for doing exactly everything this thing does. Also when the speed square drops 2 feet, it does not get destroyed.
Surprising good dust collection when working with dust bag. But dust bag too expensive and last not long enough for price you paying. Cross cutting rail helps to do some frame works faster but can't cut 4"x2" timber at 45 degrees.... 110V (UK model) motor not powerful enough. Blade is too soft and nibble plastic guide on rail . Very comfortable depth adjustment but bevel adjustment is poorly. My verdict after 6 months: I will still stick with my TS 55, because I think this is best plunge saw on the market even rails mafells/bosch has better. But unfortunately HK will go on ebay.
had not heard of this.....so I went and looked, looks like it is more than the Festool.......$950 www.toolnut.com/power-tools/saws/circular-saws/mafell-kss-400-cross-cutting-system.html
looks great for cutting large rafters accurately but is that expense worth it for 1st fix? I certainly wouldnt be using that setup for second fix work I would say its much better doing all trim work on a mitre saw. I can see the appeal but millions of houses have been built using a trusty circular saw without a removable elasticated track and there still standing! a speed square and a circular saw for me and a mitre saw in back of the van for 2nd fix stuff.
cool that it works with original rails, but in the cases the video shows, I don't see it replacing a miter saw. if I saw someone cutting stop like that with that saw I'd say they're an idiot.
I'm very confused on this Festool saw, I thought it was made for ripping 4x8 sheets of Plywood/lattice for example. So you didn't always need your tablesaw. I'm just seeing a $1000 compound mite saw here now. hmm
Just use a speed square and a circular saw and you will get the same end result with 1/8 the cost. This product is not practical at all even though I am a Festool fan.
Does the circular saw work with a dust extraction system that also switches on when you activate the tool. How easy would it be to cut a compound angle on top of that with a circular saw. And will your saw also be as clean on the cut as the festool saw.
bighands69 Festool makes a Bluetooth switch which has a button option as well the attached to the end of the hose where you connect to the tool. “Festool blue tooth remote control set”
After 24 years with a circular saw, this seems clumsy, overweight, underpowered and slow. I'll prob get it just because I'm a sucker and it will sit around in my shop.

@@bighands69 Another lying POS.

I think some of the festool cordless saws have a bluetooth module in their batteries which can talk to some of their newer vacuums for a remote start.

You're everywhere I go. Anyone know if there's an alternative to this and mafell?
Come to think of it. This comment might of been how I found your channel
Spot on point a slow buck is better than a fast penny

He did it. Can you argue with what he did.
Excellent video !
in 2024 afger 7 years, is still effective or festool has released some new model?

If you can not cut a straight line go find a new job.

My go to saw,it's awesome
Maffel created this system and yes it's better than Festool.
Mafell build this system 15 years ago
You're right, and it's considerably better too. It comes with a flexi-rail which is apparently patented so Festool can't rip them off again.

Where can this tool be purchased……………
Thanks
I wish that I knew more about the blades available for the saw.

I’d spit on that person.
Excellent
I love Festool and own a lot of pieces but this saw sucks. Looks clumsy to use
I can't see how this saw makes one more efficient?
It'll save the customer money because you don't have to set up the kapex ? 🤣 An extra 3 minutes

This one is a really weak saw. I wouldn’t use it for anything thinker than 2inches
it's nice but, cost too much.

I love mafell.j'aime Mafell et non festool
Over priced JUNK!!!!
Make me sick to watch this!
And a professional carpenter, man you haven't seen one!
Or I could buy a speed square and keep the $700
Just an overpriced solution looking for a problem.
