- US President Joe Biden gave permission for the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. Also, the Pentagon said that this week they will announce additional security assistance to Kyiv. Meanwhile, the tank coalition is replenished, Germany has confirmed the transfer of an additional 30 Leopard-1 tanks to Ukraine. Details are in our material.

Ukraine must get F16 with well trained pilots as soon as possible, then only Ukraine can see game changing results
Considering that F-16's were approved for transfer to Ukraine a few months ago, I would have thought training would have started then - not now. Is this another instance of the West giving as little as possible and as slowly as possible? Why does the West seem to not want Ukraine to win? Heaven forbid that the poor Russians should not be allowed every possible opportunity to defend the territory they've occupied.
My theory is that the half-hearted support is due to the Western fear of the aftermath of the collapse of Russia. They should understand that Russia needs to be dealt with sooner, rather than later when things become even worse.

I thought the training would begin when the US Congress passed a $100M appropriation for it back in late 2022.

A nice and positive headline but even with F16s air superiority is not guaranteed. Russia has far too many aircraft in reserve it could unleash. It will undoubtedly help to make the odds more favourable, particularly for frontline assault troops on the ground.
Dude, Ukrainan F-16 doesn't compete with SU-35 & SU-57 superiority in dogfight but it will give them P.U.N.C.H.S weapon which is itself game changing weapon in battlefield.

Just by receiving F-16 you will not magically gain air superiority. For the equipment to be effective you also need experience

If not implemented properly the fighter jets will be wasted and there isn't an endless supply of them

F16 can take care of helicopters from long distance!
With both sides operating extensive SAM systems the role of traditional aircraft is significantly reduced. Even with F16 it's not gonna be easy for the Ukrainians to establish the air superiority. That being said having modern platform to fire off NATO standard weapons will be an improvement
The F-16's radar is the most important improvement as it will be able to detect russian aircraft much further out, allowing them to remain in the air longer and get closer to russian positions.
@@TroIIingThemSoftly yet Russian aircraft is the least of Ukraine's problem. Thanks to both side having extensive SAMs neither wants to risk expensive aircraft to fly sorties anymore. That's one of the reasons Russia's much larger air force remains mostly grounded. Ukraine will find itself in the same scenario. Not to mention Russia will do everything to see those Western jets destroyed both on tactical and propaganda levels.

The F16 will be a great platform for Air to surface missiles, just like the Russians does now fireing alot of missiles from fighters into Ukraine.
