I used a different upgrade strategy to complete the event. Car: DS TECHEETAH (Base PR 57.3) Upgrades: 6664, D3 P1. Cost: M$ 1,681,200 & GC 52. This gives PR of 64.4 after upgrades and saves you 2 full days' M$ earnings. If you value M$ more than GC (like I do), then this might work for you! Pardon me for late comment, but thought it might be helpful to have an alternative strategy. ✌️
It would be a bad investment to save 1 hr of grinding m$ and spend 3.5hrs grind of gold generally, but It would be worth it if we get to play at least 3 events with the same car, as the gold upgrades stick permanently

Whereas there's a limit on how much M$ you can earn in a day and hold reserve in your account. So, for me, M$ is in fact a limiting currency, not gold. And I'm saving M$ because a lot of my 2019 F1 Invitational series are yet to be completed which require a truck-load of M$. So I try to reduce M$ cost wherever possible. If I can save 100k M$ by spending 10-15 GC, I would definitely go for it! 👍
