It depends on the way you say like saying 'Great' can be somthing good or it can be something annoying Same thing with this phrase if you say it in a positive tone it can mean wonderful but it will still translate to 'waste of time' because Haval = 'too bad' or 'what a waste'
I don't understand how it can translate to shame Unless there is an actual phrase in English "Shame on the time" that is equivalent to "Waste of time". If there is i've never heard it before
The meaning of the expression חבל על הזמן, haval al hazman, has changed in meaning with time. It indeed used to mean that something is a waste of time, and that's how I used it. The first time I heard it, used by a friend of my daughter's with the new meaning, I didn't know what she was talking about. It took me a while to learn that the expression now means that something is fantastic, out of this world. What the connection between the two meanings is, I have no idea. But words change their meanings in all languages. The first time I read that someone had an agenda, I saw no connection to a list of things to do. The same with the word Gay and its Hebrew equivalent.
@@haleyhaverson8259 it's mean "easy" Like If someone gives you a task or if you answered a correct answer then you can say "easy" But I think tags it's suppose to write it like that "Kall"
Well, now thinking of it there are some words that we use as a slang : "Roola"-someone who has a big body.. "Rabaq"- basically people use it as the same meaning as "Halas"..
"Xemek" for Kus Emek? It means your mothers vaj and it's Arabic. But spelling it with a X is uh... a bit of a stretch. And how can you mess up Z by not mentioning the most used slang word in Israel? Zayin - which means penis - is used in so many contexts that its absence in this clip is a shanda! But this clip is three years old. I hope Renny has, in the intervening years, had more experience and appreciation for Zayin. The slang term, yo! Get your mind out of the gutter.
הסרטון הכי טוב שלכם, הבחורה הזאת היא פשוט זהב.

In Puerto Rico we say “Cornflakes” for every cereal too!!!!
Her Hebrew accent is so funny!!!
BlackDvil why? Different than native English speaker? Although she sounds like a actor in CLUELESS...
True, her accent is funny 👏

"Haval al hazman" can actually literally translate to "waste of time"
a common english phrase
Salea, it actually means the exact opposite to "waste of time". It means "wonderful", or "too bad the time passed".
It depends on the way you say
like saying 'Great' can be somthing good or it can be something annoying
Same thing with this phrase
if you say it in a positive tone it can mean wonderful
but it will still translate to 'waste of time' because Haval = 'too bad' or 'what a waste'
I think of it that way too, "shame on the time [for going by so quick]"
I don't understand how it can translate to shame
Unless there is an actual phrase in English "Shame on the time"
that is equivalent to "Waste of time".
