Volvo's new throttles UNPROGRAMMED?? Perhaps not!!

In this video I show a new throttle part # 36050563 from Volvo being bench tested for software. I show how there is already software loaded. The parts guys at Volvo dealers and independant parts dealers have been trained to tell us they are unprogrammed. With Vida software and a diagnostic Dice tool you can learn how to test and possibly match one to your car.
To use one of these throttles without visiting the dealership, the software in your old throttle must match these software numbers. Don't bother testing if you have a non turbo car as these throttles have software for turbo P2 series cars ie. V70, S60 or S80 with 2.4T, T5 or T6 badge.

I just fitted a new Volvo 36050563 throttle body to my 2001 S60--I have no method of checking or programming it. I watched this video and fitted the new throttle body just as he did and it works fine-the car runs and drives at least as well as it used to. The new throttle body was labeled :Made in Sweden and dated 52 2017.

Thanks, my etm makes a really loud high pitched noise, usually for a few seconds but ive had it not stop on other times, whats the reason for it not powering down?.

Spray the connector with WD40 then wait. Push the pin and slide open.

Hello, I plan on replacing my throttle body for my 2001 Volvo S60 with a refurbished one I bought on Ebay. After installing the new one, is it safe to drive the car to a mechanic to reprogram for me? Thanks.

I have a Volvo S80, but there is a defect in the throttle, I think, there is instability of the engine in the number of revs of the engine, is this from the throttle or not

I'm having the same problem on my 2002 Volvo s60 Naturally Aspirated
I wonder which I looked to see if i can buy the TPS by itself but that's probably not possible. Also from comments I see some people have to program it & some don't.
@precopster1 lmk if u have any advice going a cheaper way rather than $1000+ after parts & programming.
