Barnaby, overwhelmed? Yes, overwhelmed with feelings of love. Her life revolves around love and everything she sings is touched with love and it touches our hearts. That's what she does.
When you combine her magnificent artistry with the kind of person she is, Barnaby, there is no one in the world like her. She is so genuine and it draws us in.
One of her desires in life is to do what she can to make the world a better place to live for everyone and she hopes her music will make people happy and feel love in their hearts.

Written at 11 (or even younger since she said it was written "over many years") this song is a perfect little picture of the things that Angelina finds important. Family, Music, School... these are the things she values. As you said, the fact that she even approaches such a philosophical question speaks to how ahead of her years she was at this age... and then the way she answers that question really speaks to what a beautiful soul she has. I think as her career progresses, she is going to continue to give us profound and positive messages with her songs. It's just who she is as a person.

In my more than 80 years listening to music - I am approaching my 91st year -I can think of no other 11-year-old who would be capable of expressing such profound thoughts through very simple words. If anyone knows of such a child, please let me know.
I am glad that you listened to the whole performance before analysing the song. All of your remarks are pertinent, and it is obvious from this reaction and the others you have done that you are beginning to understand this unique person. One thing which puzzles me, though, is that you made no comment on her phrase "Maybe life is a warm embrace from someone safe". For me, these are some of the most telling words in the song. Angelina's's family have given her unconditional love and support throughout her life and from the time that she won Norway's Got Talent have ensured that the "wolves" of the music industry have been kept at bay, refusing all offers from them to sign Angelina to their record label. Angelina has been mature enough to understand the wisdom of their actions and in her song Shield - written about a year later acknowledges this fact.

Angelina wrote this and it is on her cd , 'It's Magic', which was recorded when she was 11. She wrote 'Oslo" on a plane going back home to Oslo, it is also on her cd. Both written at 10-11 years old. Shield came at 12 years old. All are exceptionally good,
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song Barnaby.The pianist is Dylan Meeks,he was a child prodigy on jazz piano.The guitarist is Ivan Mendez,he was introduced to the family by Dylan when they moved to LA from Norway and were looking for a guitarist for Angelina to do covers with.
Written age 11, recorded after she got that Newman microphone on her 12th BD. Born in Oslo Norway she wrote a song for Oslo about this same time. Her third song is about her safety shield provided by her family. The name is Shield and should be a James Bond movie and theme song with her as the star. She was 12.
Fourth song Million Miles is about the loss of her Grandfather and you’ll need tissues. She was 14 and there are 3 videos. First is a story line with art by her grandmother. Second is a live performance with a simple piano and cello. Third is a music video that she directed the scenes for with her her little sister as AJ when younger and her uncle/manager as grandfather.
Fifth was done at 15 called Seventh Heaven. About staying positive even though the ups and downs in life. First video is live with piano, drums and a back up singer. Music video has Angelina as a night club singer and another young lady doing kitchen work at the club while dreaming about a better life.

Hi Barnaby! This was a fantastically deep reaction and interpretation. Angelina in her originals and covers often connects with us by letting us know that the "bad" (melancholy and sadness that we are all subject to) is OK to feel. Then, with that trust built, our "good" is now easier to access as well . . . and we want to be more like the little girl or teenager who is showing us how to change the world. ✨⭐✨💖✨⭐✨

One of my all time favourite performances which expresses this same sense of calm and spiritual peace is Every Time We Say Goodbye on the roof of Norway's TV2 building. It is not a much view song and in any case the reactions are limited to emphasizing the emotion and the skill, instead your choice is beautiful. This song is a wonderful window on Angelina's world, on her maturity, sensitivity and on her inner search in the world of affections and in the reality that surrounds her, it's also the first example of her beautiful ability to express her emotions even in the lyrics of the hers songs. Angelina manages to convey her sensibilities both with her wonderful use of her voice and in her use of words, these are always simple but extremely evocative. I really love this song which expresses questions that are definitely not the daily bread for an 11 year old girl. Once you enters her world it's really hard to break away from her. 💛 🧡 ❤️

I believe Angelina was 12 years old for this performance. I have no idea how old she was when she wrote this beautiful song. Angelina has said she has been writing songs her entire life. We also know Angelina loves writing in her diary, as we have the video of her interview when her book was published at age 9 and she read from her diary during the interview. Those two guys, Dylan Meek on piano and Ivan Mendez on guitar, are two very important people in Angelina's career, Ivan, who is an excellent guitarist of Mexican origin, accompanied her at the beginning of AJ in the USA,a job offered to him by a friend who did not want to work with an unknown girl. fortunately he did an excellent job with AJ. Dylan, on the other hand, is a renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer, Jazz musician producer, with University studies in music and Postgraduate studies in Jazz and a shared nomination for a grammy, he is a child prodigal like Angelina. So they must be understood perfectly and currently accompanies her in her latest publications. On the other hand, Ivan little by little is leaving music to dedicate himself fully to his profession. The three of them are a very powerful team.

Angelina wrote this song at age 11 and performed it for her first album, It’s Magic. There is also a lyric video that you might enjoy with the orchestra on the album. Angelina Jordan is very unique and wonderful person. She’s kind great I met her Teryan she dropped. She goes out takes fundraisers up and it’s money to support. Children doesn’t have food or shoes or clothes in the younger she’s been doing it that’s why we love or not because you got the right thing or we know that because who she is and watch is become.
Barnaby, try her songs "Shield " which some think it's about her family. While others think is about God. Also "Million Miles" which is about the loss of her maternal grampa. And " 7th Heaven" which is another look at life and hope.
One of Angelina's most endearing qualities is evident here: Before the music starts, she is just a shy teenager, slightly embarrassed at all the adulation. The the music starts and she converts into her "Performer Mode"! She is her own world, where the music rules and her talent has free rein. The, when the music is done, she quietly transforms back to a shy teenager. I fervently hope that LA/Hollywood fails to damage her spirit. My guess is that when her current contract expires, she will politely decline another contract with a "been there, done that, not interested in more of the same" and will quietly go on to become a superstar on her own merits.
After all, she had a Nordic upbringing where Jante's Law is a thing, confidence in yourself is nourished but self-adulation is discouraged. She has some fabulous genes from her mother's side (Iranian/Japanese), a true result of a "melting pot" in an environment where racial issues are totally irrelevant.
