That is beautiful and what a great gift idea. Did you wait for the Tack It to set a bit or you applied the mica immediately. I couldn’t really tell.

I wait until the tack it dries. It takes a few minutes. A good indicator is that it is white when it is wet and clear when it dries. It you try to put the mica on when it is wet, it will just clump up.

So the glass is just for decor? What do you recommend for epoxy if you want to use this for drinking? Also would any of the steps be different? Would you use the same epoxy throughout or just the last coat? Would you still be able to mix in the shimmer with the last coat or would you need another coat afterwards? Sorry for all the questions but Thank you in advance!!

It is for drinking. I used a food grade safe epoxy on all coats. There are many different food grade epoxies on the market. I do not promote any one brand. I put the shimmer in the last to final coat. I don't put the shimmers in the last coats but that's not to say you can't if you're using an ultra fine glitter. I find if you use, anything other than an ultra fine in a final coat that you may feel the glitter.
