Why do people wait MONTHS before contacting a lawyer??? This woman threatened you, tried to demolish your driveway, but you decided to wait a few months to get legal help???

@@takoyt993 Would that be a real lawyer? A fake one might be better for the fake court room and fake judge in the story. (you can always tell a fake story because the court scene is vague, and plays out more like a fantasy of someones imagination than a real courtroom)

@@takoyt993 Well, parts of the story would be copied from real stories... but the courtroom part is just cringe worthily made up.
But, if i ever encountered a Karen under those circumstances in the story, i would certainly not waste good money on a lawyer. I would document, record, trespass her, and all she would ever hear from me is three simple words "go pound sand".
That last one... I can FULLY see the OP going full NC after leaving that household... then again, I can guarantee that her egg and sperm donors will say that she's the one being ungrateful to them by cutting them off, and that she's the one that caused all of their problems, when their only saving grace seems to be that they weren't physically abusive to her
But they are being abusive by not taking her to the doctor.. Tonsillitis can be very painful and disruptive, and in some cases dangerous. Most of the time it can be addressed with antibiotics.
Additionally, the period issues she mentioned sounds more like poltcystic ovary syndrome, which can be managed, but once again she needs to go to the doctor.
@@davidrush4908 You misunderstand, I said that the only way they weren't abusing the OP was physically (or sexually)... as in financially, spatially (or whatever the term is for restricting one's ability to go to different locations), educationally, neglectfully (which is the main form you're mentioning), etc. ALL of those ARE forms of abuse
@@beirirangu OK, I think we mostly agree, but are just looking at things a little differently.
When I was growing up my parents, who were financially well off, separated wants from needs. Food, adequate clothing, and housing, medical care, and anything else i needed were freely provided, I had certain responsibilities in return, which were simple at first, but were added to as I got older. Do my best in school, put dirty dishes in the sink, take out the garbage, feed the dog, etc.
As I got older I was not given an allowance, but encouraged to negotiate work for money. Mowing the yard turned into a small mowing business. Running errands around our small town turned into running errands for other businesses as well. I was rarely without spending money and was able to do most of the things I wanted to,
I could go on, but I don't feel that I was abused in any way. I learned that beyond love of God and family the only thing in the world that I had that was truly valuable was my word and time, both of which I could use to negotiate for the things I needed and wanted. I think it worked out well for me.
@@davidrush4908 and I wasn't given allowance ever, even for doing chores, it was either do the chores or I find and cook my own food. At least they didn't say I couldn't get/have a job and took me to the hospital when I got sick enough to need it.
That last story- In a decade the parents are going to cry about "why don't she ever talk to us or visit anymore? We havn't heard from her in 5 years."
Yes, the dad is saying to quit the mc donalds job because op is missing school days for being sick, while not getting her any medical attention for her extreme period problems that are the actual reason she is missing days
Agreed, these are the kind of parents who end up being alone in a retirement home with neither children nor grand-children visiting them.
Friend of mine had such parents, when his dad died alone in a hospital bed, he told me that all he had to say about it was "you reap what you sow".
When you push your children away from you, do not be surprised when they stay away.
Karen in the driveway story, has no legal authority to take anyone's property for anything. She can't arbitrarily cut in a street just because she wants it. That has to go before a planning commission to determine a variety of things. Plus, to use that land, she'd have to buy the portion of land wanted for the street.
It is such a nutty story that it almost sounds made up.

If the parents are looking down on their only child, maybe that child can put in with the schools help of course, a child neglect complaint against both parents because they neglected the of their child and be screwed over by it for not taking their child to the doctors or to hospital for their needs

if you knowingly, join an HOA, that their only reason for being, is to tell people what to do with their legally owned property, gets what you ask for, there is no rhyme or reason for a homeowners association, except that it caters to a whole community of karens,this is My opinion
When you're buying property you don't really have a choice, it's attached the the deed.

Last story where father threatens to revoke his permission for OP to work. OP has reason to contact CPS because first her parents are not supporting her financial needs and second medical needs. These are legal requirements and then after saying that they won’t support her financially they didn’t help her find work.

The last story, OP NTA. I honestly don’t understand parents like yours. My mum called herself a bad mum because she (89) couldn’t travel hundreds of miles to see her terminal son. I (almost 60) think your parents are very selfish. Why on earth won’t they help you succeed and be healthy. They should at the very least be getting you checked for endometriosis. Good luck OP.🙏🏻
Last story. Make sure to remember the emotional and financial support your parents gave you, when the time comes and they need yours... I definitely think it's okay, to have your children learn to be independent, how to provide for themselves etc., but this does mean enabling them to get a job, an education, to learn how to manage their own life, not gaslighting them and withdraw any kind of support. 😕

Remember, most HOAs, even the benign ones, operate illegally in the United States. In my state you have to take class and get a certificate before you can be a board member of an HOA. If the entire board isn’t certified, the HOA can’t issue fines. I was the only one on my board who was certified. You must have color chip or color meter readings to enforce house colors. (Federal law) The declaration must be constitutional, meeting both the state and federal constitution. Most aren’t. In fact, virtually all don’t comply with both state and federal constitutions. You cannot tell a homeowner what color to paint their doors or what color their curtains or blinds must be. (Federal law) The HOA must treat everyone equally and give due process to everyone. (Federal law) Length of grass is highly subjective and unconstitutionally arbitrary and vague. In fact, most HOA rules are unconstitutionally vague and arbitrary. My lawyer has been fighting HOAs for most of his thirty year career. He’s never seen an HOA that operated within the law. Including the ones he worked for.

On The Last Story your dad said it doesn't matter about your grades because you had a perfect report card so what you need to do is set your parents down hand them your report card even though this is going to be a bluff it's going to freak them out fire immediately with all guns look your dad's Square in the eyes and say you said your grades don't matter/ my grades don't matter so taking that into full account I have here decided today to quit school because apparently my grades do not matter according to you and thus since my grades don't matter according to you and you're trying to force me to quit work to attend more schooling what's that again my grades don't matter even though they're perfect there's no point in me going back to school because once again my grades don't matter with a perfect report card! And if they try to interrupt you look them Square in the eyes again and say hold it it is not your turn to speak yet I am speaking you will get your turn in a few minutes! Because this is an adult conversation and since my grades do not matter that tells me school does not matter and I am more than willing to go further into the working career that may lie ahead of me I'm not a little girl anymore I'm not a little kid y'all treat me like child I'm not a child!
