Your doing a cracking job on the welding mate. I need some of those clamps you are using to hold the steel bits in. They would have been so bloody useful for when I was welding my gsi up👍

That chassis leg looks pretty good. Could you not clean it out and treat the surface rust ? You could make it weaker if you remove it and weld it back on.
I have to weld up couple holes on the floor where the chassis leg touches the floor and all inside needs a proper clean tbh so the plan was to cut it off make sure underneath is perfect then put em back on they will be seem welded all the way down to add the strength back in plus abit extra but i totally understand your point mate
