Those "Old rusty Soviet weapons" are one of the best rifles, with big recoil, but it rarely(or even never)jammes, bullet penetration is so big, that it penetrates the Humvee armor. You don't just listen, do you? Like I've said before, you're to limited.

anyone whos at least a bit smart knows that so again, theres no point in arguing. but i guess what most of us here are trying to say is that armys strenght is not only about the technology or equipment but about people that serve in it. thats what shows most important in the end. and on that subject i could argue with anyone Poles know how to fight and its just not in our nature to give up.

have massive respect for the polish military. Their airmen in WWII were some of the best, 303 sqn was the highest scoring unit in the Battle of Britain and the fact that flying outdated aircraft they held there own against the Germans in the Invasion of Poland (german greater numbers turning the table). further to this the Australians in Tobruk constantly remarked positively as to the fighting spirit of the Poles.

(Sorry for mistakes,I am just a beginner)I'm from Poland, but I have distance to our"the best army".Actually our equipment is mostly from Soviet Union,or on their licences. But our army is still in good condition, we've buyed those things like Spike missiles, humvee or "rosomak" from Finland,in fact we are not using AK 47,but our Beryls, which are more modern and similar to western types.I think, that we have the best army in central europe, fully modernized to NATO standards.

Poles fought at the border for political reasons. Plan A was withdraw over two weeks onto the Vistula River defensive line. Germans, however, reached Warsaw in one week.
Pland B was to defend the Vistual River line at least for one month to three months. Warsaw gave up by 28SEP1939.
Plan C was to defend the marshy high lands by Romania for at least 6 months bringing supplies through the sea port of Cluj in then neutral Romania.
It was made obsolete by the Soviet invasion from the East.

The so--called Folk Germans were Poles with German ancestry forced into the German military, most especially during the Arden counteroofensive or the Battle of the Buldge.
Part of the reason that the Germans lost was the high volume of desertion by the "captured comrades" as German soldiers called them: the Poles and the Czechs. They were changing sides in tens of thousands, but not to get shot with their hands high in the air were sorrounding only to other Western Slavs.

To be exact, the Polish view is as follows:
World War Two in Europe was started by two great friends: Hitler and Stalin by a joined invasion of Poland with a minute support from the Slovaks in Sptember, 1939.
As of 1943, the Poles decided that Stalin is a lesser evil, and besides over 200,000 Poles already fighting along side the British Commonwealth (by 1945, 300,000 many surviovrs of 1939 + Folk German deserters) in the West, a Polish Army fighting along side of the Soviets was created.

there were few reasons. here u are most important ones:
-poland got independance back in 1918 so there was just 21 years to organise army and prapare to IIWW
-poland has been traited by france and UK in 1939 (they didnt react to german attack on poland althought they signed military help pact)
-poland had two very strong enemies: 1st september germany attacked in west and 17th sept. soviet army attacked in east. we knew about danger in east so we couldnt direct all forces against german

Polska armia najlepsza - udowodniliśmy to podczas II wojny światowej...

I have noticed on the US History Channel; the Brits and the French are in denile!
The Poles published a booklet with conclusions from the Polish Campaign'1939 in Polish, French, and English.
The Brits and the French refused to read it!
The French Campaign was lost before it even began.
The Polish military doctrine was based on counterattack! The Brittish and French on defense, and ... even the Soviets understood that defensive doctrine meant a nearly automatic defeat!

  • @SkibaFelix
    @SkibaFelix 15 років тому

They either claim that the Poles lost because they deployed part of the military to the border, or because they did try to counterattack (Battle of Bzura, or Battle of Kutno in German nomenclature: the counterattack was successful for up to a week; the troops wets from Vistula river eventually got double enveloped; but only 50% went P.O.W. because the Polish military required its soldier to possess Civilians to avoid going P.O.W. 50% run away in civilians!).

  • @acebars
    @acebars 12 років тому

Polish military history is an epic, even more so because they have always been outnumbered for centuries, but still produced results
For any Americans here, let's not forget that the foundations of West Point and the US Cavalry were both created by Polish war heroes Kosciuszko and Pulaski.
The Polish army was arguably the best during WW2 but was largely outnumbered & outgunned
This said after the destruction and defeat of Poland in WW2 & 45 years of communism, the Polish army today is a joke.

Only in one thing you're wrong you got help of one US infantry division in breaking the siege of Paris (thank to that help insurgents didn't were defeated like in Warsaw). In Warsaw our Armia Krajowa tried to do the same but due to lack of allied help (only polish bomber squadrons performed few armament drops, soviets didn't anything to help fightning troops)
Warsaw was defending through 63 days, against german army with support of tanks, planes and few elite SS units.

    It should have been "components."
    Anyway:
How to combine tradition, toughness, and reasearch into the sports science?
    Great example:
SSG (at present almost certainly SFC Marc Oravsky):
I want them to suffer on the fast long run, but I know that jogging just adds empty miles and too many miles cause injuries?
    Answer:
    SSG/SFC Oravsky's method:
Do not jog! Instead get your man to do:
pushup's, situp's, duck walk, or Iron Mikes!
Make them tough, but make them tough with wisdom!

i guess what i mean is the spirit and will to fight, that kind of things but you can't really measure them so you can only assume on your own experience.. but of course you're right, i said from the very begining that we are far behind. at least our ordinary troops cause special forces (GROM) are among the best, even without the equipment. i would say top 10 at least!
btw, where from Holland are you?

2nd of all - i never said we are the only ones that might feel that way, i just said that's what makes our army special, obviously when our equipment is not so great. if you'd read carefully, instead of calling people stupid, you'd probably understand!

Stalins main reason not to invade Poland on 3September1939 as he promised Hitler was?
    Number 1: He wanted for the capitalist states to bleed each other out; and he wanted the Germans to suffer as high losses as possible because he knew that they eventually would go to war against each other for political and "Living Room" reasons;
    2) He might have knowen that the Brits and the French promised Poland an expeditionary force by the end of 2nd week of war; and they did declare war on ...3SEP1939!

    As of 1939-1940:
    German and Japanese doctrines: Attack
    Polish and Soviet: Counterattack
    Anglo--French: Defend
I understand the French. They had a great reason to build the huge line of bunkers. Even Napoleon himself said that the French are great as long as they suffer on defeat; once they get defeated twice, they are useless!
Polish units fighting in France in 1940 (about half) found themselves fighting abandoned by the French; half of time only because of the French--German armistice.

The forest covered mountains are the greatest equalizer on Earth (9 out of 10; JMRC Hohenfels does not even try to put too much camo on the vehicles or "7th Serb Waffen SS" OPFOR guys, the "confused bad guys; rooting for their motral enemies").

@ledzeplad Of course not. I'm just talking about difference between invasion on Poland in 1939 and invasion on Britain - that's the point.

Oczywiście bez odpowiedniego uzbrojenia i wyszkolenia.

And you know? One of your greaters(if he wasn't the greatest)leaders, Napoleon Bonaparte said "For my Poles there is no such thing as impossible." And then Polish chevau-legers made through the Somosierra Pass. NOT French.

I don't know if they are the BEST army but im sure they are still a tough army...and why does everyone have to say that their country's army is the best? Are you fighting in that army? Have you fought wars against actual other countries/armies? Probably not. This is a cool video, just like it or dont watch it.

Mk Panzer IV
