You could use Komoot on the road cycling setting. It will choose the best route point to point, using popular cycling routes.
That's the one my husband suggests and uses for bike rides. It was how he planned our quicker route from our apartment to church in CPH. Google wanted us to take a different route that is actually longer!
falling off twice within 2 minutes, only you louis 🤣
really bad, high mount point for the heaviest load on the bike. scooters with their small wheels fall off easier than normal bikes.
Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman know how you feel, they fell hundreds of times in the movies "Long Way Down" some in "Long Way Down"
I love this video so much!! It’s like getting a little glimpse inside your brain - I love how happy and grateful you are ❤️ and the ‘bonjour cows’ was the best 😂
Nothing like a double hernia to get you in the mood for an overland solar adventure, ideal preparation!
Every single time i click a video from Louis i already know my vibes are going to be happy. Such a positive guy! thanks for the uploads!
But then it’ll never finish and no word back from him.
Like that electric van in the US.
Such a waste of time watching hoping for better results.
We just recently watched the electric van series and then here comes Louis, back with another electric vehicle trip. Just for our very stressful viewing pleasure. :)
Stop grabbing that front brake while turning! If you want to use it, be gentle with it and progressively squeeze it. Grabbing a handful will throw you off 99% of the time, even in a straight line. Progressive braking is key to load up the front tyre.
I love love love this series!!! It's so much funnnnn!!! The landscapes are just breathtaking. Congrats, Louis
Love this old styled video! Keep em coming
The motorcyclists helping Louis out as he drops the scooter multiple times had me cracking up.
I love the van across America series. I'll be following this as well. I'm happy the audio is really good and you are exclaiming over the scenery! Well done!
Great to see you on another adventure. Every time you hit a bump or had to lift the bike I was so concerned about your double hernia and it ended up being your back that caused an issue. Stay safe and have fun. Love watching you!
Even before I started watching, I knew Louis was going to run his batteries out!🤣🤣 but he keeps us on the edge as we cross our fingers for the batteries to reach next charging point. Who remembers the converted electric VW combi great trip in the US? Great guy he takes all his audience with him on the trip. Cant wait the next one...off to Instagram to check!😂
For an efficient route, you could try changing Google map settings to EV and the “prefer fuel efficient routes” when setting up a route. You can also change the settings to avoid motorways and tolls if needed
Google sucks ESPECIALLY in France.
That said we need to BAN YANKEE MONOPOLIES
Love this! The constant theme I’m noticing with this video: “I’m good I’m good I got this! “ 10 minutes later: “ok, I don’t know where I am” 😂😂😂
Just a thought, but would your back up power bank fit between your feet on the "running" board? If so, it might help with keeping a lower point of gravity.
I’m so psyched to watch this series. Good on you Louis. You are still always enjoying life and living the adventure. Boom!
I’m sure he will love the gift of the bike when it arrives… Broken and scratched to bits! 😅
@@dannygahan4718 Luckily I think the batteries are removable so he could buy a new one. Unlike an EV car that would cost many thousands to replace!
@dannygahan4718 I have a scooter from that same brand and they have quite big buffers both top and bottom, I dont think this would do any measurable damage to them .
Now this feels like old times following @FunForLouis on his adventures. My favorite adventures so far were the India trip with all the guys in tuc-tuc's, The flight around the world and the electric VW Bug across the USA. Loving the new renewable series of adventures. Are there any viable electric ultralight planes for the next big adventure?
Excited for this series! Love your content Louis.
Ay! Louis! Always making me stressed with you and your electric vehicles range ! I admire you for being so adventurous and a amazing independent family human!
Louis- you're so lovely! You didn't even mention your hernia to those guys when you were struggling with the bike 💕💕
I miss these types of videos, thank you for sharing!
I loved this video! It is so similar to your ride across the U.S. in your electric VW bus. I love these types of situations you get yourself into! You are a unique person, Louis Cole! Can't wait to see more of this solar-powered moped trip!
Be safe brother, lifting and pushing that moto after a double hernia is nothing to mess with. Nonetheless have fun and ride easy! Safe travels 🖤
Love it! 🥰 More like this please! Makes me feel like im on an adventure while stuck at my desk 😅
Great trip Louis! I've had e-bikes for about 3 years now and watching attempts like this is really interesting mate! Noice one bruddr!
Who puts the bike on the Cente stand while sat on the bike lmao 😂
Who does 15mph in cycle lane that doesn't exist on the left 300 miles on a moped 😂
Could feel the good vibes when you hit those villages - it’s fun sitting with you on the trip!
This just randomly popped up on my feed and now I'm totally invested in this trip!
That is a good bike. Have it for 9 years and it’s still going strong.
I wasn’t overly excited by the title but Louis you’re always so relaxing to watch and enjoyable. Good luck with your trip
@funforluis
Hello from Trujillo Perú.
Walker mode on Google Maps shows altitude.
Lifting 1kg 1m takes 9.8 Joules of energy.
1wh=3600j
It's very important to calculate energy consumption. Going up hill 10k can use as much battery as riding 50k on the flat.
Reduce your centre of gravity.
Put your extra battery between your legs, not on the back of your scooter.
Oh I love these vlogs. Please be safe. Don't hurt yourself ❤
its great to see what you're up to nowadays louis, i used to watch your vlogs back years ago when you travelled nonstop living nomadically, you were, and still are a big inspiration to me with your positive way of living and the way you live and share your life
iv recently got my own electric bike, just a pedal assist but so glad i got it instead of the usual modes most people still unfortunately get, i salute you and everyone who chooses the better option
I'll try keep your latest adventure in mind to watch and see how it all goes for you
i always wanted to bump into you somehow, i still hope i get that chance someday
peace out ✌️ enjoyyyy lifeee and I'll maybe see you somewhere someday dude 💙
Yes! Another adventure. I'm looking forward to this one and I wish you good luck on the road Louis.
I adore your authenticity, so fun!
Louis, look after yourself! You're a trooper but you're still human. Great video xx
Excited for this series!
I ride a much less capable/expensive electric moped around North Carolina. This is going to be a "gas!"
I always thoroughly enjoy a Louis road trip!
So excited for this journey!
This is what I signed up for subscribing to your channel Louis. Such an adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Sweeeet, love these solar trips!
Love these kinds of videos!
Another shout for Komoot for planning your route. Glad you worked out that putting it on the centre stand whilst stood next to it is the way forward. Lastly if you drop it again face away from the bike and use your legs to lift it up a little at a time is much easier.
Louis you might not feel amazing, but you look amazing you mighty thing, you've GOT THIS! 🙌
Hi Louis, hope you enjoy your trip. How did you drive in Europe with L plates for the bike? All the information when I have researched this it says UK cannot drive in europe with L plates
It must be more efficient to ride during the evening and have your panels set up ready for when the Sun comes up to fully charge everything.
It's then a balance of once charged, ride for a while later in the day and understanding when to stop to top up your battery in the remaining light.
Once the Sun is gone, ride as far as you can, set up panels and sleep awaiting the morning sun and charging / repeating all over again.
Loving this video series! Hope your back doesn't cause you to much problems. Looking forward to the ned5 video ❤❤❤
Epic road trip, the challenge, adventure, people you meet, memories that last for a lifetime, food, and scenery should make this worthwhile.
Fun video. Reminds me of the EV Van videos lol. A bit of anxiety but lot of fun to watch!
Lifting that bike up after surgery 2 weeks ago you are crazy
The outro!!! 🥹
Wow, amazing video. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
Please be safe out there Louis!! You have a wife and son at home who need you!! 🛵🛵🛵
Great video! love your content
Mate I know it’s rotten of me but I literally laughed each time you dropped it. I’m only 7 mins in and gonna watch all episodes. Looks like I’m a local neighbour to you too! 👀
wow how epic!! I love the "bonjour cows" :) bonne chance!!!
Hi Louis, I use calimoto for road riding on a motorbike. Avoids motorways and you can customise your route.
Well done for taking on this challenge a great way to travel and explore 🙏👍🏍️
Always with the best adventures
I was surprised to see you didn't have exacting clothing plans. And then I remembered who I was watching and what I seen you do. Louis, you'll be just grand 😁
Awesome adventure! 🔋🛵
Use brouter for planning and locus maps for navigation with the file you created in brouter. There's plenty of vehicle parameters to choose from, even velomobiles have several depending on your gusto.
you back ! niceeeeee
I just love these challenges 😊
Really good audio! I‘m amazed
The boom is back 🎉
You should have a caffeine battery as well! Love this trip.
inspiring in so many ways brotha
Best wishes to you on your continued journey, Louis!!! Your adventures are always so much fun!!!
This is amazing, brave to try this new tech voyage. Interesting to see results. Those NIU bikes are amazing. It's a pity there are public facilities to charge them at motorbike bays.
I love these videos. You could try attaching a solar panel to the back of your bike to charge your extra battery.
👌🏼 yes louis cool video and bike
Can t wait to see how it s going to work with the solar recharge. I would say you are going to charge on power plug somewhere at that journey!
This looks like an adventure I would like to have with my Zero :D
i used to watch your vlogs a lot since your single era. Your dad is still looking the same! cant believe louis still has that hair haha. I guess im back to watching your vlogs!
GPS, try Wayz, if you use bicycle guidance, you may save on steep elevations. Good luck. Pack small snacks like mini burgers.
i came back after 5 year! for watching your video ! very interesting !
Loving this idea! Watching now.
I guess you'll make sure that your solar panels are out 10am-3pm every day then ride after 3pm to deplete the battery, just to maximise solar? No idea on best mapping sorry. EDIT - should have waited, you answered a few mins later - 5pm set off.
Really cool Louis 😊😎 Just take Care & do not expose yourself.
We will be following this amazing experience 😊😎 have fun.
Great Idea to make such a trip ! I hole your solar Panels got no damage when laying the toller aside ! Best wishes from Austria !
I love all the EV/sustainability videos! Thank you
Classic Louis adventure!! 😅
I remember discussing with you, traveling across the US in your VW bus on nothing but solar energy. Much more of a dream than reality. This, however, is very doable. However,…you got me started on a campaign to have the percentage of renewable energy indicated on every. EV charge dispenser…so that folks can do just that. Don’t ever underestimate the influence that you have.
22:25 - A piece of advice : Never turn suddenly on a two-wheeler. Turn gradually and gently. 😊
I think when you dropped it at the ferry, I would of just left it there and walked home, that was so hard to watch 🤣🤣 I bet the other bikers haven't stopped telling that story to everyone they meet.
To pick a bike up, push your bum into the seat, gran the handle bar and back of the bike with your other hand and push up and stand up with it.
This is soo awesome! I got the same moped but the older version. You gave me an idea😂
Also I made a video about a balcony solar setup!❤
Nice idea, I used to commute from Liverpool to London in the '70's - on a Honda 50, great fun!
Man and you have the Learned sign. what a brave to do that trip.
cool! my names Neo too ! nice to see more Neos : D
In Amsterdam mopeds are allowed to use the cycle paths, may be worth finding out if this is the same all across Europe!
I would highly recomend Off Grid Trek they have very efficient solar pannels they work in low light and shady areas they are expensive but will work on overcast days
Congratulations to 2 million 🎉🎉🎉
Solar for the trusty steed and caffeine for trusty Louis hahaha XD
“Yes I could it’s just like walking” 😂😂😂😂😂
Don't worry about dropping the bike in front of those guys :D There's two kinds of bikers: those that have dropped their bikes and those that haven't YET dropped their bikes :D And bikers tend to be chill and can give you good advice and a hand in getting the bike upright again.
Doesn't Google Maps let you choose the route? I take out all highways' and tollways. I don't think it takes out hills. lol back to the battery countdown!
Starbucks express coffee comes in cans, made just for you, Louis on your road trips!
OG Ending 👊❤
Louis! Seeing you lift the bike multiple times after double hernia surgery is killing me! Take care, man.
Ditto, I think Louis is super fit that’s why his recovery was pretty good
Louis have you a license lol 😂😂 so funny. My god Louis you’re giving us a heart attack
He needs to lift the bike like Itchy Boots does. Back to the bike.
I got a severe bad back myself and seeing this makes me feel his pain.
@@user-cf8sn3nv5b I don't think so... He had L plates on in the UK, so I'm guessing he's illegally riding in Europe. Weird.
