I dog-bone but then lay them out and sponge to make them perfectly symmetrical, do a dozen first so they dry a little for handling. You can also bag them for the next day, they soften up with a damp sponge if necessary.

I always feel when the handle goes above the rim it looks off to me. (Obviously just mine opinion) not sure why I’ve made a lot with the handle above the rim but they always stand out as not as pleasant to my eye and also when they are in the cupboard u can’t put them upside down. But love your handles I’m gonna try them out! Thanks for the video

I love the tapered look. Do you use the same method for attaching longer handles too?

Thanks for the video. How do you deal with the surface cracking with the handle clay after attachment? How you're doing these handles is a really good look.

Thanks for watching. I don't have a lot of cracking problems at the attachment. The cracking on the main part of the handle is intentional. I use glazes that flow a lot and the glaze pools in the cracks and creates a beautiful surface. If you do not want the cracking you use wetter clay and it will not have those surface cracks. I like to show process marks in my work.

How do you avoid cracking since the handle is really wet and the cup looks hard leather hard?
