As simple as it seems, this is INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I know all my notes on the fretboard without having my guitar, so I come from a more classical guitar approach ( the note system), but I play jazz/fusion with classical/flamenco elements at all my solo gigs( keeping it solo so it's easier on the traveling gig budget), but the way you've explained this has confirmed what I always thought it was, that's why I say this is sooooooo valuable information!!! I realize that if you don't know the fretboard as a beginner you can't really do the number system on the guitar. I mean the whole fretboard not just the 6 and 5th string.

Hi Kevin I need your help on this specific matter
Actually old school gospel guitarists used to play swell sound when they are soloing during worship songs.
Do they push the wah pedal to do that pls? I have always asked myself that but still got no answer on how they do.
I used to hear that from guitarists like Rick Watford and Eric walls.
