Jon, maybe you aren't considering what human food should actually look like. Did you know that in nature, annuals are quite rare but perennials are very abundant? If you plant one breadfruit tree you can supply a family of four with all of their caloric needs for 75 years! This would obviously not be optimal by any means, but I think you'll understand the point. Permaculture requires almost no work and the fruits, berries, nuts leaves and shoots are very representative of what a natural human diet looks like (humans are tropical to subtropical frugivorous primates). Companies like Monsanto will never develop seeds for perennials because they can't extract a profit from it. Just some "food for thought". ; )

My version is growing with each passing season 🙏🏼🌍🌎🌏🕊️ Unfortunately, many 'current modern cultures' and the general flow of societal use of technology tends to create an abundance of hurdles to many of us 'modern interconnected' 'global citizens'. One day I woke up and found myself and my loved ones surrounded by all of the embodied energy of urban environments. Unattaching from so much of what is 'known' can be difficult. I'm sure you are aware of the millions struggling with breaking away from the 'fate' they have been enslaved by 😭🤮🤬 🌈🫁🧘🏼♂️ Thank you for mentioning permaculture. My wish is for all of us to comprehend it's reasoning 🌌

It's legal now in Thailand and I know there are a lot of local farmers trying to grow the new crop but are having a hard time competing with big company's. Have you tried putting grass or straw or some other kind of mulch on your farm? It's a bit of effort and money obviously, but when you put 2-3 inches of grass or straw mulch on top you don't have to fertilize, weed, or water as much. The grass feeds the soil nutrients, keeps sunlight from hitting the dirt, making weeds, and it also protects the water from evaporating from the ground.
Cotton farmers in India experienced what you describe. Yet, farmers are clamoring for more GMO technology and more managed agriculture. They have fallen in love with their slavers. Sadly, many have also lost the knowledge of how to do farming any other way than cloning US methods (which may be suitable for US but disastrous anywhere else).
This is really a huge problem all over the world. The government is really making it hard for farmers to continue their farming. But I think its amazinh you guys are training to use your own seeds but I have a question.. isnt the glitch that the government will deny your products if u dont use their seeds? I guess a corrupted system never wants anyone to be self suffient but Im rooting for u guys!!

Got to start saving seeds, and ferment weeds like dandelion leaf,flowers but the farmers are put in a place where they are forced to used GMO SEEDS.
