This was by far the best rally of all time: Two giants going head-to-head, swapping the lead all the time on the last day, to finish with the closest finish of all time.
I very much regret losing my harddrive with all my rally footage and a lot of onboards which will be hard or not possible to find now. I had eye in the sky coverage this rally, and live coverage of SSS stages too. They don't do a good job showing how exciting it was here, there were lots of cheering. Also Henning Solberg might have helped Marcus won this rally, because he ran the stage before Marcus did and found in one of the straight the road was muddy on one side and faster on the edge, so after he ran to Marcus as quick as possible and told him to stay on the side of the straight and that might have made the difference in the end. The 90s ad 2000s were the best time of WRC for me. There were great drivers who were larger than life and great personalities, too many to name. It's not just about the car technology and how fast it can go that make the sport exciting, the stages for longer and more of a marathon, the crowd were bigger, the sound, the better personalities, and more free spirit living back then.
With modern technical regulations along with the sporting regulations from 2005 to 2008/9 the championship would be thrilling rally after thrilling rally given the even level of driver skill and car. Stupid FIA. The WRC should sever ties with the FIA....everyone should.

The greatest battle between the 2 greatest drivers of all time
This was arguably the most exciting battle for the victory I've seen in a long time
0.3 sec difference in 354km... Marcus is just the best...
Rally Jordan 2011 Sebastien Ogier was fastest than Jari Matti Latvala 0.2 Second in all Rally
@@adriankasprzyk5364 it was only 2 days of rallying compared to 3 for New Zealand. Day 1 was cancelled.
Seb's 9 titles to Marcus's 2 I like Marcus but not the best for sure.
Never forget this race. Never ever!
the commentary needed to be a little louder
