I can’t believe I did that!!! And oh man was I paying for it all afternoon! Have you ever done that? Accidentally taken the wrong meds at the wrong time? I’m thankful it wasn’t a dangerous mistake!!
Oh Mary, I did the same thing a few years ago. My response after realising I accidentaly took my sleeping medication in the morning on a day I had to study all day (during exam period), was quite similar to yours, and I also tried to fight it all day. Indeed not dangerous, but very unconvenient...
I took my husband’s main Parkinson’s drug by mistake once. I don’t know what made me do it! I’d swallowed it before I could stop myself. It really made me throw up. Not pleasant!
I think it’s so amazing that Mary NEVER complains. I’ve seen comments in the past that say “all you do is whine about your illness”...like what? Where? I’ve never once seen Mary complain. She obviously cares a lot and is dedicated to making sure her health stays somewhat stable. I appreciate how educated you both are and how you guys teach us about CF. Mary says in many MANY videos how thankful she is for certain things. That’s literally amazing. I was diagnosed with a rare brain disease a couple weeks ago. And it’s really not that bad. It can’t kill you and it is livable. Whenever I feel sorry for myself I always watch your videos. Mary has it so so rough sometimes and I feel so blessed to be able to breath easily. I hope and pray that Mary gets better! You guys are amazing and I love your videos. I’m so so thankful I found you guys. You two are so so admirable!!! Merry Christmas !!! And god bless🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Brianna Dolley Suffering is relative depending on the person though. Just because someone complains when they’re not dying doesn’t mean they’re weak or whining. You’d be completely justified in complaining and being upset. I hope no one ever tells you that “it could be worse” because that doesn’t matter. It could be better too.
Just Gina well obviously. I’ve heard Mary complain but she doesn’t complain about why she had to be the one with CF. Instead she embraces it and is educated. I complain all the time lol. Don’t look so deep into it. I didn’t mean it like that.
Mary and Peter, in so many ways I understand your journey. I am both a retired respiratory therapist and pastor. Additionally, and ironically I had to retire early due to asthma and COPD. When breathing is a problem each day presents its' own unique challenge. While my breathing problems are not as difficult to manage as yours, Mary, I still understand those days when all you do is cough and stress about getting over this current episode of SOB. Mary, often people don't realize how complex CF is. You do a great job of communicating that it is, in fact, a constellation of health issues, not easily treated. Just so you know, when you have a coughing fit I feel every one of those coughs. Peter, I certainly understand the challenges of pastoring a church and finding something unique and inspiring to say each and every Sunday. My homiletics professor said that each of us only have about seven or eight sermons in us and the rest are just variations on a theme. Just as a suggestion I refer you to Fred Craddock sermons, on the internet. He was the great inspiration for pastors in my denomination ...Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I noticed, in a video, that you have a photo of Bonhoeffer. The Cost of Discipleship is one of the greatest theological works of the 20th century. Good on ya for him being your inspiration. I pray for you both. And I do not use that statement lightly. It's too often a throw away statement. When I say it, I mean it. God be with you. Kevin Crooks
My 6 year old has cystic fibrosis and we both love watching you and your family. It's an interesting perspective for me as her caregiver to see how she might be on her own as an adult. ♡ you guys!! Praying for good health always ♡♡♡♡
The Frey Life I will most definitely! Thank you so much! It’s for my IVIG infusions, and hospitalizations. I have CVID, and am constantly sick. But I hang in there, god is so good. And it’s inspiring to see you guys push through as well. I’ve even started up my UA-cam channel. We we shall see how that goes. Have fun on your trip! :)
You made me thankful tonight. When you were talking about having no needle in your chest while doing your vest. Right now my family is going through something that is hard but necessary after hurricane Harvey. You made me think of how hard things are annoying and painful and sometimes you may feel like they will never come to an end but they will. There is a season for everything. There is a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how dark it seems.and when the end comes we need to remember how thankful we are for the freedom. Thank you for that reminder
Re medication mix-up: Activated charcoal tablets can absorb medications rendering them at least less potent. Might absorb anything/everything and not just the pills you accidentally took.
I just got diagnosed with gastroparesis. I have to do a more extensive scans Wednesday. It is to determine if I need a feeding tube. Your videos have helped me a lot to get through my pain and have helped eased my fears.
White carbs (rather than things like whole wheat and brown rice) are the easiest for me to digest, too. It seems to be that way for a lot of people with gastroparesis. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this but it’s always good to know exactly what you’ve got going on in order to treat it better. Hang in there.
I have mixed up and taken my night meds on my medication too! Now have my pharmacist do those blister packs. They sort them out insert the right meds at the right times (Breakfast Lunch Bedtime ie:) and yes I have taken my night meds in the morning however not many times. Gosh it sucks Mary. It throws our whole schedules off for two days with me. HUGS Don't feel bad because EVERYBODY messes up! Love you so much! xo
Ryan She has two different set of comblers. One one colour for day and the other for night. It was a simple mistake we all make. Unfortunately I take so many types that can conflict that I needed to get the blister packs. Even though they are clearly indicated I have to be careful because Breakfast and Bedtime can look the same when I do not have my glasses on. LOL Now I check the see through area then take. Hahaha!
So glad that your day turned around after taking the wrong medications. Rest up and have a great trip! Love and hugs to you all from Florida! Take care!
i love that you appreciate cool doors! cool sinks are my jam - ones that are at odd angles, or made of giant seashells, or the water drains out in a pretty pattern in the grooves... beautiful!!!
You guys are the absolute best! Just wanted to say thank you so much, been pretty poorly the past week but my Olly Bundle came through the post today and has really cheered me up so much. I love your videos, you’re both so inspirational. Love and hugs from across the pond xx
i moved away from home in 1975, and for my first christmas bought my fontanini 4-1/2" nativity (discontinued now). my very favorite christmas stuff. later got an even more vintage one. over time have gotten a lot more fontanini. love that stuff. merry christmas.
Oh, Mary! I have the plastic, hand painted Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus! Those are my very favorite Christmas decorations and I love placing them on our table full of nativity scenes. None of them seem to be complete...😂Maybe someday I’ll get the rest of the collection! I hope you have a great time on your adventure! Love you, Peter, and Ollie boy!
Mary- I have screwed up when taking my medicine once! I took my night pill in the morning! Peter- I love wearing my bath robe, especially after a nice shower!
You are both just heaven sent ! Thank you for you never failing good cheer and inspiration...I can't imagine your struggle with CF, but I surely empathize with chronic pain....the trick is to rise above it and let the pain WIN ! You do it so well and inspire me to do the same.....love to you both at this blessed Christmas season ! God Bless !
Aww...Mary I take Benadryl at night too ( different reasons ) ......Years ago, I accidentally took the wrong pills too. One of my DH's meds looked exactly like mine, and I accidentally swallowed his meds ( which had two blood pressure pills I don't take ). Being in the medical field, I knew what I had done was serious ( and wrong). Because we had kids in the house at the time ( this was years ago) I always had syrup of Ipecac in the medicine chest....and took some of that, and promptly threw up the pills ! I knew that I was still going to have to go to the ER....and then, I went back into the bathroom to get the little cup that I had with the pills in it that I vomited up...and my DH had FLUSHED them down the toilet ! Grrrrr......Oh, well, it was a fund time at the ER.....the Dr. there got really weird suddenly came into my exam room and closed the door behind him, and ASKED my DH to step out of the room(????) I really didn't know what was going on.....but when DH the Dr. said "You aren't trying to harm yourself ARE YOU ? " I started laughing so hard, the Dr. got mad.....I told him...."NO....come really ? I swallowed two pills that DH accidently flushed down the toilet." So, with that comment he told me that I was going to have to drink some charcoal ....( yuk ! ) because my B/P was really low due to having swallowed the B/P ( I can't remember the name of the med now! )......Anyway, we ( DH & I ) had a good laugh over how horrible the ER Dr. was. To be sure, I'll bet he has seen patients that do things like that, to harm themselves.....but that's not me. Even though I have a chronic illness, I thank God for every day I am alive. Just wanted to share that story.....My DH passed away in 2002....and I haven't thought about that day I took his meds by accident in a long, long time ! Bless You both !
I did that over and over again so I get you. I once accidentally took my night time meds just before church while on vacation. I fought it, but felt pretty awful. It was very difficult trying to be friendly and conversational with the brethren while feeling the heavy fog!
Went on a 7-day cruise that got stranded due to Hurricane Harvey. Guess what. No extra meds. Lesson learned, when traveling always take extra. We definitely learned our lesson and that will not happen again!
PETER, YES! Bath robes drive me crazy. They are so thick, cumbersome, bulky and the sleeves are always droopy and get caught on things (or for me they do!). I can understand how people like to be cozy, but I'd rather wear a cardigan or sweatshirt instead. Every robe I've ever had was given as a gift. People see that you don't have one and (kindly) think "I'll get her a robe, she doesn't have a nice, big, thick, cozy one". Yes... that is true, I do not own one. On purpose, haha! I have one now that I honestly can say I don't think has ever even been washed. Not because I'm a dirty person, but because it's only been on my body a 1/2 dozen times for a few minutes at a time! I hope you guys are having a great get-away. Looking forward to today's video to see where you went and what you are up to! I've not heard if your plans for the holidays include visiting either of your families? We have a quiet one this year with just my daughter, myself and my parents. My pain has been over the top lately to the point where I have NO Christmas shopping done as of yet. I keep waiting for a day when I feel up to it. One of these days, very soon, I'm going to have to just bite the bullet and go do it anyways. Another problem is I have no idea what to get anyone! Wish me luck! xoxox Heather🇨🇦
I did that a few times myself, I told the morning pills in the afternoon pills. I take pills for depression. You are not alone, we are all human. Love you and Peter and Ollie too. 💜💙🐶
I love watching your vlogs everyday. Every year for Christmas we put up our fontanini nativity! I love the look of them. I noticed that we have some of the same pieces the sheep, cow, Mary, the kneeling Shepard, the Gloria angel, and Jesus.
That happened to me in reverse lol. I was like “Why can’t I sleep? Oh...” That is the biggest pro of having my G-tube though, I had a rapid allergic reaction to a new med the other day and just pulled it right out with a syringe 😂
Omg! I am just dying to give Ollie a big kiss! Do you guys have a VLOG of just all Ollie? I would see LOVE to see that and buy that! Ollie has GREAT parents!
Oh Mary.. I love that you go with the flow of your life. ❤️❤️ Peter you crack me up with your robe.. and I totally agree, I always think I want a robe then I dislike them because just as you said they are very clumsy. 😳I love the Nativities you have. I hope you slept well Mary. 😳
That sounds very much like something I would do!! Glad you were able to stay awake for the most part though... I love your Christmas leggings! Have a safe trip coming up...
Oopsie lol 😬 im sure youll be fine Mary ☺ I hope you all enjoy your trip tomorrow 🌲 You keep mentioning Scotland,do you mean here in the UK?Or in America?
You can buy dog coffee. They come in little packets and you mix it in with water using a bar mix or blender. Puppichino. You can also get the same with doggy beer and sports drink.
We have the same nativity figures. I always loved when I was little, our manger has a little fountain (or maybe it's a trough?) that works of you put water in it. I also looked around when your washing machine went off, it's the same noise ours makes. I got really confused where the laundry machine was while I was driving haha
I managed to do that as well when I was at uni - I was working in the library and accidentally took my nighttime meds including two different sleeping meds.... I had to ask the stranger next to me to wake me up if I fell asleep so I could drag myself to bed!
Your hair cut suits you really well Peter...really well, totally and utterly....Mary Yes I have done that one is bright orange and the other is a bright GREEN but i STILL got them mixed up. I take mine with an alarm on my phone to remind me to take them on time but I have different meds morn and nite ...so I just took the different morning meds to catch up so I didn't suffer the consequences ...it truly is a DOH moment LOL
Oh Mary, I have done that before. Ugh but it was the other way around where I took my morning pills at night and I have some morning meds that help keep me awake and concentrate better (due to me pain and anxiety) so I was up all night wondering why I couldn’t get to sleep only to realize in the morning that I took the dose the night before. Hair cuts are difficult! Even with my straight hair it’s a challenge if it’s not cut right, about a few years ago I have token it upon myself to trim and cut my own hair so if I’m not happy with it it’s not someone else’s fault
Polar Express is my favourite Christmas movie! I've also taken my meds at the wrong time before and accidentally took a Zopiclone thinking it was my nausea meds. That was a loooooong day at work trying to stay awake!
I know what a "bad sleep" is. I have to take a nap every afternoon. I don't really LIKE having to, but I'm so tired... and it's good for me the doctor says. BUT...I'll often have this dream or feeling, that "I need to WAKE UP NOW, WAKE UP NOW!!" because I don't want to sleep so much I miss too much of my day. I hate those "WAKE UP" sleep feelings.
Synchronicity again Mary! I feel like I have some of the same experiences within a day or two of you vlogging about them..ie, nighttime, disruptions, tube issues or whatever it might be. The medication thing..... about a week ago I had my FIRST med error just like you... and glad to report just like you it wasn't a big deal as I take same dose morning and night. Like you I was like Whoa that hasn't happened before! Too funny and Thanks for the smiles AND here is to the goofy mixups instead of serious ones!
I was chuckling when you were talking about the bathrobe, Peter, just the way you were talking about it. I don't even own a bathrobe. Mary, how is the portable vest working for you?
I have done that too! Taken night meds during the day😂😂, couldn’t go anywhere but to sleep 😴! I just roll with the punches 👊🏻 Lol 😆!!!! Sometimes you just gotta laugh 😂
I saw your fun Christmas leggings!!! My mom noticed my leggings obsession and she got me a fun new pair for Hanukkah!!! Just opened them tonight after managing two parties in a row!
Yes, done it and it’s awful - can take a couple of days until you feel normal again. Worst was when I woke up in the morning and inadvertently took my night meds instead. My night meds knock me out, and it was a double effect cos I’d only just taken the previous night ones a few hours early. Slept off the day, and then the following night, I couldn’t sleep!
I double and triple check that I am putting my night meds in the right one and then immediately put the night ones next to my bed and my day ones live on my desk. But I have totally accidentally taken night meds during the day. I slept a huge portion of that day away
OMG-SOOOOO thankful it was just benadryl and melatonin! You had me worried. So glad. I take benadryl three times a day almost every day. I take melatonin at night and it just chills me out. (Btw - my new puppy loves to sneak into my chair and drink my coffee out of my cup left on my coffee table. He's addicted!)
I did that...and I had an appointment. The driver couldn't wake me up and I take some very sedating meds so it was kind of a problem especially as a wheelchair user
I had a pinched nerve earlier this year and was on pain pills and muscle relaxers. I took what I thought was a pain pill before church on a Sunday night but it was actually the muscle relaxer which makes me very drowsy. I was hardly able to stay awake during service and couldn't figure out why until I saw the bottle that was on the counter when I got home
Omg a docter who had NO IDEA WHAT CF WAS DID THIS BEFORE. He took all the medicine.that goes into the nebulizer, PUT THEM TOGETHER and let me breath it. I couldn't breath... Rough times.
I have done that too! it is the worst, my night meds have few to make me use the bathroom because I have chronic constipation and i was running the bathroom ALL day and i couldn’t really go out, yeah wasn’t fun
Question when you guys put up Nativity up, do you put your kings by it right away? Since the kings didn't arrive until two weeks later. Just wondering I have a priest in Ohio that wouldn't put them at a manger until the feast of Epiphany.
I have done the same thing and responded the same way!!! LOL hilarious- but dangerous - at least for me. UGHHH definitely thought of throwing them up, but also couldn't.
Omg! I’ve done the same thing today! Benedryl. Melatonin, and amatryptline. Though I did throw them up. On purpose. Today was way to important for me to be drowsy.
I can’t believe I did that!!! And oh man was I paying for it all afternoon! Have you ever done that? Accidentally taken the wrong meds at the wrong time? I’m thankful it wasn’t a dangerous mistake!!
YES and YES I find your vlogs eerily apt for my life .. seriously the synchronicity at times is uncanny... have a happy smilley day!
Oh Mary, I did the same thing a few years ago. My response after realising I accidentaly took my sleeping medication in the morning on a day I had to study all day (during exam period), was quite similar to yours, and I also tried to fight it all day. Indeed not dangerous, but very unconvenient...
I accidentally took prednison instead of melatoning a while ago. That felt shitty.
I took my husband’s main Parkinson’s drug by mistake once. I don’t know what made me do it! I’d swallowed it before I could stop myself. It really made me throw up. Not pleasant!
The Frey Life Not exactly,I've missed doses 😊

Audree Rayon hi to your 6year old. I am 27 with CF 😀
awww your a great parent, keep it up :P im sure they will be a happy independent adult
Getting my first port tomorrow. I love you guys, always in my prayers ❤️

If that is the worst med error you make in all the meds you do at least that one won't actually hurt you! Love you guys!
You made me thankful tonight. When you were talking about having no needle in your chest while doing your vest. I enjoyed watching you two sitting on the floor by the tree setting up your nativity set and just talking. So sweet.
Re medication mix-up: Activated charcoal tablets can absorb medications rendering them at least less potent. Might absorb anything/everything and not just the pills you accidentally took.
Linda Burnside oh interesting. They do the same thing to dogs when they injest things they shouldn’t
wow this is so helpful!! why dont doctors tell you this! thank you

Candice Clark I have that all the time...... and can't eat certian food. Would vlog about your experiences?

Haven't made mistakes with medications, but I have put shaving cream or hair spray under my armpits on multiple occasions...
i love that you appreciate cool doors! cool sinks are my jam - ones that are at odd angles, or made of giant seashells, or the water drains out in a pretty pattern in the grooves... beautiful!!!

I'm sorry for your loss♥️

I agree with you Peter. I think it takes more to cut curly hair to make sure it looks right once dry
Goodnight Mary, Goodnight Mary, Goodnight Mary it's time to say goodnight. From the children song. LOL
Peter talked about his bathrobe made me laugh 😂😂
Peter, Santa should make some sunshine and moon stickers for Mary to use for quick and easy visual identification of combblers.
Can't believe how fast Christmas is coming!
lol Peter's rambling session was funny 😅
That happened to me in reverse lol. I was like “Why can’t I sleep? Oh...”
That is the biggest pro of having my G-tube though, I had a rapid allergic reaction to a new med the other day and just pulled it right out with a syringe 😂
Peter, I think I like this haircut more than the others! It fits your face really well!
Peter you've had so many different types of hair cuts. It looks nice.
Oopsie lol 😬 im sure youll be fine Mary ☺ I hope you all enjoy your trip tomorrow 🌲
You keep mentioning Scotland,do you mean here in the UK?Or in America?
Are you kidding? There’s no Scotland in America!
There's at least a Scotland Connecticut lol en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotland,_Connecticut
Yes! they lived in Edinburgh and they loved it! :) They vlogged there, too. It's Sept. 2014 through mid-January 2015.
Disney Gamer Sorry, I didn’t realize, I’m Canadian.
I've done this so many times over the last years 😂 sometimes your mind just doesn't cooperate I guess.
You can buy dog coffee. They come in little packets and you mix it in with water using a bar mix or blender. Puppichino. You can also get the same with doggy beer and sports drink.
Love the Elf wrapping paper.
Need a little table front of heater or on window ledge to put your nativity items beautiful they are ,
We have the same nativity figures. I always loved when I was little, our manger has a little fountain (or maybe it's a trough?) that works of you put water in it.
I also looked around when your washing machine went off, it's the same noise ours makes. I got really confused where the laundry machine was while I was driving haha
Been there done that before. The struggle is real. I did the same on a day that I had lots of stuff to do.
Love your nativity set. My Aunt has a big set. My favorite one.
Have a safe trip💓
The chicken comes before the egg, but baby Jesus comes before the chicken!! LOL Also, one has to agree: cool doors are cool.
You aint got no needle in your chest in your chest ah ha. Lol 😘😘😘😘 have a good trip.
I was chuckling when you were talking about the bathrobe, Peter, just the way you were talking about it. I don't even own a bathrobe.
Mary, how is the portable vest working for you?
I’ve done that EXACT thing twice before. The same way too after filling up the planner. :-) AND I’M A PHARMD. Glad it wasn’t dangerous for you.
I have done that too! Taken night meds during the day😂😂, couldn’t go anywhere but to sleep 😴! I just roll with the punches 👊🏻 Lol 😆!!!! Sometimes you just gotta laugh 😂
Hope your figures will be ok so close to the radiator, perhaps you should move them a bit.
Once took my melatonin instead of my lunchtime pill and only figured it out after an abrupt nap...
haha enjoy your trip!!!
Been there, done that!!! Have a good sleep!!!
Annie Stockton coffee can be fatal to dogs. A few sips here and there likely won't hurt them but it's not a good habit to allow.
My daughter was taking Benadryl for an allergy not too long ago, and refused to take it during the day because of school work that needed to be done
I’ve done that twice, so now I use a timed medication dispenser with an alarm.
Omg a docter who had NO IDEA WHAT CF WAS DID THIS BEFORE. He took all the medicine.that goes into the nebulizer, PUT THEM TOGETHER and let me breath it. I couldn't breath... Rough times.
Mary, who makes the nativity scene? I love it and would like to find one myself.
I'm wearing the same leggings right now! Merry Christmas 🎄
We have all been there!
I have done that too! it is the worst, my night meds have few to make me use the bathroom because I have chronic constipation and i was running the bathroom ALL day and i couldn’t really go out, yeah wasn’t fun
Mary I mess up alot filling my meds. I either put more of one meds or drop my pills and cant find them. My grandson likes to watch your vlogs
Your hair looks great, Peter. Relax! :)
Question when you guys put up Nativity up, do you put your kings by it right away? Since the kings didn't arrive until two weeks later. Just wondering I have a priest in Ohio that wouldn't put them at a manger until the feast of Epiphany.
I've done that more times than I can count. So don't feel bad. Just have a nice nap. Lol
I don't know if you have ever done it, but putting egg nog in your coffee as a creamer is awesome!!! :)
It looks like you put the plastic nativity scene near radiators!? I hope it doesnt get too hot there, wouldn't want the plastic to melt!! :O
I have done the same thing and responded the same way!!! LOL hilarious- but dangerous - at least for me. UGHHH definitely thought of throwing them up, but also couldn't.
Don't worry Mary I've done that before once or twice
*Oh gosh, I would've been down for the count taking those during the day!*
I’ve moved on from bathrobes to a sweatshirt over my gown. Including my new “Do What You Think You Can’t Do” one.
chicken... hahaha, I think its a dove. silly. hehee
Omg! I’ve done the same thing today! Benedryl. Melatonin, and amatryptline. Though I did throw them up. On purpose. Today was way to important for me to be drowsy.
Mary, mary. I am glad that you are. Okay.
I have to take benadryl every night too for my allergies. It really knocks you right out
Where do you get the large set you put on the floor?
I have done that. Took my daytime pills at night. Had to go the whole next day without my anti anixiety pills. Was a rough day !
Peter...this haircut is better than usual. It suits your face.
I am new to the channel newest subscriber I wanted to know what the vibrating vest does for you I've never seen anything like that
It's not a Christmas chicken Charlie Brown....it's a dove. LOL
