that was a long time ago, HI3 used to be based yes, and in the same way as snowbreak was focusing on a specific fanbase, but they stopped doing that so long ago. It's less about morals and more they're afraid that a gacha company is actually not being toxic to their players.
tbf, when you become more normie focused, you start making more money. it's the economics of scale. it's a lot more sustainable to earn $1 from 100 people than it is to earn $100 from one person

Snowbreak went this direction because the director recognized that people want a somewhat more raunchy game that knows what it is and what its playerbase is: waifu collectors. Just adding on to it, they decided to completely go the harem route, and it's no wonder their profits went from this ( \__ ) to this ( /^^ )

didn't SNOWBREAK lacks players population unlike Mihoyo games attention or Quality don't make very popular trends?
snowbreak lacked players around 3ish months after its release? but revived itself due to it changing it's focus to being a harem-ecchi game. some players came from girls frontline 2, and others wanted more of a "mature" game which sold very well because of the niche of a game like this in china. It helps seasun is highly responsive to criticism from its players and one of their leads works like every day except one day a month or something crazy like that.
Its now growing at a pretty significant rate since the change especially in china though internal drama is going on because of how seasun is paving their own path at the moment.
