7:11 is an HILAROUS take on the rabbit hole many of us has fallen into over the years: The impossible task of getting the best picture on old stuff with (whatevers's current) best technology - and ending with almost nothing connected.Kevin's pragmatic take is just so refreshing.
Thanks for answering my question, I thought you would say Genesis as your favorite to collect for. Best of luck on your UA-cam endeavors, I hope your channels continue to grow.
What got me into retro gaming is when I began to see the mini consoles coming out that had vintage games from Atari, Coleco, and Intellivision. I had those consoles and a few games in storage. I got in pretty late, as in 4-5 years ago. By then consoles and games, especially cartridges, were on the way towards the sky! There was also a large degree of nostalgia as I remember watching my sons and their friends play these games. The Christmas and birthday wish lists with consoles and games listed. All of these kids are now adults with their own kids playing the Switch, PS5 and Xbox!
Thank you for answering my questions! Sorry I asked so many.😅 You should include the shots T-Rex ruins if you do bloopers some time. I’m sure they are hilarious.
20:29 spot on advice. It's so refreshing to hear a gamer/collector who actively encourages emulation and doesn't treat it like a dirty peasants option. I myself own old stuff and new (nowhere near your quantity) 8 systems in total from ps1 to wii to ps5 around 10-40 games per console depending, and I did own much more in my younger years like Sega megadrive and gameboy advance etc, but I downsized due to room, money and children. Now I'm very happy to use emulation to play any game and system I don't own anymore like nes, or gameboy advance. The retro snobbery on UA-cam gets very tiresome, emulation really is the only practical means to play all these older games outside of a bank loan.
No computers... draw the line... I remember telling myself that, but obviously after 30+ computers that I don't listen 🙈 Great video as usual, best of luck in the new channel👍
@@GamingTheSystems1 the computers are the smaller part of my collection, in total there're > 300 consoles/handhelds/computers, 95% are stored across multiple locations, which limits maintenance to what will be used in a specific time unfortunately 😬
I clicked both oven mitt buttons, really don't want to burn my hands. ... kidding. Watched all your videos so far, very cool stuff. Very likable guy. Thanks for the content, and look forward to more of your videos!
He nailed the most repaired systems right on the head. I constantly have a love/hate relationship with my NES and XBOX because they always cause problems.
9:11 my ps3 fat ps2 backwards compatible system has been repaired 3 times (networking board once, and then ylod twice) and now fan just went out. So I looked it up on Ebay and mine takes the super rare 19 blade fan that runs about $75. EEERRRRRRR!!!! I do have a backup ps3 and a ps2 so......
The NES has a start up problem because you would bend the pins by locking down the cartridge tray. I learned that you can boot up the game by not locking down the tray. By leaving the tray up, you avoid bending the pins. People say it starts up much better.
I found a copy of Swordquest Waterworld in a lot of 70 Atari games I got for $60. I sold it for 125 on Ebay a month later..I wish I would have kept it.
I've been digital only for years now as an exclusive PC gamer. The last disc I bought was in 2009. Consoles will go digital only eventually too, it's only a matter of time.
I find you very entertaining and I do like your little jokes you put in it builds character and some of them are pretty clever. I hope you keep doing well as for the speech issues I for one know we all have our issues but brother never think it should hold you back from anything keep up the awesome work!
Exciting questions with helpful tips in your answers. Last year I started to collect consoles by myself, but only the most popular ones. Great tip to Not collect games. I plan to only buy a few games for each system, at least one good game for each system, and having all emulators of all systems and all games on a pc for actually playing them. I'm fine about having the games non physical, it saves space and is cheaper. The consoles itself I like to keep them on shelves, keep them in working condition, but also planning to upgrade some of them, especially the Dreamcast, for it can run the games from SD via GDEMU.
Absolutely love your channel! I think we're on the same wavelength on collecting retro games. Question, do you think plugging multiplugs into an APC with surge+battery backup is any kind of fire hazard? Example, 12 in 1 multi plug with all 12 plugs filled and one console turned on, plugged into an APC which is plugged into the wall. Would this be any kind of hazard?
Hey GTS! Was curious what outputs you use with each system? RF/Composite/S-Video/HDMI/etc? Do you use any upscalers or anything for your older consoles or do you just run them through a switcher of some kind into your CRT? Mostly curious about the device that looks like an OSSC between two of your consoles I've seen in a previous video.
Have you ever bought repro carts for games? What is your general opinion on people buying repros? I got a few myself mainly of stuff that are way too expensive fir the real thing
10:05 What about some of your original Xbox games that are not compatible on the Xbox One or Series X, but still compatible on the Xbox 360? Do you also play them on your Xbox 360?
@@GamingTheSystems1 I lost a ton of MTG cards in a move once - I know the feeling! I just wish I still had the Virtual Boy to play, despite how clunky it was. I don't even want to know what they sell for now...
Welcome to the new channel. Sorry about the echo. I put up sound dampening afterward and now the echo is gone.

You should do one of these superimposed over a picture of your game room just to fuel the CGI myth. 😆
Maybe I'm CGI.

Sounds like a job for Rodney to investigate!

Hey thanks for featuring my questions. Caught me off guard. I was like "hey! That's me"
I like how he will ask people to leave there questions on his videos and not be like the other gaming channels only answers questions from Patrion.
6:22 ruins your shots? Excuse me? I'd say anything with a cat in it is instantly enhanced

New subscriber to your channel. Retro gamer here too early 40s started in Japan with an famicom and pc engine. Became a Sega kid though.
Amen about your answer to the upscaling question. I ONLY upscale for recording and for GTA Vice City HAHA!

Thanks. I do have speech issues, but when you see me talking in front of the camera, I'm not using a script. That accounts for some of the difficulty.
have you ever thought of using an HD CRT for the later classic consoles or do you prefer an SD CRT
I have an attachment (totally healthy) to the current CRT because it's the one I gamed on when I was much younger.
The room isn't CGI... You are
Great vid! Really enjoyed the extra clips and humour throughout. 😁👍

The original xbox isn't too bad to work on if you mod it since you can replace the HDD a lot easier and still use it if the disc drive has issues
Very enjoyable video to watch
That's the same reaction i have watching MLIG videos.
