Yes, unfortunately our commentators usually act like that, still! It was obviously the second American swimmer, Nancy Hogshead, who was struggling. She slowed dramatically the last 10 meters and lost the bronze medal.

Well of course! Especially because the Olympics were held on home turf and whatever network featured the games, in this case ABC for ratings!
