I saw this model on scalemodelstore like ten hours ago and at first I thought it had to be some sort of mistake because I didn’t see it on any other site or any announcements for it. What a delightful surprise this has been!
I really wonder how much market demand is even left? I was all in on 1:500, and even bought a few here and there the last few years, but moved on to 1:400 entirely last year. At some point hoping for some manufacturer to come in and save us from Herpa’s mess was just a pointless exercise. Even another manufacturer isn’t enough when you have five operating in 1:400 churning out basically everything you could possibly want at basically the same price.
Don't worry, there are still plenty of people who collect and still prefer the 1:500 scale. Just because you have changed the scale does not mean that the scale in general no longer has any fans. Even if Herpa's policies have clearly damaged the scale, your comment sounds a bit too much like bad faith.
@ I am going to calmly respond since you seem to be riled up and have taken my comment personally. In the US where I am, many hobby stores don’t carry 1:500 any more, and half the online stores I frequent have dropped it completely except by special request. The forum I enjoyed discussing has faded from almost any 1:500 at all. I had held out hope things would change, but at some point, especially as an US collector, you have to move on. It appears many in the US have based on all these changes.

@Barney_the_Pufferfishat first that’s the mistake I thought their website made, but that was not a mistake at all.

Huge news! Let’s hope they plan to release more
Wow!!! Any chance of finding it at the Amsterdam Aviation Collectors Fair in February?
Thx for the heads up. I went ahead and ordered one.
Is it a store like Aviation Megastore or is it just for online shopping?
Very cool news!
And the price is very impressive, 29€
now is the chance for Herpa to make a Ryanair 737Max 8
That is unexpected but cool.
Yup, I shop at that store all the time. Excellent site.
