The story behind how this song was written is actually pretty nice When I googled the translation of the title in korean it said something like "the boy who brings rain"; and as far as I understood, it's based on an internal joke about how it always rains or drizzles when onewe has some schedule, so I interpreted it as onewe being the boys who bring rain, since it seems to follow them around It even actually drizzled for a bit on their recording day for the MV That's what I gathered, at least I loved your video and your comments on it! cya is actually pronounced like 'key-ya', not that we expect the 'c' to have a 'k' sound there (it trips pretty much everyone up at first) i love the energy here... like you said, it's not what we typically get from the guys... and they just seemed to get more and more hectic, more desperate, as the water rose (...also, harin, the drummer, still managing to hit the beats in all that water... even knowing no audio was being recorded at the time... and cya managing to be with the filming since he's got a fear of drowning...). the instruments and equipment in all that water hurt me, though... not gonna lie. it looked amazing but just... ouch if i recall, this was another song written by kanghyun, their guitarist ...edited specifically to add how addictive that guitar and chorus part is... just found myself humming it yet again as was about to close the tab out...
Regulus, Parting and Rain To Be are all written and compose by kanghyun. with cya co-wrote and co-composed. at least for title track. in this album. aurora, and cosmos is another song written and composed by kanghyun. btw, people in twt said, they(rbw/onewe) already confirm all those instrument are imitation/fake with exception of dongmyeong keytar. he kinda donate or sacrifice that keytar. his 1st ever keytar for the sake of this MV.
The funniest part is that we know they watch reaction videos because the members have taken to sometimes calling him 'see-ya' with big grins on their faces and they are 100% amused.
I clicked so fast when I saw the notification! Rain To Be has this somber feeling to it but I love how fast-paced it is and so full of energy that's perfect for summer. The melody, the chorus, and hook is soo catchy! I've been singing and humming it unconsciously the whole day. Everything just fits so well, there's nothing that feels out of place. The structure kind of reminds me of Parting too, even that little break in music you mentioned. Probably because it's also written and composed by Kanghyun, the guitarist. Kanghyun got the inspiration for this by the fact that fans and other people are sometimes reminded of Onewe whenever it's raining because it often rains when they have schedules. That's why they got the name, "Boys Who Bring Rain" (The Korean title is actually The Boy Who Brings Rain, btw!) They just released the making film for the MV yesterday and the boys worked really hard to film this. They've been in and out of the cold water for hours, late at night. They were literally freezing but it's amazing how they were still able to perform well in front of the camera, especially Harin who managed to stay on beat despite the drum kit being entirely submerged in the water. Dongmyeong really has that insane charisma and stage presence that'll draw you in an instant. As for CyA's name, it's pronounced as "key-ah". Excited to see your reaction for the live stage! I thought the same thing about the energy of their performance vs. the song - the MV gives me Tears Don't Fall vibes but this song is so chill and clean 😂 Turns out ONEWE might be what finally gets me into boy groups a bit more though! Planet Nine: Alter Ego is my FAVORITE album of all times, I think this is really the first time I really really like all the song in the album almost equally and in order. If you react to the album, I hope you will listen to it in order. There's just a different experience in there musically whether you know the lyrics or not (or at least that's what I think).
