Carole, Thank you for sharing your holiday pictures, They are so fun. You make your sewing look so effortless, too. Seeing your Oboe made me remember when my grandson was in the orchestra and played the clarinet and running to the music store to get new reeds or having the pads replaced on the keys or whatever. He was very particular about his clarinet. Thank you for bringing back the memories for me. 🙏❤🙏
Thanks Maureen, I am glad you liked the photos. My kids aren't interested in seeing them so it is nice to share! Oh reeds for instruments, don't get me started ha ha. There is always something going on with reeds and they are so fragile, honestly the flute is so much easier, you just pick it up and blow 😂. I am going to enjoy going back to the flute but I must practice before Monday and stop sewing 😊 Enjoy your weekend whatever you are doing x
What beautiful travel photos! Thanks for sharing. I did my trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It was a perfect day to go. A small attendance and a cool breeze. We walked over 5 miles and I was exhausted. The park was amazing and the guests were all so polite. I’m so disappointed that I will miss you at the Expo. It is so much fun to attend. I’ll be going to the one in Ohio. Safe travels!
Hi Susan. I'm so pleased you had a successful trip to Animal Kingdom. We always say Disney is a 'walking holiday'! Don't you just walk miles and miles and I also wonder how little children seem still to be skipping and running at the end of the day?! You were so lucky it was quiet, did you manage to do many rides and attractions? When we go to Florida in March we may do a day visit to one of the parks but in the UK all you can get is 7 or 14 day tickets in advance (the same price!). We only want the one day so we are leaving it to fate that we can buy a one day ticket when we are there. Such a shame I won't be meeting you at the Expo. It was only by pure chance that our holiday coincided with it. Thanks for your support on my channel and have a great week 😊

Hi Jane, a Christmas in the snow I imagine would be amazing for you. We did have one Christmas in Austria years ago and it was really different. Their main day is Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day (for us) seemed just back to normal for them! It was truly magical though so I hope you enjoy it. Hi Andra, I can't believe that cardi has been in my wardrobe for so long and it only took 30 mins to complete 😂. I have worn it a few times now and really quite like it! Hi Lynn and thank you as ever for being so kind! When I got my Coverstitch I really didn't think I would get much use out of it but I was so wrong. I don't know why I held off for so long 😂 Do let me know what colours you get and what you do with yours, the challenge for me was the small contrasting piece but the plus side is I can make some joggers for the little one out of the remaining fabric 👏. I love the cardigan. It is very flattering with the flutter hem at your hips. Pockets would be great, but they will also add weight, so that's a toss up!
Flutter hem! That's brilliant and I thought it looked weird so I am even happier with that now 😁. You are right about pockets, especially in a knit but it is so funny I automatically went looking for them! Thanks again x

I really enjoyed your video today, what great fun, but the cold! My thin blooded self could not stand that kind of cold. I love your makes, especially the cardigan and top, the i don’t have that pattern, so…… I would love to have the patterns from group 2 as I sew for some elderly ladies periodically. Wonderful video! Piccolo & oboe are So different in size, for sure! I’ve played clarinet since I was 10, but getting a bit rusty since I don’t play it much anymore! I love the group 2 patterns 😉
Hi Lori, Lovely to hear that you played the Clarinet. That is the thing about this orchestra, it makes you play every week even if you never practice at home. If I wasn't for being in that no way would I still be playing anything! I played my Flute tonight and it was so much easier than the oboe 😂🎶I have put you down for Group 2 patterns. Happy Friday Carole! You are so close to 2k - congrats. I just got out that same pattern and am making it as well. I love patterns that have the jacket, top and bottoms all in one! Your trip pictures are beautiful. We were in Salzburg this Fall just for the day, but I wish we could have stayed longer. I had to laugh when I heard a buzzer go off when you were showing your cardigan, I went to check if my coffee warmer had turned off 🤣🤣🤣. Have a lovely weekend.

I have flown in and out of Salzburg many times bad sadly not visited it but I really must, I want to see where they filmed the Sound of Music. I had to rewatch the video as I didn’t realise a buzzer had gone off 🤣. That was my dishwasher saying to me ‘I’ve finished!! I'm agog with envy and awe at that snow and views, especially considering I am currently sitting in 29deg C with "feels like" 36deg C at 8pm atm (That's Queensland, Australia for you lol). Thank you for sharing. I would be very interested in Group 2. They look amazing.

Austria was so pretty but I am sure I would get bored of the snowed covered landscapes after a while, it was weird seeing colours when we got home. It also adds a slimming effect to your garment (along with the long front opening). Definitely a keeper!!! Your blue/pink top is very nice. Like the color blocking you did. The pink band at the bottom to lengthen was a brilliant idea! As for the pattern group, I would choise #1. They would be more my style. I've made that Simplicity cardigan pattern - I made mine out of rose gold sequins and I love it! Yours came out really cute! EEEK! SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU IN MARCH!!! I played the flute in junior high and always sat first chair, but once I got my braces I couldn't play anymore - I just couldn't get my lips in the right position 🤣 Your photos are so gorgeous - what a wonderful trip!

I am viewing this 2 months after your oboe troubles and hope it was successfully repaired. At the moment of finding this video, I was practising my bassoon for MY orchestra! and loved your story :) I watch a lot of videos while practising my long tones and scales . I hope you are back in orchestra on your oboe by now !
Thanks so much Nancy, my Oboe is all now fixed and back in play! You sound far more proficient than me if you practice scales 😂 how marvellous that you watch videos whilst you do them 👏🏼. I will admit I enjoyed playing my flute whilst it was being mended, it's far easier to play and really is my 'home' instrument ☺️. Carry on the good work and you have encouraged me to maybe brush off my scales! 😊

It’s possible that the blue knit on your pink/blue top looks different because you cut the top and bottom going different directions. A lot of people don’t realize that knit fabrics actually have a nap - not as pronounced as velvet or corduroy - that can cause slight color differences. That’s why all patterns designed for knit ALWAYS say “60” fabric with nap” on the envelope back where yardages are listed and have a “with nap” layout diagram.
Hi Nancy. Thanks for your comment. Yes initially I thought I must have moved the material around to cut out but no, that wasn't the case as the blue pieces were cut out at the same time and stacked next to each other if you know what I mean. It must purely be the effect of the pink and the lighting. Mysterious isn't it?! You are so right, a lot of people don't realise there is nap on knit fabrics and only think it applies as you say to cord etc. I find viscose jersey sometimes has a nap which can catch you out. My husband says my oboe playing sounds like a duck 😂. The piccolo is not an easy instrument but a professional once told me, wear the tightest jeans you can as it makes you sit upright and play better! Think of me next Monday at orchestra 😲. Thanks for watching 😊
